I purchased 2000 sqft of engineered hardwood, 3/4' wide plank. We started the installation, however we noticed that there was large number of bowed boards. Torlys was informed of the problem and they told us to stop with the installation. First, the territory manager came and she agreed that there was a huge problem and said that she will have the replacement in my house in a few days. That night I get a text saying that she has spoken with the Toronto head office and that they think that its my installers fault and that a good installer would be able to solve the problem. So, she'll come in with her boss the next day. So, the senior sales manager came inspected the product, measure the humidity and looked at leveling if the floor. However, since there is no issue with the storing or the house he agreed that the boards should be replaced. He gave me the option of reaping all the installed hardwood out, taking back the uninstalled wood and paying for the costs of my installer thus far. THATS HOW BAD THE PRODUCT WAS!!! So I tell him that I am in a time crunch, there was hardwood already installed and to get the nosing ready would take a long time and it delay my project by a month. So, I wanted the bowed wood replaced, and some kind financial compensation for the labor. He said OK, let me call Toronto tomorrow. Plus, he will check if other hardwood from that batch has warped in the warehouse and IT HAS!! case closed right?!?!? Nope, i made the mistake of telling him that i am in a time crunch. I wait and wait, call him, leave a message. Finally a call back. He has talk to "quality control" and they say that the wood can installed and that its suppose to warp and that they will not replace any wood. He didn't have sense to be polite. I told him that I wanted the wood out of my house, an option that i saw as the last resort and the one that he earlier suggested. However, he then said that he never said that. His claim was that he qualified that option with an "if" the Head office okeys it, which he didn't. So, if you'r thinking about buy this hardwood, then be prepared to get a defected product and no support.
