Basic Plumbing

I had been quoted $6,000.00 by another plumbing company to repair a leaking supply line under the foundation and hook the bathroom fixtures back up. Jack and his son Danny devised a much more affordable solution. They are such a pleasure to work with and I couldn't be happier.

Wow what a pleasure this company is to deal with! First off Jack was very responsive - called back within hours. I had been told my leaky shower taps would have to be replaced by another company which would involve breaking tiles. Jack figured out how to stop the leak without breaking tiles. The upstairs toilet gave us "attitude" in his words. He just wouldn't give up. It runs amazingly - calcium buildup was reducing the flow - he got rid of that with a hanger and adjusted something in the tank to give a better flow. With a persistent on again/off again obstruction he worked until he was sure it was gone and get this - Jack called the next day to make sure all was still OK. This is amazing customer service.

Jack Hollander and his son have performed many plumbing jobs for me and my husband over the past 10 years. We've always been extremly happy with their professionallism and honesty. They guarantee their work and live up to it. I'd recomend them to anyone.

Something was stuck in our garburator and we were sure we needed a new one. I called Basic Plumbing and they came by the next day. Instead of needing a new garburator, they fixed it. Boy were we surprised.
We have had them come for other things and they always come quickly and prefer to repair than replace.

The toilet had not been flushing properly for some time, and finally overflowed. We have another bathroom so it was not an emergency. Jack returned my call promptly and came within 2 days - we had told him the problem was not an emergency. On site, he diagnosed the problem immediately. He not only fixed the problem but also advised us how to avoid future recurrence. He was very pleasant and helpful. The cost was very reasonable. We would certainly use him again and recommend him to other.

After another plumbing company couldn't make and keep a commitment to show up, I called up this one man (+ son in training) operation. They installed two taps, gave professional advice and were very friendly, genial people that I was glad to have in my home. The work involved cutting out the existing copper soldered plumbing, replacing the valves, installing flexible tubing, and fitting it up to the new taps. The initial quote was $180, and became $210 cash after a small scope change which (thinking about it later) ought to have simplified the work compared to the quote. Maybe it was for parts it wasn't obvious he needed. Either way, I feel I got a good deal. 3 hours times 2 people for that price is fair.
