Front windows

We replaced all our front windows facing the street and we were told the seal would be even better than the 3-pane window lock tight seal we already had - but when they installed only double pane glass you can now hear every single vehicle passing - we can no longer use our living room space its so loud. And our kids are having trouble sleeping in the front rooms facing the street. Its horrendously loud now. The owner Lucas misled us with shoddy equipment and misinformation. His father called me and said it was because I had a window open? Huh? Seriously? Then he asked me to remove my review. No chance. Fix my windows!!
I refused. Also my google review ge asked me to delete? Seriously? Absolutely!

Window and Door Sales and Installation

Buyer Beware! Last year we hired Buy Wise Windows & Doors to replace 18 windows and three doors in our home. We dealt with Lucas d'Entremont, the owner's son. We made it very clear that we had hired them because they sold both windows and doors and we wanted them to all look the same. The quality and aesthetics of the windows and doors were discussed on several occasions; we made it clear that the value and look of the house was important to us. During the installation we had two issues. One of the windows would not fit, and after catching them hammering on the window to force it in so tightly that it would not open or close, we insisted Buy Wise order a new window that fit the frame. While they did it, they argued with us and clearly let us know that this irritated them. They asked us if this window could be invoiced separately so they could get paid quickly for the rest; unfortunately we agreed. The second issue is that the windows and doors do not match each other in colour. The windows are one colour white and the doors are such a different colour of white that they look blue/grey in comparison; a very obvious contrast. This is particularly problematic since our living room windows are immediately adjacent to the French patio doors, so you look at white windows and blue/grey doors at the same time. When we pointed this out to Lucas, after the first door installation, he convinced us that it was the lighting at that time of day, and the difference in surface area that was tricking our eyes and it would be fine. The next day, different lighting and quiet time to reflect, it was clear that we had been mislead. When we brought it up again, we were told that it was not his fault, we should have known better and asked for a custom finish, and now it was up to us to (at our expense) paint the doors to match the windows. We had just paid Buy Wise Windows & Doors $30,451.79 for new windows and doors. How were we to know that they would not be the same and why should we now have paint our brand new doors with a "white" paint that will never be as durable as the factory finish, to match the new windows that we bought from the same company (Buy Wise)? We should have been informed beforehand that the windows and doors come from different manufacturers and will not match in colour. We tried very hard to give Buy Wise every opportunity to negotiate a satisfactory solution to the problem, including involving lawyers. During the negotiations, our lawyer advised us no to pay for the last re-ordered window ($1,382.63) while we work things out. Instead of acting in good faith, Buy Wise Windows and Doors spitefully accelerated the dispute by voiding the Lifetime Warranty on all the windows and doors, including the 17 windows and 3 doors that we had paid for. In doing so, they have just devalued the entire $30,451.79 project. Their motto is honesty - integrity - quality.......this has not been our experience at all. We would hate for anyone to go through and lose what we have.

Front Door Replacement

I recently purchased a front door with Buy Wise Windows and Doors. Replacing a front door is expensive. I have no issue with the service provided. I am very disappointed in the quality of the product and the information provided prior to purchasing the door. After the door was installed the inside door colour was noticeably different from the colour of the doors already in my home. When I pointed out the discrepancy, I was told the colour could have been matched prior to ordering the door, however, I was never given that option. The suggestion was that I have the inside of the door painted. I have looked into having this done and it will cost me an additional $500. I am also very disappointed with the door hardware. I asked prior to purchase about the quality of the door hardware and was assured that the quality was high. After installation I found the quality of the hardware to be mediocre at best. The door handle and the dead bolt are very loose and have a lot of play. I was told by Buy Wise that this is normal. I researched the product made by Eurotek and found that the hardware is in fact middle of the road quality and the main problem with Eurotek Hardware is that the handles break off. I was told someone would get back to me about the hardware but of course once the bill was paid, I have not heard from Buy Wise. I will be adding a large addition to my home this summer. I will not use Buy Wise to supply the windows and doors.

Window Replacement

Called Mark @BuyWise and arranged free quote. He showed up on time and went over the potential job. He answered all my questions and then proceeded to ask some of his own. (I had gotten three quotes for this job and no one else asked me these types of questions) The reason I wanted to replace the windows was that I was experiencing lots of condensation, the caulking on the outside was cracking badly, plus these were the original windows on the home from the builder and it was time for a upgrade.

His questions were thoughtful and made me think about exactly the type of product I was putting in. He also made me think about some things I had not yet considered.

After reviewing all the quotes (his was the lowest - not that it mattered) and considering the experience I had with the other folks who came in to quote the job I decided to go with Mark @Buywise. The personal touch really put them over the competition.

We set up a date and the guys came in replaced the windows cleaned up everything and took the time to answer any questions I had about the installation as they were doing it. They took time to spray foam the openings and allowed the proper time for it to dry and caulked all the windows and did a fantastic job.

The only thing I regret about the whole experience was not doing my sliding door leading to the backyard. In retrospect Mark did mention it might be a good idea to do it, when he gave me the initial quote.

It’s been a month since the install and I have yet to see any problems. NONE. It’s not Buywise did anything special for me specifically. They quoted me a price and a time. They showed up on that day and installed the windows just like they said they would.

In this day and age when a company says they are going to do something and deliver, it usually doesn’t work out that way (there’s always something that comes up). Buywise on the other hand hit a home run.

Replaced windows, entry door

Good people to deal with. Installation was completed on the arranged day. Really like the quality of the windows - noise reduction is incredible. Had a minor issue after and they dealt with it right away.

Update - Sept., 2016
Had Buy-Wise come back to replace our entry door. Not only was the service and workmanship excellent once again, they were a big help in selecting a door. It looks amazing!
