Review based my experience with Amanda

I came across Rohit and was not immediately sold - my experience was exemplified as as result of the individual who accompanied my through my process of purchasing a home - Amanda R. who provided an outstanding level of service. Amanda was very personable and committed to making the building process as easy as possible. She provided us with a variety of styles, colors and options that fell within our budget to help us design the home. I am excited to see the progress of our dream coming to life which I do not believe would have happened without the thoughtfulness and understanding of our sales consultant in walking us through this arduous process. Thank you, Amanda, for building the home of our dreams!

Rohit Builders Worst

Buy anything but the Rohit home...incredibly irresponsible, unprofessional, fraud, and 'bait and switch' kind of people. They show you and promise you the best things but once they have your money in their pocket, they will give you a piece of crap in the end because they know that you already gave them money and you have no room to lose your money. So either accept a piece of crap or forget your money.. Rude, disrespectful people ..Never never never

Never buy a house from this home builder

i will never buy a home from rohit again!!!! Never never never. Cheap home...horrible accountability. Tiles not cut properly and water leaked from the top floor to the ceiling in the living room below. Not properly sealed. Paint over spray in every room. 1 year walk through inspection they didn't even bother showing up for. Paid too much for a house made with cheap materials and cheap labor. Far from professionals.

Once they have your money you're on your own

After my husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer, we knew we had to leave our acreage. Friends recommended this ROHIT community because they look after the walks and grass. When you visit the show homes, they are very lovely and the salesman is just that...a salesman and a good one. We purchased the house and everything seemed fine. My husband passed away one month before I got possession so my state of mind was not what you would call normal. One of the first issues was a retaining wall that was cracked. They came to repair it but it was a different color and they only patched it. It looks terrible. When I mentioned it, they said it would dry and blend in. It did not. When I made another inquiry, they said there was nothing they could do cause it was past the year. My patio in the back us cracking badly and there are footprints in it so someone walked on it before it was cured. The facia that runs across the bottom of the house was not done for more than a year. Then they came with a temporary one and asked if the painted color was ok. It wasn't. It was blue and my house was grey but I thought because it was temporary I could live with it until it was replaced. That never happened. The board began splitting, peeling and bulging. When I called them about it and sent photos they said someone would come out. They did and said that was the finished product. I had to get someone in, at my own cost to do a facia board. The parking is falling off the house at the front and the material on the front deck is lifting, with one riser falling off. The retaining wall is crumbling and it is a structure so should be covered. I have sent emails about this and have received no response.
Inside is another story. I replaced my fireplace (my choice) and had to lift the carpet. I needed a little more carpet and underlay. The carpet people said the underlay in my house wasn't available any more because it was so light. He said it was 2 or 4 lb. I paid for 7 lb underlay. I consider that to border on criminal. I've been here exactly four years and my carpets already need to be replaced. There was a terrible squeak in my floor and when I pointed the out at the year end, they said there was nothing they could do about it. When the fellow (not related to rohit) was here for the carpet around the fireplace, he simply peeled it back and put in some nails. There appeared to be a lot of nails missing in the floor joists.
While I was sitting in my living room I noticed that a potlights appeared to be missing over the stairs. I remembered they covered 2 and I noticed them during a walk through. When I moved in, considering I had just lost my husband, pot lights weren't the first thing on my mind. I do know one was uncovered but it was a couple of years before I noticed the second one. When I called, they wouldn't even come to look. I explained my fragile state and begged them to come...nope! Now I'm left wondering if there are live wires buried in my ceiling...nice.
For the most part, the home is lovely and some of my neighbors have had far worse experiences. Some of the workmen I've had in here over the years say they are terrible builders and I have to agree. Bottom line, I would strongly recommend against building with ROHIT.

Does not care about their customer

Rohit ruined the home buying experience. They have proven that customer satisfaction is irrelevant and are interested in profit, and not in doing the right thing. We were actually blocked from entering in warranty requests for repairs to our siding, concrete, roof and deck prior to being essentially told to take a hike because we : a) requested to be present when contractors were to be on our property and b) for asking the concrete contractor to cease the repairs they were doing when it was clear their solution was causing more problems than it was solving (completely cracked).

As a woman, even working in the construction industry, I have NEVER been treated so poorly and spoken to like I'm a little ignorant woman not worth respect. I recorded conversations with various representatives because my initial treatment set the tone for the months to come. I even had to go to the trouble of adding my husband to the title because Rohit stated they didn't have to deal with him...it took one week after that before they refused to help us with anything.

Our roof has dozens of exposed and rusted nails, the shingles incorrectly laid such that a roof that world have lasted 20 years won't protect our home for more than two - confirmed by an independent roofing contractor.

Our garage concrete is heaving - even the repairs using quickset that should be 10 times stronger, cracked and crumbled after two days of application. The original pour incorrect from the base through to the pour itself (too much water) - again, confirmed by an independent contractor.

The superintendent himself admitted that my home, in addition to two neighbors, were expected to be problem homes right from the framing stage - needless to say this didn't help the siding issues. We have entire sections loose, many areas still left cut short and cracked siding still present after two attempts at having them addressed. None of the contractors coming in will hear about where the problem areas are and Rohit very clearly instructed me to stop sending photos of the damaged/problem areas.

To date, we still haven't had anyone look at or address the deck that is entirely out of level - stairs installed after the sod leaving gaps and not plumb, footing cracked and brackets that aren't even the right size.

I cannot believe that a homebuilder is allowed to continue doing business in this fashion. Everyone was super friendly until a request for warranty repair was made..."we will be good to you if you're good to us"...this from the superintendent about one week after moving in. Had I known this was the treatment that I could look forward to, I would have instructed my lawyer to never released the hold back funds. Now that they have all of their money, the customer service folks are all too ready to shake is off onto Alberta New Home Warranty, which we were going to pursue with a concrete pad given that the repairs offered were clearly not going to solve the problem. Not one person Rohit has bothered to follow up with me other than to essentially fire us as customers, or to address how I personally have been treated.

I would never purchase another home from Rohit nor would I ever recommend them to anyone. In fact I feel responsible to warn potential buyers. I'm sure that there have been other builds with success stories attached to them, but in talking to more than half a dozen home owners in our area, it's clear that the vast majority have experienced the same poor treatment and lack of professionalism, coupled with a distinct lack of ownership and responsibility in the delivered product.

Don't bother

I am a first time home buyer. I purchased my newly built home three years ago with Rohit. The purchase experience started off wonderful. The show home staff was very welcoming, pleasant to deal with. Everything was great until the papers were signed. They were late for the last walk through, there were damages to the hardwood, faucets and toilets leaking, washer and drier installed incorrectly, the humidifier blew and the furnace broke within the first month. Now, three years in, turns out the siding was installed incorrectly and our windows are leaking, there is mold built up. Of course Rohit washed their hands of me and claim none of this is covered. God forbid you call the office staff for any kind of information. They do not care to speak to you therefore all you get is attitude and short answers. I wouldn't recommend Rohit to my worst enemy.

Does not meet the minimum safety standard

On April 08, 2016, it was windy during the night. When we woke up in the morning, we realized there were more than one metal siding pieces fell off from our house. We found the big piece was in the middle of the street. Enclosed the pictures of metal parts.

We've sent the repair and inspection request to Rohit warranty department and received the reply indicated that our warranty expired in April of 2015, so nothing Rohit can do about it; however, due to the seriousness of the QUALITY issue, I believe Rohit should take responsibility.

What if it hits anybody?! damage any car? damage any other possession? It's been the SECOND time of same incidence happened within two years.

We drove around the entire neighborhood during the weekend, NO ANY other houses had the same issue. Me and my husband is upset and angry about the quality of our Rohit house and it does not meet the very minimum safety and quality standard and does not align with how they advertised around.

Be responsible to your family, neighbor and community, DO NOT BUY HOUSES FROM ROHIT.
