Urban Cabinetry And Millwork

I am a thorough researcher, and I interviewed 5 other companies before choosing Urban Cabinetry. I did not choose them because they were the cheapest - they were just a bit more than the cheapest, but less that the other companies. It was their workmanship and top quality hardware that I appreciated (and great price of course). They were very open to incorporating my design ideas, even though they had never done them before. The final product is amazing - Ultra modern Murphy bed with 2 large cabinets. And, when there was a small problem afterwards, they were quickly willing to replace it at no extra charge. Great company, amazing product!!

Extremely happy with the Murphy bed we purchased 2 1/2 years ago. In this time we've used it a lot by a variety of family and friends. We can therefore attest to its comfort (my wife and I slept on it for 3 months during a renovation) as well as to the durability of the instal. The best thing was the ability to customize the size to fit underneath a bulkhead. We were able to fit the queen size bed with only 85" of clearance. No-one else we talked to was able to do this. Good job!

In 2015 we wished to acquire a Murphy wall bed and visited two companies prior to meeting with Gerrit Bargeman the owner of Urban Cabinetry. The difference in the level of product quality offered by Urban Cabinetry including the structural construction & finish of their wall beds and most importantly the inclusion of an actual Murphy bed spring mechanism was far superior to their competition. Their pricing level was competitive & we ordered the bed & arranged for an installation date. Gerrit arrived at our home and completed a very professional installation & provided us with an overview of the raising & lowering operation of the bed. The bed is attractive & comfortable & we are completely satisfied. We would highly recommend Gerrit Bargeman & Urban Cabinetry to anyone wishing to acquire a well constructed & beautifully finished Murphy wall bed.

Urban Cabinetry was commissioned to design and build a custom murphy bed and cabinets in my house. The product was delayed by several weeks and was of such poor quality that it will need to be removed and rebuilt. The installer was not a bonded professional and came alone: I had to help him install the product. Urban Cabinetry charged my credit card in full before the project was complete and provided customer service of very low quality. For our renovation project I was impressed with Gerritt's professionalism when the project was proposed. Upon meeting with him and seeing his design ideas, I knew he was the right choice. Several meetings led to the development of a design for our reception area that I knew would look stunning. The end result was nothing less than that! The price quoted was very close to what we had projected as a budget. Considering the end product and the quality of the work it was a deal. The timeline went exactly as scheduled. Minor tweaks when the project was done were not a problem to have taken care of in a timely fashion. I would gladly recommend him and his company to anyone looking for someone professional and trustworthy. He takes your initial ideas and collaborates with you until it is more than you imagined! He asks a lot of questions to be sure he understands what you are looking for and is great at keeping communication going during the project so you are never left hanging. Excellent, excellent job!
