Trilex Security

I was considering modifying my seven-year old home security system to take advantage of new technological developments. I met a representative from Trilex Security at the Ottawa Home and Garden Show and I was pleased to discover that there is a Canadian company providing security services to Canadians using the latest technology at competitive prices. The representative, who was low key in his approach, proposed to provide a better service for less. I am always skeptical about these offers but I nevertheless agreed to have an evaluation done on my house.
As a result of the evaluation, I changed my security provider to Trilex. I now have a more comprehensive security system with additional upgraded sensors that include CO and flood warnings. For a small additional fee (about $2.50/month), I am able to monitor my residence over the internet. I recently travelled to Europe and I tested the system and it worked as described. I was informed in near real time of activity through my mobile phone. You can also activate and de-activate the system.
The system works as advertised and I now have a modern security system which is much better than the one it replaced and it costs me less. As a bonus, it is a Canadian company monitoring in Canada; not an international one.
Finally, the personnel from Trilex have been extremely helpful during the transition from the old system to the new one. I highly recommend this product and company.

I have very bad experience with the service of this company. They were very rude. They tend to promise many things they cannot deliver. When we made an appointment, they came one hour late without any explanation. One of their technicians came to my house two times for fixing a minor problem. The second time he had to be accompanied by another guy. After my numerous complaints, they agreed to cancel the contract and stop their service. However they had my control system locked with their own password without my permission. My new service provider said he had never seen this happened before and it is extremely unprofessional.

I selected Trilex Security almost exactly 8 years ago from this date from many Vendors at the Home Show in Ottawa as I liked their product and attitude. At that time, I worked with the owner, sales staff and their technicians. I did not have any issues during installation or after sales. In fact, installation was quick and clean on a fairly complete security package.

A few years later, I added security cameras and upgraded the quality of cameras based on their recommendation at a reasonable price which turned out to be the correct move not a sales upgrade move. Subsequently, I have had a few service calls which were handled quickly and no issues. Lastly, a review of our system recently indicated one monitoring function that was missing which was installed given the small charge to add it. At the same time, a complete system check was done which included installing a new battery as a preventative measure - no charge. At the same time, and at no cost, Trilex Secuirty forwarded to our house insurance company a letter confirming all of our monitoring functions. This will prove most useful in expediting any future claim should it (heaven forbid) happen.

Of note, the monthly monitoring price has not changed in many years which was a promise made by Trilex Security to their customers quite a few years ago. Trilex Security have kept their word and more.

In summary, I trust the company and their word. There is no issue at all in terms of their technical or sales staff. They deal with you upfront, cleanly and honestly in a professional manner. Companies like Trilex Security are not that common these days and I have no qualms in highly recommending this company. And yes, you will find cheaper security systems but you only get what you pay for. In the long run, they are better!

I have been a customer of Trilex for over 5 years and I am completely satisfied with the system that was installed and with the service provided. All terms and conditions were explained beforehand so there were no surprises. I have only experienced 3 minor technical issues which were resolved promptly by very knowledgeable, efficient and pleasant technicians.
