Furnace Inspection

I found my furnace stopped working and looked into it for approximately 2 hours before I made a call to Aire One last night. They were quick in scheduling an on-site check by their service tech and he did show up in the window we set up. After he checked my furnace, he said it might be the vent motor that needs to be replaced. Then there are a few other options he offered, including a furnace replacement or a complete package (AC + furnace). Since the service tech didn't tell me too much of the condition of my furnace (just moved in for a couple of months), so I wasn't sure what to do with it. However, their regional manager followed up with me within a day after his visit to talk about my situation and offered the best he can do. Now my furnace is back and running well. The Aire One in KW is very well managed and I think I know why people had a very good review for it. I would still considering calling them or refer them to my friend in the future.

Furnace Inspection

I found my furnace stopped working and looked into it for approximately 2 hours before I made a call to Aire One last night. They were quick in scheduling an on-site check by their service tech and he did show up in the window we set up. After he checked my furnace, and I told him that the LED indicator is showing a 3-flash which he didn't check, he said it might be the vent motor that needs to be replaced, as well as the pressure switch (and I knew it already from the 2-hour I looked into it). I was quoted for $750 and $275 each before tax. Then there are a few other options he offered, including a furnace replacement or a complete package (AC + furnace). He said the furnace is about 13 years old (he looked at a tag attached to the gas pipe rather than the sticker on the furnace), which I found hard to believe at that time, and a complete change might be worth considering. After he took my payment for the inspection and left, I went back and checked the furnace, only to found that the sticker on the furnace showed a mfg. date of Mar 2011 (I just moved in for a couple of months). I called the service technician and asked him about this, he said according to the serial number maybe it is a 2005 model. By that time that I realized he took the model number and serial number from the same sticker, where next to it clearly shows the mfg. date of Mar 2011. I insisted that the sticker shows Mar 2011 and he said he will check further. Half hour later he called back and agreed that this is a 2011 model without any apology. Even the service call is only $49 + tax with their coupon, I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone because they may make up (or didn't care much) the age of the machince to get you buy a complete new unit.

Edited on Feb 25: I wanted to follow up on this matter. The Aire One service technician offered me two options to replace the furnace only or both the furnace and AC, which will cost me $3600 and $6000, respectively. I reached out another technician referred by my friend and he helped me to get the furnace company honor the warranty with no hassle (since this is really new) for the vent motor and everything is back to work within a few hours. I paid $120 to the service guy who talked to the furnace company and got it installed for me, plus a little handleing fees to the furnace company for the replaced vent motor. I saved at least $600 (if replacing the vent motor) to $5800 (if get a complete set from Aire One).
