Ideal Plumbing & Heating

I had a leak coming from my ensuite shower a couple of weeks ago. My tenant called Ideal Plumbing & Heating to have it repaid. It was determined that it was a dry seal (original shower drain) cost of the part was approximately $50.00. service call was approximately 1 hour.
To the best of my knowledge the job was done well. I received a bill for $667.83, which was extremely high in my mind for such a job. After writing the company a few times and trying to get a proper explanation of costs. The Owner then was willing to reduce the cost by approx. $200.00 which was a more reasonable cost for their service. Job was done well but I will not likely use their service again because of their high costs.

I had a backwater valve installed. It turned out that my plumbing is a little irregular, which increased the complexity of the job, hence the price. They warned me that this would be the case upon discovering the complexity and before proceeding with any work, so it wasn't a shock. I have every confidence that this was a fair and reasonable price, as the representatives from the city inspecting the installation agreed that it was an unusual situation. Also, given how steadily they worked and the care that they put into their work, as well as the thought they put into the plan as it related to my concerns, this price seems like I got a really good deal.

In any case, my experience was that everyone from Ideal Plumbing & Heating who I interacted with was knowledgeable, professional, friendly and cheerful. The plumbers who came to the house were efficient, informative and did an excellent job of ensuring the floors and walls were protected prior to starting work.

After the first day, the project was incomplete (as expected), so they took time to make sure to take precautions to keep my puppy safe by reinstalling the door to the room they were working in even though that meant that they would have to uninstall it again the next day and install it again at the end of the day. I really appreciated that thoughtfulness and care for my dog's safety.

When scoping the pipes at the outset of the project, they took the time to show me the scope and explain what the images meant and where the scope was in relation to the house. That was pretty cool. I feel like I understand more about my home because of this. It made me more confident about undertaking the project.

Upon completion of the work, they were thorough in the clean up. I had eavestroughs installed that same day. As they were leaving at the end of the project, the plumbers from Ideal noticed sharp metal shards left by the eavestrough installers on the front porch and lawn. They took the time make sure I was aware of it before leaving so that nobody would get hurt. These are good people who genuinely care about the work they do, as well as the people they work with. I just moved to the area and will definitely be calling on Ideal for my plumbing needs moving forward.

We bought our central air from them; it's less than 2 years old and already not working. We have been waiting over a month at 80+F temperatures and they have not provided any support to accommodate the delay.
Do not do any kind of business with them, they only care about the sale and will not provide you with any support in the future.

I hired the company to install a range hood. During their work visit my stone countertop was damaged. After almost two months, the owner finally compensated me for the damage. Thumbs up for being honourable in the end.

My furnace had been red tagged and we were in need of an affordable efficient furnace fast. Thank you Ideal Plumbing, fast services installed quickly. Would highly recommend them to anyone

I got great service from this company - i really like the fact that they are a local family run company and they stand behind their work - they did the job just as i requested and there have been no issues with their work after install - I would highly recommend this company for quality work!

I had the unfortunate experience of hiring IDEAL PLUMBING to remove and replace water lines in my home. The tradesman that was sent didn't no the extent of the job and immediately asked for another tradesman to be sent to help them. It got worse, so I asked them not to come back. BE WARNED OF HIRING THIS COMPANY, poor workmanship and they refuse to stand behind their product when there is a problem.

I needed work done in my basement including gaining access to a hose via the basement ceiling, doing pipe work so that the pipes don't freeze and I don't understand a lot of this stuff. Bob the plumber from Ideal explained everything he was doing in a way I could understand. He was very neat , cleaned up after himself and very friendly. He completed the work in a timely manner and everything was DDown with the highest quality.

Needed duck work in the upper part of our home, only decent quote we got! Awesome staff... we had Charlie and Tom come install and they did a top notch fantastic job...Would highly recommend!! After an hour the guy said he was about done, but ended up another hour, and no further along, they couldn't fix the problems, and couldn't even give recommendations.....nice guy but could never in good faith recommend them for more then a simple clog.
