Tyrone's company did a complete renovation of our basement bathroom in the summer of 2010. Tyrone was able to squeeze a shower into our very small bathroom which was previously just a two piece.
 
Tyrone was easy to get in touch with, quick to respond to our phone calls and emails, and easy to deal with. This was a refreshing change from the many contractors where undertaking a home renovation feels like a battle.
 
We changed a number of things part way through the project (lights, sink, towel racks, etc), and Tyrone was able to accommodate all of our changes. He also provided a number of design suggestions that we hadn’t considered, but add a lot to the final “look” (e.g. the choice of mirror).
 
In the end, the most important thing is the final product, and in that we are very happy with our bathroom. Everything was finished as we wanted, and we have had a number of compliments already. We would be happy to use Tyrone again for future work.

Tyrone orchestrated the extensive renovation of our home in 2009, and we could not be more pleased with the process or the outcome. With Tyrone at the helm, our circa 1920, mid-Toronto house was transformed into a modern, beautifully-appointed, highly-functional home. The narrow doorways were widened; the walls were graced with high-quality wainscoting and mouldings; and the kitchen, once galley-like was transformed into a cook’s kitchen, with modern amenities and appealing extras. This could not have been possible without Tyrone’s careful selection of only the finest, most professional of craftsmen, and his careful overseeing of the entire process.

What impressed us further was Tyrone’s prompt response to each and every email or voice message left; for first-time home owners, his eagerness to answer our questions with understandable explanations put us at ease.

We understand that renovating a home can be a stressful proposition; we would have never known. Tyrone’s expertise, client-centred approach, and positive attitude left us confident that we had truly chosen the best man for the job.

We hired Tyrone McFadden to be the general contractor for the renovation of our home. We decided to renovate the entire first floor consisting of living room, dining room, kitchen and garden room. After consultation with us, Tyrone obtained accurate drawings from which we could work. He then made specific recommendations for flooring, windows, doors, kitchen counters, cabinet, and plumbing and electrical changes. It should be noted that we have an older home with irregular floors and ceilings. He was very helpful in negotiating the necessary building permits with the city building department. He did all this work himself relieving us of the responsibility.
He was extremely helpful in making decisions about selection of the design and the materials. For example, he helped us decide on the type of wood flooring and moulding that would fit our home and budget. For the living room, he knew exactly what type of fireplace and mantel to recommend, and his staff installed them beautifully. The kitchen required the most major renovations including the placement of a new steel beam in the ceiling that allowed us to create a walkway and island between the kitchen and the dining room. Previously, these two rooms were only connected by a doorway. This was extremely innovative and required Tyrone to bring in an engineer. All the kitchen cupboards, countertops, sink and backsplash were ordered by Tyrone, and the installers were very good. He supervised the installation of all the appliances.
In our garden room he replaced the floors, windows, and the door wall and chose excellent materials. He organized their delivery and installation.
All the subcontractors employed by Tyrone were of very high calibre and their workmanship was excellent. We found that his predictions for budgeting and timetable for the work were very accurate. He provided us with very helpful updates by e-mail including a running list of expenditures during the renovation process.
In summary, Tyrone was superbly cooperative and informed. We especially appreciated his collaborative approach to making decisions. We would highly recommend Tyrone as a contractor. We found him to be very reliable, responsible, and truthful. He took a lot of the burden of renovating off our shoulders.

Tyrone provided me with general contracting services with respect to the removation of my kitchen. The removation was quite extensive, as bulk heads needed to be removed and new wiring installed, amongst other things.

I found Tyrone to be professional, and answer our questions and concerns promptly. As well, he kept me posted of additonal issues that arose at various stages in the renovation, and ensured the work proceeded in a timely and organized manner.

I would strongly recommend his services, as I found his assistance invaluable.

In 2007 when I wanted a full condo makeover and I realized had neither the time nor the energy to do it myself, I retained a designer to complete a full renovation of my condo with the theme “hotel chic”.

Tyrone was recommended as the general contractor. Tyrone did a great job managing all the trades for the various projects to be completed: kitchen install, built-in TV cabinet and new bulkhead, wall speaker installation, bathroom storage, etc. He kept me in the loop through the various stages of the reno and ensured the project progressed in a timely manner within budget. Any questions I had were addressed to my satisfaction. Tyrone was excellent with following up on details.

Within six weeks, the project was completed and I am thrilled with the results. My friends and family have been impressed with the transformation. I would definitely retain Tyrone again for a home renovation project and am pleased to recommend him to friends and family.

Tyrone McFadden is unique among contractors. Not only is he unique, he is unique in several ways.

• He is reliable. When Tyrone says, “I’ll be there tomorrow at 9 a.m.,” he is there tomorrow at 8:55 a.m. And if he can’t make an arranged time, he will call to let you know—and apologize. How about that!

• He is imaginative and helpful. Tyrone has solutions that will surprise you. He has ideas that will please you.

• And, above all, he’s a really nice guy with lots of great stories. You would be happy to have him for dinner, along with his designer-wife Belinda, who has even more good ideas.

The quality and craftsmanship of the project was spectacular. 8 months after the project was complete, Tyrone came back to fix some small fixtures that became lose as a result of my teenage daughters primarily using the bathroom. He was happy to arrange a time that worked for us and fix what was broken. Tyrone is willing to get in there and do it himself and/or arrange for his team of experts to do so. This to us as busy parents, homeowners and working professionals is priceless. The customer service mentality that Tyrone practices is exceptional. We have never felt that we have to push or argue our needs or concerns. Tyrone and his team go out of their way to ensure that we are satisfied with the end product.

We decided to update and renovate our master bedroom and ensuite. We called upon Design Studio, with whom we had worked before, to design and manage the renovation. Tyrone McFadden was the project manager and assembled a stellar team with all the required expertise and experience. Tyrone was a pleasure to work with; he took the hassle out of our renovation and was on site every day to inspect, troubleshoot, and keep the project on schedule.
