We had a new steel roof installed over our existing asphalt shingles in August 2010.

The experience with this company was smooth and non-stressful from the beginning to the end. Max came initially to give an estimate and there was no sales pressure. The workmen were polite and cleaned up at the end of each day. From my experience and as far as I can tell, I would say this company is reliable. Of course, only time will tell how durable their product and workmanship are.

I spent 3½ years as a heavy construction inspector, including roofing.
This job was a rental duplex I have owned for 22 years.
New Steel Roofers were a joy to deal with. Max (the salesman) was competent and professional. He knows roofs.
The installers were careful, courteous, safety conscious and took their time to do a very good job.
With roofing, especially a complicated roof, the devil is in the details, especially the flashings. No point in buying a hundred year roof if the flashing details are only good for a decade. Silicone caulking is NOT an acceptable method of flashing anything more than a doghouse. New Steel Roofers were very good about flashing around skylights and against walls using proper counter flashings and reglets (look in up).
They will definately be roofing my 135 year old heritage house when the time comes.

After much research and listening to quite a few companies tell me why metal roofs were superior to asphalt shingles my wife and I were left with deciding between aluminum and steel for our roof. We settled on New Steel Roofers because we liked the method of installation of the roof. Their method seemed to me to give better air circulation than some others. We also did not like the price of aluminum and did not like the fact that you need snow guards.
My only concern was that the installers did not install the roof as stated by the salesman, though they did a very good job. I did have to call them back to increase the ridge venting which they did. Overall my wife and I are very happy with the overall job and we have received many compliments on our new roof.

I had a leaky roof and needed the work done fast.
Max and Shannon were very helpful in listening to my concerns addressing them relatively quickly.
Since the work couldn't start for another few weeks, they had a water-resistant membrane installed on my roof first to help with any rainfall.
The installation itself was fast, and there was not any garbage left behind.

New Steel Roofers, Hamilton were responsive to our request for quote. Their crew were professionals - neatly dressed, no loud music blaring during installation, polite. They cleaned up the site constantly and left no mess. The roof installation is beautiful. Rows are even, trim is straight. They even colour matched the vent stack with compound and crushed stone to match the shingle colour! When it rains the product doesn't produce any noise like that experienced by my son's click metal product on his home. We just couldn't be happier with the job or the final result!

We wish to express our appreciation for a job well done. We had a new steel roof installed on our house in October 2008, and every day we feel even better about our decision to have this done. The roof truly accentuates the overall appearance of our house. We have never experienced so much attention from neighbours and people passing by; some have driven into our driveway to ask us questions concerning this lovely roof. With the durability along with the energy-saving features, we feel we have made a real investment in our home. The roof also has a 50 year warranty, which is transferrable. The workmanship was excellent and very efficient, and everything promised was fully completed, and on time. While we originally were a bit wary about a steel roof on a Tudor-style house, it proved to be one of the best decisions we have ever made. I checked on them almost every hour of every day and never did I have a feeling I was bothering them. This was our first experience with a new house construction and a new roof, and we were very pleased with the process and the results. The New Steel Roofers were organized and fit in with our schedule, and the workers were great at their job. We are extremely happy with the roof; it looks like no other that we've seen.
