oven broke down

Baking function of the oven was not working. Called the Appliance Guy and he quickly figured out what it was (bake ignitor was completely burned out)and replaced the part (which he already had on hand). Professional, efficient, and easy to deal with. Thanks Joe, if any of our other appliances malfunction I know who to call.

Washing machine

I called Joe when my washing Machine suddenly stopped working making an unusual noise. I called Joe and as he had a full day he called me next day and was at my place around 11am. within minutes he found out the fault and repaired it and the machine was working fine. He also corrected a small fault with the dryer.
Joe has exceptional knowledge of his work, has fast solutions and is a courteous and jolly guy. i would always count on him in future and believe me you too would like his work

Broken LG washing machine

Ok, so don't stuff too much hockey gear in those front load washers, because you can break the seal. We did that, and Joe the Appliance Guy came fast when we called him, gave a decent quote for the work and started in. It was a nasty job getting that big gasket attached to the front of the washer, he had to wrestle it for a while but he persevered and got it done. And it's worked great ever since. Thanks Joe! We would not hesitate to recommend Joe to anyone with an appliance problem.

leveling new refridgerator that Sears did not do

After paying a premium price from Sears cartridge company to deliver and set up my new GE Profile fridge they basically dumped the fridge into the spot and left. I was left with an uneven unbalanced fridge as well as a door that would not stay open. A Sears repair man came out the next day to fix the problem and when he came into the kitchen he professed that he had 40 years experience and he could tell from just looking at my fridge it was my uneven floor that was causing the door to close and not stay open. He stated that he couldn't do a thing. No tool was taken out, nothing was done. By Sears rules, he wasn't even allowed to take my fridge of its place in case my floor got damaged. I was extremely upset. I decided to call an independent repair person - which was Joe. He immediately saw the fridge doors were not balanced properly with the hinges resulting from poor installation. As well he adjusted the feet on the bottom of the fridge to create proper balance. With great ease and confidence he fixed my issue perfectly, explained the process and I relaxed. I've told all my friends already that Joe is their man for any appliance breakdown. I would never hesitate to call him back. He has a positive attitude and wants to do the job properly. How refreshing! Thanks Joe.

Appliance Repair of my front load Whirlpool Duet Washer

On Friday, my washing machine started making strange sounds just before the spin cycle, and then subsequently stopped working. I called Sears, and the quickest they could come was Saturday, so I booked an appointment. 5 hours later, they called to cancel, and the earliest they could come was Tuesday, so I told them don't bother. I next called TAS....same problem, Tuesday. I did a quick internet search and up came "The Appliance Guy" reviews and I decided that I'd give him a call - by this time it was 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon. Joe answered on the first ring, and did a quick diagnosis over the phone. I expected he was going to put me off until next week, and instead he said "I'll be there in 20 minutes, I'm not far away, and I want to come now to see what is happening". I couldn't believe my ears, and sure enough, he arrived in 20 minutes with toolkit in hand, and got to work. Within 10 minutes or so, Joe had diagnosed a pump that needed to be replaced, and he even had the part in his van! Another 10 minutes or so, Joe had the part replaced, he cleaned up my floor, and I signed the bill. What an amazing service professional! I was completely thrilled to have my washer working like new again. I'll be calling "The Appliance Guy" again whenever I have a repair, and I'll certainly recommend you Joe!

Gas range repair

I was very pleased with "The Appliance Guy". I called him after reading his reviews here on HomeStars. Our gas oven wasn't working and I was pretty sure we needed a new igniter, which turned out to be the case. He was prompt, courteous, and efficient. He took the time to show me on his multimeter that my old igniter was dead and the new one was good. He is very proud of his HomeStar rating and he well deserves it!

Fridge

The day after we moved into our new home, we noticed the fridge that came with the house was not keeping food cold- at all. In moving in panic we found Joe on homestars and gave him a call. Although he was leaving the next day on vacation he managed to squeeze us in and came and fixed our refrigerator. He was timely, friendly, curious, knowledgeable and professional. I would highly recommend Joe to anyone who's appliance is on the fritz. Fingers crossed we won't have a problem in the near future, but if we do, I know who to call. Thanks Joe!

Refrigerator repair

No over-promising, not messing around. Costs were explained up-front and he showed up precisely when he said he was gong to. I can't tell you how much I wished every service guy was like this. I only docked him one star because of his phone manner. When you meet him in person, he's perfectly personable, but over the phone he can come off a little brusque.

clothes dryer repair

I purchased my condo with appliances. I was considering buying a new dryer because it took three to five cycles to DRY clothes, even if the load was just a couple of towels.

The Appliance Guy came at the time I requested and prepared to do a repair. But upon inspection, he advised the dryer was okay and proceeded to give me a little lesson in how to use the appliance correctly.

I paid the minimum charge, which I agree was fair for his time and effort, but saved the repair and/or replacement costs.

I was going to replace an appliance that was working fine.

Thanks Appliance Guy!
