moving

after being told I had an easy move... deliberate misrepresentations were told when quoting. we were charged 350.00extra, numerous items were broken or damaged. not surprising since things were moved upside down. Not all things were moved so we had to hire someone else to go back and complete the job.---it was moving apt. to apt. no appliances etc.
it should have been easy and quick - it wasn't - it was a nightmare.

Moving house

Overall we were satisfied with the actual moving, BUT there were a number of issues that would make me hesitate to reco this company.
1. I had specifically hired these movers because they advertised (and later confirmed during the on-site estimate) that they were "piano moving experts." NOT TRUE! During the estimate, I had pointed out that our piano, on the 2nd floor, weighed 450 lbs and had been difficult to get upstairs when the original (professional) piano movers brought it in years earlier. The 2 Men & a Truck estimator assured me it would be no problem to get it out and I believed him. When the 3 movers tried to get it downstairs, they tried for 45 minutes before they finally gave up. I was worried either one of them, the piano or the house would get seriously damaged, so I agreed that they should stop. They advised me to "hire some professional piano movers." Ridiculous, as this was what I had been promised they were.
2. We had an issue with our closing and the furniture had to sit on their truck overnight. The movers initially assured us this was a free service they provided (should have gotten that in writing! it sounded too good to be true). When it came time to pay and we asked for a rebate on the piano moving portion, since I now had to pay $250 for real piano movers, they told us that the piano cost was offset by the overnight storage charge. [for the record, when the expert piano movers came the next day, they had the piano down the stairs and out the front door in 10 minutes.]
3. We also had an iPod disappear during the move. I have no proof that they took it, but it was on our office desk along with some other items, I heard one of them say "there's an iPod up here and I'm putting it in a drawer," and when the desk arrived at the new house there was nothing in the drawer and the iPod hasn't been seen since. If I had been paying attention I should have gone and got it from them at the time -- or, would have been nice if they brought it to me (or left it where it was in the office, since we still had lots of little items in there, like the computer, that we still had to pack up). Why would they put an iPod into an empty drawer when there were all sorts of other odds and ends around the house that they didn't choose to pack up?
Overall the move was fine, nothing got broken, they were friendly, courteous and did the job in the time estimated, but I nonetheless felt a bit like we'd been ripped off.

Moved us from one house to another

Easiest move we have ever had (and we have moved more than 20 times in 6 different countries)! Two Men and a Truck didn’t just move our boxes and furniture but took extra care to move our family. They made sure our sons most treasured belongings went in last and came out first. The booking agent was helpful, accommodating, and explained everything. The price was reasonable and the movers were careful, quick, and hard working. It was the hottest day of the summer and yet they remained positive, helpful and with great attitudes. They took extra care to protect our belongings and were highly efficient and professional. I hope we don’t move again but if we did we would definitely use Two Men and A Truck.

Moved my piano

They arrived on time, came prepared but the whole process of moving the piano took quite some time. I understand it's not an easy task but it wasn't as daunting at they made it out to be. Measure doorways and move it, I have an open concept for them to easily move it out. Took over an hour, to move it roughly 15 feet.

Dissapointed in the end

I hired this company, 3 guys came everything was good however when they had to start taking apart the furniture, none of them had tools. I lend them my power drill. After they left the power drill, was gone. I phoned the office and they made me feel like it was me that misplaced it, I explained that I did not use it, that their workers had it in their keep the whole time of the move. 3 months later that drill, box etc.. nothing has every showed up within my house. I phoned the company again to tell them I did not find it and asked if it could be replaced. They have NEVER returned my call. my advice to this company is supply tools to your workers so that they are not what they call " borrowing tools" from the customers.

Moving sucks, movers sucked even more...

terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible. I could go on and on and on. Two Men and a Truck should be ashamed of themselves. Movers community should disbar them from calling themselves movers. Seriously. THey are that bad. Save your $, go to ANYONE else, hire donkeys, if you have to, who will certainly do a better job. The movers were terible, their managers worse. No ownership of the crap service they provided. Never will.

Movers

Moved from a condo to an apartment in Toronto. These guys sent a gentlemen to assess my home and accurately estimated how many boxes and movers were needed. They got everything done on time and didn't break/lose anything. They also brought their own packing materials and such (tape/blankets). A+++

House Move

We were moving to a house just a couple of kms away. The sales guy who came to give us a quote from Two Men and a Truck seemed professional, efficient and put us at ease. The guys who turned up to do the job - horrible. They arrived an hour late - reason - they had to pick the truck from Oakville. They were in a rented truck - not the company truck. They had NO TOOLS - to dis-assemble the furniture, inspite of the quote specifically calling for dis-assembly and re-assembly. We unpacked our tools - to lend them. One of the guys wanted to help - but his boss pulled him up - for meddling in our affairs. Calls to the Two men and a atruck office were of no use - since it was a Sat. Finally stuff was loaded onto the truck and the guys took off for an hour and half. Reason? It was break time - and I was paying by the hour!!!! For their break!!!! Unloading was equally painful. I was glad to see the back of them. When we took this matter up with their corporate office - we were informed that the particular franchisee would sort the matter. 3 months later the franchisee hadnt even replied to our mail and the head office sheepishly told us - they couldnt do anything unless the said franchisee responded to us.
I am never ever going to use this company again.
A friend who moved the same day - with a much smaller moving company was way way way more satisfied with her experience.

Moving homes 2 kms away!

Two Men and A truck, an introduction- had them move us late 2010, in a days worth of effort, and spent next 4-6 months resolving the issues they brought with them. The discussions were with the franchise itself, credit card company, Heron Capital management (that manages this franchise...).
From the above, it would be apparent to you, how the move went.
If it is not apparent, then this franchise/company, for sanity reasons, a No GO.

Issues varied and ranged from negligence to incompetence to improper financial transaction. The most incompetent mover I have had, and I moved 3 continents, 5 countries in the past 6-7 years, so I do know a bit about what it takes for a normal move.

Now the actual details, movers showed up late, without ANY tools, (for a full service move), they then blamed the franchise owner (Costello), the sales guy (Dick) for the delay, no tools and why sun rises in the east! They then refused to disassemble with the tools I provided, the movers sat in the truck while I disassembled, they had a jolly good time on my dime- extended smoke breaks, truck disappeared after loading, and on return was advised they went to lunch, who was to tell me??? I almost called Police (though now I wish I had :))! The move was really a few blocks, and it took them ALL morning and ALL afternoon to complete. To top it, billing included all the breaks, lunch, smoke, and the time they started from Burlington (to Mississauga)??? The charge is by the hour!
In all, I was paying for 4 extra hours of work that was never done.
Corrupt!

I understand, mistakes happen, however, when there is no subsequent action, taken that is when in my mind, where the biggest problem. The franchise owner, Heron Management did little to resolve the issues their workers presented, after the fact. I lay the onus on the franchise and the management for lack of effort to address this failure.

Thanks to BBB and Credit card co there was some respite from this atrocious moving company. AS a last note, the credit card company advised they have flagged this merchant for continued excessive charges (whatever that means), perhaps another review coming from someone?

Save yourself the trouble, get someone else, than employing "2 or more dishonest men and their truck" for your move.

Happy moving!

moving

After hearing good things we hired Two men and a truck, 3 guys showed up. They were very organized and worked quickly, but...... over the next few days after moving we discovered 2 boxes were missing!!! We reported this to them, thinking it was an error and they were missed and were most likely in the "lost and found" so to speak!
Well this was not the case! there are gone!!!!
Lesson here: do not write on the box what is actually in it!!!!
They have not been helpful in us making a claim!
