Repair of oven

I took my convection oven to these guys for repair. It came back as good as new. I've been using it for three months now since the repair and it has no issues whatsoever. No, not the quickest repair, but I was in no rush for it either. I would take an appliance to is old-school repair shop anytime.

Repair to 70's Amplifier

After leaving a high end 1970's amplifier with Butlers, then doing research on them I was somewhat concerned. Obviously I should have done my homework first. However, I can honestly say that when it was all said and done that I am happy with the service. This is somewhat of a specialty item. They made no promises that it would be ready quickly. and did a great job. The price was fair and I actually would have them repair other things if need be. However, just like any place that repairs things, I would ask how knowledgeable a company is with repairing a product. I have been using the amplifier for several months now and it sounds great, Overall, I am happy with the service.

I can honestly say we have quite possibly the best electronic technician in the GTA!

Your review is proof that you shouldn't always believe what you read! It's far too easy for people to post negative reviews.

We look forward to serving you again.

Many thanks,
Craig

Repair compressor

Always a bad experience with them. They are unskilled, unqualified and rude. But they're local so I use them when I have no other option. I think they are just waiting to sell the real estate their store sits on.

Chris,

Unfortunately I don't know what your story is.
We are a family owned and operated business and I can assure you we are factory trained and more then qualified.
I've accepted the fact that we can not make every single customer happy but we do try our best. We've been in business since 1927 and in this location since 1947 so luckily we've made more customers happy then not.

Regards,
Craig

Small repairs

I had one mediocre experience with Butler's and now a second poor experience. I won't be bringing anything back there.

My first experience was ordering a replacement lid for a slow cooker. I ordered over the phone and they took my credit card number for a deposit. I was told it would be in in around a week. After two weeks I called and it still wasn't in but I was assured I would be called when it came in. After 9 weeks I finally called again and was told 'oh yes, it's here'. It turns out it had been since about 2 days after I first phoned and they just didn't bother to call me.

However, I thought maybe that was a random occurrence and I brought in my food processor that wasn't starting. I was told they'd have to look at in detail to see if it could be repaired or if I needed a new canister. I was never called to be told what the investigation showed. Three weeks later I call to see what's going on with it and I'm told, 'yes we fixed it and it is $42'. I am surprised they went ahead with that without calling me and secondly not calling me when it was done.
When I went in to pick it up I found they had ordered parts that I had at home. When I asked about that they said they were slightly different. At home I found they were exactly the same. I would have preferred if they found out what the issue was, called to find out if I had the additional parts or not, before just assuming I did not have them and ordering them. I admit I wasn't using those parts properly which resulted in the food processor not working, but the problem was my ineptness using the machine and not the machine itself. Now I have $42 worth of extra parts that I don't need. If they were going to charge me for anything it should have been for finding the problem and showing me how to use it properly.
I will not be bringing anything back there because they are missing very basic customer service elements.

Unfortunately we just signed on here with Homestars and I just read your comment. I do not recall this from 2.5 years ago but what I can say is we always call customers when part orders arrive in store. What happened in your case I do not know but we do call customers. As for your repair issue, again I can't recall from 2.5 years ago but it does sound like your unit was repaired successfully.
I hope we can serve you again in the future.

Craig

Dishwasher repair

Technician was on time for appointment, but told us the dishwasher motor was gone and we'd have to order a new one for $500.00 - more than the cost of the dishwasher. Thankfully we elected not to do that, and bought a new one, and the installer for the new one said the original unit had no motor problems, just a clogged drainpipe. We were able to have the unit repaired and returned the new dishwasher, but this was almost a very unnecessarily expensive service call.

Convection oven repair

I've brought the same two convection ovens in for repairs a total of seven times now. Each of the last two visits I asked them to contact me before repairing to discuss the costs. They went ahead with the work, charging me for the same repairs. Each time they "adjusted" parts without replacing anything, and each time the problems returned. Had they told me they weren't covering the repair under their warranty, I wouldn't have proceeded with the repairs.

I've now spent more on repairs than the table top convection oven cost to purchase... and it's started grinding again.

Avoid these guys and take your small appliances elsewhere.

Art,

We always offer warranty with all repairs! It sounds like your unit broke outside of the warranty period but we are very flexible and easy to get along with here. We just signed on with Homestars and wish we could have helped you back 3 years ago when you posted this. Regards, Craig

Repair of Expresso/ Coffee Maker

I was given the name of RA Bulter as an approved dealer for Delonghi.
I had to bring my machine in 3 times and it took 4 months. They were NOT trained to service this machine and I was always waiting for parts etc. I finally called Delonghi directly and was promised a new replacement machine. Two times (four trips) I would be told that my machine was fixed and bring it home and test it and it would be still broken- you wonder if they even bothered to test it at RA Bulter.
DON"t Waste your time going to R.A Bulter- go somewhere else.

Mary,
Back when you posted this in 2009......When the Delonghi Automatic Espresso units came out there was a few months when nobody was trained until Delonghi held there training sessions. We also let all our customers know this so there was no surprises. Unfortunately waiting for parts from manufacteurs is a part of daily business in the repair world. I wish we could stock every part but thats just not possible. Sounds like your issue is with the manufacteur. I apologize. Regards, Craig
