Ikea - Etobicoke

i'm in the business of home renovations - the whole thing... everytime i need to renovate a kitchen... i try to look elsewhere like home depot / rona / other flatpack places - but i always end up back at ikea. they almost always have what you need in stock... lately i have found there staff to be wonderfully knowledgeable. their prices are always the lowest... their product is very well made and the selection is wonderful. ya, you've gotta build it yourself - but i'm a sadist... i like to build ikea stuff!

We found a great selection of styles and were able to get a entire collection of items for our place that fit perfectly with our room size. The fact that you can also rent a cargo van or arrange for home delivery at the location was also a big plus to us.

We went to Ikea to buy an organizer that fit into my walk in closet. I am currently changin one of bedrooms into an office for my husband. I found an organizer that fits quite well into a large walk in closet. It organizers all his magazines, business materials, and office supplies quite well. It creates alot of office space for him and I am quite pleased with the product. I my consider buying another organizer for my bedroom also.

we need new furniture and a fresh look. i was pleased with the selection and colours at ikea. the childcare and restaurant was a huge bonus. This was during March break when they had several activites for the kids. This made shopping at ikea a pleasant experience for all of us. My room looks great with mimimum efforts.

normally when i go to ikea it is busy and frustrating to find all the pieces i need. i recently used the home service to purchase the pax system. It was during my lunch hour I met a home service consultant and gave her the measurements for the area and the style I wanted and she literally took care of the rest. Because it was home service I left to go back to work and she said she will take care of ordering the items I needed including shelff, baskets, knobs etc. I called her later the afternoon with my credit card number and had it delivered. This was all done in 40 mins unlike the hours I would have spent doing it alone. By the way the service was FREE!!.. Great

I bought a table and broke a leg while assembling it. I went back the store with the broken leg. They replaced the leg without any question. The process is so easy and that's reason I love Ikea.

After looking around at low to mid range furniture stores we decided to go with IKEA. That was where we could get the most sofa for our dollar, in the style we wanted. After 4 different visits to the store and a chat with the online store we learned:
- some items are always a "special order" and will arrive 2 weeks after completing the purchase
-if you order items at the store you only pay a $60 delivery fee, however if you order the same item online or over the phone you are subject to a different delivery service which starts at $200

This in itself was a bit frustrating, not to mention the last 2 visits, when I was trying to order the item and there was a glitch in the system which prevented me from ordering all of the components, a corner sofa without the corner!

Well after all that and practically breaking down into tears in the sofa section, the very accommodating manager offered to figure out a way for me to fax in my order, when the system was back up, and thus avoid a 5th trip to the store.

Honestly I don't know how they manage.

I always find what I am looking for and their maze of decorating ideas always inspire. Definately great marketing making you go thru the maze and buy more by the time you are done.

the quality of the storage racks was very good. the small containers and metal storage racks were also very good. The kitchen door knobs, purchased in white looked great on the laundry room doors and seem very durable.

AS usual, with any Ikea you spend an hour in the store, and even longer in line! This particular Ikea seems to never have enough lanes open - it always seems like there are only 3 or 4 lines open, when they need 10-15...
