The bathroom toilet was clogged so we asked WaterWorks to come as they have received good reviews in HomeStars.
The first plumber came in and gave a quote of almost $900. After 3 hours of snaking, with the problem still not being fixed, he gave up and left. This is outrageous and we had no recourse as we had paid in advance. That is an average of $300 per hour with absolutely nothing resolved.
We then received a follow-up call from WaterWorks enquiring about the service. My husband explained what had happened (nothing), talked to the service manager who then sent a second plumber.
After an hour, he too gave up. That brought down the average rate to $225 per hour but we still didn't have a working toilet. While the issue may have been more serious then it initially seemed, charging the customer $900 for 4 hours of work (just snaking) does not seem right.
Eventually, the second plumber came back and explained that there was a mistake in the first quote. The bill was lowered to $300. The excuse they give is the first plumber is new.
I guess they will need to train their new hires to not only give out proper quotes but also to resolve the problem that they were called in to fix. After all this, the toilet is still not working.
Message from an unhappy, frustrated, time wasted customer who has just flushed $300 down the drain for nothing.
Update: Michael Yuffa from WaterWorks called over the weekend to apologize and waved the bill. He says this is not the way they normally do business and it was a mistake on their side. As a result, I am changing the rating from 1 to 5.
