New Home in Markham

This the first time I purchase new house from Greenpark Home, and I don't think their deco centre treat their purchasers well and appropriate. Look, I requested to upgrade my facade once I purchased the house in mid April 2012, and its deco centre General Manager told me that it should be handled by Sales office. So I went back to Sales Office in Markhma, and finally I got the quotations in July, then the Sales person refer this upgarding to Deco centre again. This General Manager then told me that nothing can be done because permit has been submitted. So don't tell me your Slogan that "we built it better"...I will not recommend Greenpark Homes to my friends in the future....

New Home

Moved in and there wasn't a room in the house that didn't have a problem. Doors didn't close properly, locks were broken, baseboard damaged, crown molding damaged. Our upgraded cupboards were my favourite part. None of them closed properly and one of them the wood was split in two.

Our PDI was LONG. Despite leaving 20+ voicemail along with countless emails no one has ever called me back and not a single item on the PDI has been fixed. Including the leak in the basement.

Previously I had bought with Mattamy and although the house quality wasn't great over time at least they answered the phone and technicians actually came to our house to do work.

Our First Home

We'd like to thank Joseph Barotta from the Greenpark Sales Centre and Candace Forza from the Greenpark Decor Centre for their outstanding customer service and guidance in helping us purchase our first home. We're very happy with our decision to do business with Greenpark Homes because of their long standing reputation for excellence.

Working with Joseph was an easy experience because he was very courteous, a fair negotiator, and explained all of the entitlements for first time home buyers.

Candace has been very pleasant and easy to work with as she helped us design every space in our home exactly as we envisioned it. She was always quick to respond to every email and voicemail during the construction phase and I hope every future Greenpark buyer has the good fortune of working with her.

New home

This is our first time owning a Greenpark Home. Ours was built in 2007. Overall, we are happy with the house but would not recommend it to a family or friend. We have had a handful of problems such as a water leak in the garage ceiling due to a poor caulking, basement leak from a cracked foundation wall, an air duct that was not connected to our master bedroom, sloppy grading which led to huge puddles in our yard, low quality casement windows which failed after 1 year of use, noisy and loose air ducts, loose/bouncy floors in bedrooms, cheap bathroom fans which quickly died, uneven tile job in the kitchen, poor exterior painting and caulking job, and a noisy master bedroom tub faucet. Some of these problems were repaired to our satisfaction, but others have not. I have fixed the rest of the problem myself since I'm very handy. For the money, we expected better, but it seems these houses are built as quick as possible. If you already own a Greenpark, I recommend replacing the dryer duct vent, checking window caulking, sanding/repainting exterior moldings and garage doors, adding insulation to the front door or replacing it altogether, re-grading your yard, and replacing the weak bathroom fans.

Town House Purchase, 6 years old

Don't buy a Greenpark Home. If only I had checked Homestars.com before purchasing... We purchased our first home in Burlington; a beautiful 2 storey brick town house in a great location, and only 6 years old (almost new...right). Everything about the house seemed great on the surface.

Major problem #1 was discovered by our home inspection: the duct connecting the bathroom fan to the roof vent was improperly connected at the roof vent, and for 6 years had been spewing moisture into the attic. There was significant mould on the underside of the roof sheathing throughout the attic, but mostly around the improper fan vent connection. We were going to walk away from the purchase, but the seller agreed to work with me and pay for all professional re-mediation services required. Work went well, had the whole attic tested, dry ice blasted, almost good as new, and air quality all fully cleared. The work cost around $10k, so not a small job. Greenpark was contacted, and had no interest in taking any responsibility, despite the fact that their poor workmanship caused the problem.

Major problem #2: roof is now leaking in multiple places (unrelated to fore-mentioned mould re-mediation work). roof is less than 7 years old, and shingles are in great shape, but now the roof is now leaking. Hoping to put repair through insurance, as cost will be high.

Everything in between: little by little, I discover all the horrible workmanship in the house. The general fit and finish of the house is terrible, and the house was clearly built as quick and dirty as possible, with no attention to detail or care for quality of work. The tiles and grout are cracking... seemingly because of poorly constructed floors... the floors creak and flex excessively...When you walk into the bedroom, the bookcase bangs against the wall because of the flex. The drywall workmanship is terrible all over the place. The trim work is terrible. The air conditioner and furnace are cheapest available. We roasted upstairs in the summer, and are freezing in the winter. The house is basically cold whenever the furnace isn't running. From what is visible in the basement, ductwork is poorly designed and in-efficient. Very low air flow to areas requiring it most (master bedroom), while the bathrooms have air blasting out of the vents. Large gaps and leakage points throughout the ductwork... joints not taped... can only imagine the air loss happening in the walls. Ducts are run up through the attic with minimal insulation surrounding them, further reducing the heated/cooled air brought to the upstairs rooms. Now that it's getting cold outside, we're seeing just how awful the windows and doors in the house are. The windows installed look like something you'd see in a house 20 years old, but they're only 6 years old... obviously cheapest windows builder could find. They are extremely drafty and allow major heat loss. Even when not very cold outside, we have major condensation almost covering the windows. We're literally going to have to replace the windows because they're so bad... this is not to mention the installation of the windows! They are bowed and crooked and the casing and jambs have opened up revealing big ugly gaps all around the windows. I replaced the dryer output duct and vent after finding that the installer had mangled the duct going out through the wall, so that the dryer air was just firing into the insulation. Found the same thing with the bathroom fan duct that goes out the wall... mangled. Carpet is so cheap it's completely shot. Guessing insulation above garage is bad, as the room above it is excessively cold in winter. It is apparent that there was some kind of significant water leak previously in the bedroom ceiling that was fixed... don't know details. Kitchen cupboard installation is terrible. In general, everything I touch is poor craftsmanship. Don't buy from Greenpark. I'll update this review as I find more problems.

New Home

If you love your money, spend it with another builder. The fit and finish on my house is terrible. I agree with the other post about messed up wall. And yes, the cabinets do fall apart. The service is terrible...and the folks in the show room have no patience. All builders are bad a milking us, at least use a lil vasiline greenpark.

Greenpark Home Construction

My Greenpark home is about 11 years old. I've owned it for 9 years and have been repairing it ever since. There are too many problems to list here - a steel beams protruding through the roof, floor joists that were cut and left that way, sagging floors, faulty roof. I could go on and on. Be ready for massive repair costs if you buy Greenpark.

New Home

I bought my first home in Milton. The builder is GreenPark Homes. I loved the home, gret finishes, excellent service when i had originally purchased the home. I would recommend a GreenPark Home to a friend or Family memeber.

Condo at Wynford Drive

My friend purchased a condo at Greenpark's "The Rosewood" condominium complex on Wynford Drive in North York. We were flabbergasted at how poor the fit and finish in his unit was once he moved in. Floors weren't put in straight, walls were concavely or convexly curved, doors were hitting each other, etc. Very poorly built and it was pretty obvious Greenpark put in minimal effort in building his unit and, in fact, in the entire condo project on Wynford Drive.

I will be sure to never purchase a Greenpark-built place and have been warning friends and family to stay away from this builder. They are all about making $$ and don't seem to care about their clients.

My friend has asked them to fix a number of items in his unit but their standard response has normally been to simply say that the items we wanted fixed were "within the tolerable limit of the building code" and thus wouldn't be repaired.
