Hardwood floors

I purchased a beautiful condo with hardwood floors in living and dining room. Broadloom was installed in the bedrooms by the developer. I found out that Torlys was a supplier of hardwood floors for the developer. I contacted Torlys and they successfully matched the same hardwood floors that I installed in two bedrooms and hallway. I am very happy with the quality of the floors and service provided by Torlys.

Luxury Vinyl Plank

I purchased our Torlys smart floor a month ago, and we are so pleased with our decision!
We chose Cobblebeach by Everwood and have had so many compliments on the look and the feel of floor. I love that I don't have to get too upset when the kids spill because their LVP is waterproof. I love the variation of the product.

Torlys Everwood Vinyl plank flooring

We were recommended this product from a local flooring company and we chose a design that was waterproof and scratch proof. After waiting several weeks for it to arrive we were looking forward to finally putting the final touches to our reno. Once we opened the boxes we could see that the flooring had only 2 shades of the recommended colour mix. We had chosen the "cobblebeach" 4 colour blended design. Additionally, in the shipping of the product we had many boxes torn and damage to some of the planks of floor. This is not a cheap product and we were shocked it should arrive to us in such a poor state. We have now had to return the product, the delivery itself was a gong show. Now we dont know when we will get a replacement as we have been told we have to wait for the "one rep" to get in touch. Very dissatisfied. Plus just read some other poor reviews about the product and now not sure what to think. We did get a total refund from store but the delay and hassle is not worth it.

engineered hardwood

I purchased 2000 sqft of engineered hardwood, 3/4' wide plank. We started the installation, however we noticed that there was large number of bowed boards. Torlys was informed of the problem and they told us to stop with the installation.
First, the territory manager came and she agreed that there was a huge problem and said that she will have the replacement in my house in a few days. That night I get a text saying that she has spoken with the Toronto head office and that they think that its my installers fault and that a good installer would be able to solve the problem. So, she'll come in with her boss the next day.
So, the senior sales manager came inspected the product, measure the humidity and looked at leveling if the floor. However, since there is no issue with the storing or the house he agreed that the boards should be replaced. He gave me the option of reaping all the installed hardwood out, taking back the uninstalled wood and paying for the costs of my installer thus far. THATS HOW BAD THE PRODUCT WAS!!!
So I tell him that I am in a time crunch, there was hardwood already installed and to get the nosing ready would take a long time and it delay my project by a month. So, I wanted the bowed wood replaced, and some kind financial compensation for the labor. He said OK, let me call Toronto tomorrow. Plus, he will check if other hardwood from that batch has warped in the warehouse and IT HAS!! case closed right?!?!? Nope, i made the mistake of telling him that i am in a time crunch.
I wait and wait, call him, leave a message. Finally a call back. He has talk to "quality control" and they say that the wood can installed and that its suppose to warp and that they will not replace any wood. He didn't have sense to be polite.
I told him that I wanted the wood out of my house, an option that i saw as the last resort and the one that he earlier suggested. However, he then said that he never said that. His claim was that he qualified that option with an "if" the Head office okeys it, which he didn't.
So, if you'r thinking about buy this hardwood, then be prepared to get a defected product and no support.

Torlsy Engineered Hardwood

I purchased Torlys Hardwood floors, based on the recommendation that this was a 'reputable' company which provided solid after sales support - at least this is what the initial salesman told us.

The flooring was installed a few months after purchase as we had to wait for other renovations to take place. Once down, we noticed that there were certain planks with a discoloration. When I contacted Torlys, I dealt with a Territory Manager and her manager. I was told at first that she would help me, only later to have her renege on her promise, instead saying that her decision had been "overridden" and that now I would have to go back to the salespeople, submit to their onerous checking processes, and basically showing no issues with having gone back on what they originally promised.

I then got "questioned" on my motivation for putting through this claim, and basically told that they were suspicious with me disputing a few planks. I could not believe it - I had paid thousands over a couple of orders and was I really going to be putting myself through the tremendous heartache and pain and time wasting of dealing with Torlys and their dealers because I had nothing better to do?!

This is a company which is wholly disappointing in its obvious contempt for its clients, and its ability to stand behind its products, or keep their promises. Do they even know what the world professionalism sounds like?

I would not recommend Torlys for anyone looking for quality flooring products, and who want a company that actually will stand by their after sales service and keep their word.

Worst company I've dealt with by far.

Product received damaged, company refused to replace

I ordered Torly's flooring through a Barrie supplier. The product was still on the skid when I went to pick it up and I could see that a corner had been damaged. I refused to accept the damaged portion of the product. Later that day I received a call from the supplier stating that the manufacturer (Torly's) advised that I should use the damaged product for end-cuts. I responded that I payed full price and expected undamaged material. One week later I received another call from the supplier stating that Torlys would not budge, I will have to use the damaged material. I wish I had checked them out on this site prior to ordering!

Basement Floor

I have purchased Torley's Floating Florence cork floor to install in my whole house. I have only installed it in the basement so far. NOT HAPPY it had only been in for a year and the finish went dull and the floor scratches very easily! I have tried contacting torley's on a few occasions with no luck. Needless to say I do not want to put it in the rest of my house, cheap laminate would have stood up better than what I paid for this expensive cork!!!!! I recommend not using torley's cork product, it dents , scratches and the finish disappears very quickly and will have to be reapplied. The touch up pen does not even work to cover the scratches go with the wax crayon they offer if you have problems. If you do install this kind of floor you may want to ask if it can have a poly type finished applied this may save the product. If you do not drop, walk on very soft feet or are never home then maybe this product may be for you. I was trying to be environmentally friendly and put a better grade product in my home but I got burnt.

Manhattan laminate

Flooring was laid 1/12 years ago and has dents and chips from dropping a mug ,keys and anything you may drop in a kitchen by accident . The salesperson told me not to drop anything (this is a kitchen) .Not a good choice for a kitchen floor! Also If it's raining I must run after the dog to wipe up any water she leaves behind or the floor lifts along the seams. Washing with Torlys cleaner leaves a dull film on the floor so there is no shine anymore. We will be replacing with something suitable for a kitchen.Dining room and living room are dull also .In our old house we had Mannington laminate flooring which was glued and there was no problem with lifting or denting. We also have used a waterproof vinyl plank flooring product which is excellent. Torlys laminate looked lovely when first laid but didn't stand up to it's hype. Also there are only my husband and myself living here....no kids.
