City Roofing

We had City Roofing do the shingling on the side of our flat roof house. Worst mistake ever! The roof looks terrible, always falling apart, they have the worst service and their guarantee is worthless. They came 3 weeks after the agreed upon start date, which should have been our first indicator that they couldn't be trusted. They finished the job after the sun had set so we couldn't really look at the finished product, and demanded payment right away. They even threatened to call the police for non-payment when we said we wanted to review the job before paying. We paid them, which was a huge mistake. The next day when we looked over the job, the shingles were curling, and when we complained, they said to give it a few months for the shingles to "uncurl". A few months later, the shingles were still curled and several had started falling off. It took us several months of calls to get them to come back and re-nail up the fallen shingles, it still looks terrible. A few years later now, and the fascia is falling off and more shingles, we've been calling them for weeks to come fix it since they "guarantee" their labour for 10 years. Left so many messages with no callbacks. When I actually spoke to someone, they said they would send a repair person the day after tomorrow. No one came and no phone call. After a recent storm, when one piece landed in our pear tree in the back yard several meters away from the house, the neighbours have started to complain that the huge metal pieces that are falling are going to hit and damage their cars. We had no choice but to get a family friend to come re-install the fascia and shingles.

Arrived 3 months after the promised start date when the temperature was appx. -20'C. Debris was left around the property, the eaves and window wells were full. Damage to the exterior of the property occured as it was not protected, as stated in the contract. Several leaks occured due to the fact that the flashing around the chimney was not replaced. A large gap was left at the corner of a dormer window allowing water to enter. Damage to the interior ceilings, walls, floors and furniture occured as a result. It has taken dozens of phone calls and almost a year to get City to fix the cause of the problems, which are not yet totally rectified. I have come to the conclusion that I will never see the interior repairs done by City and will have to do the work ourselves.
