pool liner

I will never use this company again.
First of all the time it takes to get through to these people is a job in itself. I had to schedule my pool closing 3 seperate times because I was told I would get an email to verify my closing and never had anything from these people cross my inbox. When I called each time to inquire about this, the attitude I received from the secretary Vi was inexcusable and very rude. If you are going to tell people that you will email them, next time make sure you do email them, instead this person made it out to be my fault. Upon telling her that yes, my email address is the same one they have on file, for the third time, I was told to check my junk mail as I should have received the email and if I had not then there was "obviously something wrong on my end" I told her that I did not receive the email and then she proceeded to be short and rude with me, and I felt as if this woman had more important things to do other than to deal with me as a customer. When the pool guys finally did show up at my house to close my pool, I opened the door to find to high school kids in Jameson uniforms who looked as if they would rather be anywhere else than my front door. I do not have any faith that these people know what they are doing and I would think that such a company would want my business and would take better measure to insure they train their people properly, especially in regards to customer service. The woman, Vi, who answered my calls each time was rude, unhelpful and demeaning and I would rather pay more to deal with another pool company than to be made to feel the way that I have.

Pool liner and waterfall

After months of research and reading the reviews about Jameson Pool, we decided to go with them to replace our liner and build a waterfall in our pool. Needless to say we were not disappointed. The quality of their workmanship was beyond our expectations. We are very satisfied with the results, and will enjoy the new look for our pool for years to come. A big thank you to Paul, Dean, Randy, Tony and the rest of the crew who worked on the project.

Jameson Pool "Service?"

Been a customer a few years since we moved here for opening and closing the pool -- we were quite satisfied - the retail people are very helpful - however, I have noticed a marked deterioration on the last 2 services with the support people in the office and the quality of the technicians -- its obvious they are very busy and have technician turnover and its hurting them. My spring opening on Friday May 30 was poor, it was not completely done right, in spite of them leaving a note saying the pool was working great and have a nice summer. When I got home I noticed one of the primary hoses leading to the pump was broken (it was not broken previously) so the pool was not operational. We are having a youth group over the following weekend so I needed to get this fixed. Spoke to the technician on the Saturday morning that actually worked on my opening -- he could not get out that day to fix it because one of his trucks had a flat tire -- but promised he would relay the service request to "Vi" in scheduling department for early next week ---- 3 days later I hear nothing ---Tues: I speak to Vi -- she advises me she has no record of my service request and would speak to the technician -- I told her I sent an online service request on their web site on the Friday evening as well (that was missing too) -- she promised she would have someone out Wed or Thursday and I would get an email confirmation 24 hours before. Wed: nothing....I sent an email to her on Wed evening for an update -- nothing -- I left her a vm on Thursday -- nothing --- Friday -- still no news... so I ended up having to arrange for it to get repaired myself. They recently expanded a new outlet in Oakville -- but if they think they will be successful with the current lack of support they are providing they will not be successful -- its interesting in this blog the company advises you to call them --- well, I tried several times after Tuesday, and all you get is voice mail --and no call back -- if they cannot fix a simple repair -- why would I trust them to handle larger projects.....?? The owner needs to be proactive, be accessible for escalation issues and address customer complaints. If I did did not need the pool for an event the following week, I would have been more patient -- but do customers need to follow up on a service that was paid in advance and not completed right ???

New pool

We hired Jameson Pool and spa to build our pool 3 1/2 years ago. The design and construction process was fine and the finishing etc was also great. We have had them service (openings/closings/water testing etc) our pool and equipment since it was new, knowing that there are less expensive alternatives out there, believing in their products and recommendations. Staff at the store has always been pleasant to the point where we haven't minded driving all the way to Oakville/Mississauga to visit the shop for regular maintenance. Last fall, just before the three year mark, we did notice a small leak in our pool shed. As it was only 2 weeks away or so from the closing date they suggested to us that the technicians look at it when they came to close the pool for the season. They came and left and and didn't do anything about it. We inquired about this and Vi suggested that because they were so busy with the closing season that it should take place in the spring when the pool was to be opened. This year we reminded them of it again and nothing was done. We have been extremely disappointed for several reasons: 1) our loyalty seems to have gone unnoticed 2) our equipment is now out of warranty (Vi told us that there's a 3 year warranty on the heater (so it would have been covered last fall when they should have repaired it) 3) we have had to chase after Vi to get responses either via email or telephone 4) she also went as far as implying that the water was unbalanced this year and that it might be the cause of the damage to the heater (I reminded her that we told them about the issue last year and that they tested and balanced the water with us always since new and that it most certainly was out of balance this year because it was just opened and the heater had not been turned on yet. Despite all this we still inquired about having them provide a price to purchase a new heater, again with no response. This has been going on for almost 3 weeks. It's now June and we have yet to use our pool because of this. As a self employed person running two companies, I understand that physically one can only do so much and that things take time. What I do not understand and consider unacceptable is giving the impression that a customer's concerns are being ignored because a warranty won't cover the work. It's a very disappointing experience right now and after recommending them to several friends (they built at least 4 more pool projects because of our recommendations) we now feel that we need to warn them as well. We will likely be searching elsewhere for the continued maintenance of our pool and equipment.

Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Be very careful about warranties and service. Be very careful when the supplier tries to defer service/maintenance to a time period when you may not have any warranty.

Pool Opening

We have been using Jameson to open & close our pool since they installed our pool a few years ago. From installation to services, we have been very happy overall. We find their prices competitive and the staff knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Each year we look around to make sure pricing is competitive and have been satisfied in terms of value. We will continue using their services in the future and recommend to friends looking to install a pool.

Pool Closing

I contacted Jameson again this year about closing my pool in September. Received a reply from "Vi" that she booked it for Tuesday September 16th. Tuesday is in fact September 17th, so I asked for definite confirmation, and received an email stating it was for Monday Sept 16. Waited all day for them and finally called her at 4 to inquire about when they were coming. Found out Vi booked us for Tuesday the 17. She then claimed I was mistaken about the date until I pointed out her written confirmation. The crews are great, but the inside service people - not so much.

Pool deck

We have a concrete deck that has been defective since day one. Paul Jameson has been avoiding the problem since day 1. Everytime we contact him by email he responds with excuses. We have every email for the past 6 years. You pay big money for a perfect job and not get one and the owner does not want to take ownership of his work.
Has even tried to say my dogs going in the yard will ruin the concrete, well we have 3 different contractors over and laughed at that one and said if that were true the sidewalks wouldnt be around. Then says deicer on it in the winter, well don't put a thing on the concrete in the winter, nothing but excuses from him.
We were told when his father ran this company he was a business man but when he left it to his son to run it has gone down hill cause he is not.
We are still getting the run around which means we will have to use all our emails and do something about him now.
I have MS and to walk on this horrible comcrete is killing me.
My husband has more patience than me and has been dealing with him about this.
Now I'M JUST FED UP. My MS can't take it anymore.

Pool installation

Jameson was recommended to us by a friend. The initial consult/quote was very vague and they did not really sell themselves well. After that we had the owner come to our house to go through the quote with more detail. Paul was great and answered all of our questions. Jameson started the pool right away and were FABULOUS. The design consultant Connor was great and Jane in the office was extremely helpful with our decision making and going through all of the costs with us to make sure we were comfortable. The pool was completed in two weeks. During that time, the workers were approachable, respectful and hard working. They answered all questions and any time we had the slightest concern, the people at Jameson addressed them right away. The best part about Jameson is how they completed the project. They finished up and got the pool set up to swim, then gave us "pool school" at our house to make sure we felt comfortable operating everything, and ended by asking if Jameson had anything outstanding that we wanted them to address (which there wasn't). Andy, the guy who got our pool running, was also great at making sure everything was running perfectly. Jamie was excellent during pool school. After a few more weeks we had our water tested and they provided us with all chemicals for free as it was our first test.
Overall, I am very pleased with the work and the process. I would recommend them to anyone looking to put a new pool in. Karin Couban

Pool Liner

Jameson Pool built our pool four years ago and now we are having all kinds of problems with the liner and when we called them they always put the fault on us and does not want to fix the liner on the warranty. Worst customer service ever.

Pool Renovation and Maintenance

I have been a customer of Jameson Pool and Spa for many years. I use their opening and closing service, have had them replace parts as they get old such as the sand filter and pump, use their water testing service and buy the pool chemicals. Last year they replaced the liner and installed LED pool lights. I have always found the staff to be courteous, friendly and very knowledgable. I email Vi regularly with questions and to make appointments. She responds quickly and has always been very helpful.

This season I decided to enroll in Jameson's weekly pool maintenance service. Jessica did a thorough and excellent job and I am delighted that this summer I can just sit back and enjoy my lovely pool - no work involved!
