Same old story. Got conned into buying the extended warranty for a new washer and dryer. The washer worked OK for little less than a year, then the washer's door locking started malfunctioning, so I couldn't use it. Called TG, they said it would take 1 week for the technician to show up.
I told them what the problem was, for them to tell the tech people to order the part (door latch), to save time (not fun going to the coin laundry place). When the tech showed up, he did not remove his dirty boots when going into the house, looked at the washer machine, saw the problem, and said "yes, it's the door latch, it'd take 10-15 days to get the part". And left.
I called TG and told them a piece of my mind. I was not a happy camper. Luckily, the door latch lock (basically a magnet) started to work again after a few days, and it's still operational. Somebody from TG called me a couple of weeks ago, saying that some body would call me to book the installation of the new latch the following Monday...that was last week, still no call from them.
Beware of The Brick extended warranty. It may work for some electronics or lemon products, but not for appliance repairs.
