Community Gas Heating & Ac

We have had Don Lee and his family service our furnace for years and more recently they have been providing advice, upgrades and maintenance to an income property for my mother-in-law. They have also successfully provided some trouble-shooting on the poor work provided by another company. I'm surprised there aren't more recent Home Stars reviews of their company and work so I thought I'd like to write in and provide a very positive review for them. June S.

We have had don and his nephew in three times this winter, for issue not related to their work but just a furnace they kept shutting off, they are both very nice but they had failed to source the gas smell I had been smelling for months, every time they came I told them i could smell propane. I finally had enough of the smell and called Enbridge gas. They pointed out about 5 issues with the furnace that needed to be fixed including the carbon monoxide reading 50points about the legal limit. Our heat was shut off till it could be fixed. Don, his son and grandson came back and redid all the piping and did find a leak. Which they fixed. The carbon monoxide is reading much lower than what Enbridge read so they are bringing in someone else to check with their equipment. While it did take a while to fix the issue it was fixed and we feel much safer with all new piping and the leak found.

Called Community Gas after having horrible service with another company. Read reviews on homestars and called Community Gas. VERY impressed with Don and Rory. Very professional, honest, straightforward people. Explained everything to me. Advised me appropriately. VERY impressed with service. Will be using them again most definately.

This company has been servicing my gas heating system for some 20 years or more. The fact that I've remained with the company speaks for itself. Don Lee, head of the family-run business, is a total professional. His knowledge is based on technical expertise and long experience. When he offers a recommendation you can trust his word. You never get the sense he's trying to "up-sell" and his prices are fair and reasonable. This year (2011) I only needed an annual furnace service -- safety check and cleaning -- but in the past Community Gas has responded promptly to emergency calls and fixed the problem. Several years ago the company replaced my old furnace for a good deal less than I'd feared it would cost. I particularly appreciate Don and his family colleagues' courtesy and punctuality. You always feel they take pride in their work and want to provide excellent service. Having made an appointment they call to confirm they're on their way. If they are, as has only rarely happened, delayed by unforseen circumstances they also call to let you know. I have recommended the company to several friends and all have reported back their complete satisfaction. Don, by the way, is passing his wisdom on to the next generation so that the company can be expected to maintain its high level of service even when he decides to put his feet up and let the young ones do the heavy lifting.

Old School Service and amazing work. Don and his son Don Jr. spearhead the team in the 4 man family business and they are on time, on budget and a pleasure to deal with. They could have been a little neater with the waster but my wife and i were very satisfied with Don, Don Jr, Chris and Gary's work and we'll be cool this summer in our new home.

This was our second time hiring Don Lee and his son Don Jr. - the first time was for our furnace 3 years ago and we were very happy with the service they provided. Once again they have proven themselves to be professional, honest, hardworking, and willing to go the extra-mile. It's hard to find such "hometown" service in a big city like Toronto, but these guys are definitely it.

This summer being pregnant and enduring multiple heat-waves we finally decided to get our air conditioner (which was broken)fixed. They arrived in the morning intending to do a repair, but it quickly became apparent that the problem went deeper than that, as we had multiple line leaks and our compressor was also broken. With absolutely no pressure from them, we decided just to get the entire system replaced. They offered the best price around and installed it the same day, juggling other commitments around to accomodate us that day b/c they felt bad for this sweating pregnant lady!

Despite the sweltering heat, they worked all day and went out of their way to find innovative ways to take the lines into the house so that it looked cosmetically much better than it did before.

I am very happy with their service and would definitely reccomend them to anyone!

I have been using Don Lee and son Don for several years now. They have serviced my two old furnaces, my two old air conditioners, and eventually replaced 3 of them.

These nice fellows are "old-school" in the best sense: honest fair and good explainers. Plus they show up when they say they will, and promptly even in lousy weather.

To me they are like extended family. Wife Shirley handles the phones.

Great service from Don Lee at Community Gas. Don tried several things to correct our furnace problems so that we could avoid buying a new furnace. When we did need a furnace, Don gave us the best price of all the quotes we received. We also had him look at our air conditioner and he was very straightforward about what we needed to do - he tried a couple less pricy solutions, and when it was apparent we'd need to replace the AC, there was no pressure sale. Because it was very hot at the time, Don squeezed us in - coming on a couple weekend days. Honest and responsive service.
