Eclipse Roofing Ltd. is one of the best vendors we've had the pleasure of working with. We had already been approached by a roofer who misled us, and then called in Eclipse. We were impressed by their reviews -- both on Google and Homestars -- and by the support we received on the phone and via email. The operations manager, Reigh, couldn't have provided more info and support. Her first email included 5 attachments -- things like their WSIB insurance, liability insurance, Toronto Business Number, info on the difference in various shingles, etc. As soon as I received that email, we were convinced that Eclipse was a stellar company. Reigh even helped me get rid of the first incompetent roofer. From Reigh, we were introduced to the co-owner, Eduart (pronounced Edward). He came and did a quick inspection of the roof and confirmed that we needed a brand new roof. He is professional, qualified, empathetic, skilled, and a very nice man. He's worked hard to build this company and is incredibly ethical. Shortly after that, we received a very reasonable quote and were happy to sign off. And the warranty they provided was awesome. Eduart's team was just as professional and they were able to complete a very complex roofing job in just over one day. Everything worked against them -- it was too late in the season, the weather wasn't cooperating, and our roof is incredibly steep and high. But the team got it done while protecting our property and our neighbour's property on each side of our house. He then booked a follow up appointment to ensure we were happy and take receipt of payment. Eduart and everyone at Eclipse are beyond great. Two years ago, we used Green and Spotless for Duct Cleaning. They were awesome and Shane was a force of nature -- thorough, eager to explain the process; respected our home; and was a great guy. At that time, we learned that they also offered upholstery cleaning, and we booked such a cleaning in November of 2020 for a large sectional couch that hadn't been cleaned in at least 10 years. Alec and Devon were not only right on time, but they called and asked if it was convenient if they came early. We were happy they did. They were both professional, friendly, respected the COVID guidelines of masking and social distancing, and did an INCREDIBLE job on our couch. It looks brand new. They also protected our floors and reassured us that we would be happy with the results. We were! We also had a cushion whose zipper apparently broke, but they managed to repair it (not their job). I found Green and Spotless on Homestars, as I do with most of our suppliers/specialists. The reviews of the company were compelling, but more importantly, the reviews spoke about the "experience" of having someone from Green and Spotless in your home. They described the technicians as being respectful of your home and careful not to disrupt anything (as much as possible). And that the technicians had excellent interpersonal skills and were able to build a rapport with clients. In addition to that, their thorough duct cleaning and sanitation process goes far beyond what many duct cleaners offer. The technician who serviced our house, Shane, was EXCEPTIONAL. He was efficient, knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and provided us with tips that no one else had ever mentioned (including Enercare). I recommend both Shane and the company very, very highly.

Given we're not handy, we had a variety of jobs for someone knowledgeable to do. We found Glen on Homestars and he and his assistant changed a cartridge in our shower taps, caulked the bathtub, replaced the weather stripping on 2 doors, installed a mailbox on our stucco exterior and gave us several hints on things we could do ourselves. He never attempted to do things to make more money. He was honest, his fees are reasonable, and he's a pleasure to deal with. We'd definitely use Glen again. Thank you!

We were hit with two problems in one day - frozen pipes and blown electrical circuits because of our use of space heaters to defrost the pipes. I reviewed Homestars and was impressed with the number of positive reviews AC Electrical earned. And after contacting them, Steven was here within half an hour. He immediately knew how to correct the blown electrical circuits and got everything back online immediately. And to my surprise (and relief) he also knew a great deal about pipes and plumbing. He was able to determine that the main water shut off valve had been drywalled over by a previous owner, and explained that we needed access to both that valve and the area where the pipes froze. After leaving to get the materials, he made a couple of educated guesses and quickly found the shut off valve and frozen pipes. He warmed the pipes up with a blow dryer and then wrapped them in both a) a protective substance to help keep them warm; and b) a cable wrapped around the pipes that helps monitor and respond with heat to pipes that may be freezing. And within 2 or 3 hours of coming, we had hot water and access to that all important shut off valve. We consider ourselves lucky that although Steven is an electrician, he’s familiar with many other trades. As a result, we didn’t need to hire both an electrician and a plumber. We highly recommend this company because of their commitment to help and their knowledge.

We've been using Lawnsavers for 4 or 5 years now, and they have been stellar! They're organized, keep you informed, and constantly provide advice and input on how to maintain a perfect lawn. Most importantly, we had a terrible problem with raccoons, and their recommended grub management program (which they explained would take a few seasons to work) has made a tremendous difference in the raccoon population in our back yard. Their customer service is excellent, and they have never disappointed! We also appreciate the fact that they allow you to opt in or opt out of different services -- depending on how much time, money, and expertise you may have yourself. And in our case, none!!

The landing outside our front door and the steps leading down to the driveway were in serious need of repair. The interlocking bricks on the landing had collapsed, leaving a dangerous hole that people could stumble over. In addition, our wooden frame was rotting away and was very unsightly. The wood was full of holes and jagged chips -- from both the weather over the years and a recent rat infestation. The rats actually ate through the old wood and dug tunnels under the bricks that caused them to collapse. I got 3 quotes from different suppliers and explored a variety of options to ensure our steps were both safe and attractive. Rod offered up the most inexpensive and best option and he and his men treated our home as if it was their own. He noticed several other areas that posed dangers in the driveway -- places that either caused drainage issues or sink holes that could damage the underframe of cars. He went ahead and fixed these areas -- but told me first. And he didn't ask for any more money, even though it was clear his people had to work a few more hours. I CHOSE to pay Rod an additional $300. He didn't ask for it. He is an honourable, trustworthy and good man who believes in doing what's right and not what's easy. I would recommend his company in a heartbeat. We feel so lucky to have stumbled across this great company.

We suspected we had a mold and water problem in the house. A man named Aris showed up on time for an appointment and he quickly diagnosed the problem. We did NOT have a mold problem, and instead of taking advantage of us as other companies might, he was honest, helpful, and answered all our questions. And he didn't even charge for the service call! This is a great, honest, and honourable company. We strongly recommend them.

We can't say enough about the Pro Garden team, including Vito, Anthony, and the rest of their team. They were professional, provided a detailed quote, "got" our vision immediately, showed up on time, and worked incredibly hard to satisfy our "vision". They were accommodating, eager to make us happy, patient, and an absolute pleasure to work with -- one of the few companies where the customer really does come first. They completely revamped our backyard -- from total excavation of the existing and ugly plants to tarping and planting at least 20-25 brand new plants in their place. This included adding man made Antico rock edging to the back garden, adding a bright and beautiful mulch to the garden, and dethaching and seeding the lawn portion of the back garden. On a smaller scale, they did the same thing in the front garden -- adding new and more appropriate plants, appropriate mulch, and dethatching and seeding the front garden. Apologies for the delay in this review -- should have written it weeks ago. This company was a pleasure to deal with. They responded quickly, professionally, and humanely to a problem we had with a mother racoon and her babies in our garage. Both guys were great and we'll definitely be using them again. We highly recommend Superior Closets to anyone who wishes to renovate a basic closet or design something more sophisticated. Joseph came to provide a quote and made it clear he was delighted to have our business -- whether it was a large or small project. He turned an empty closet with no doors into a very flexible shelving space and also designed doors to allow us maximum access. His quote was bang on (and I suspect cheaper than most others) and his installer was excellent and very careful with our new hardwood floors. Minimal fuss, mess, and trouble, and maximum service. I highly recommend Superior Closets -- their attitude, service, and price make them stand above the rest.

Drew and his crew are talented, professional, committed, and an absolute pleasure to deal with. They painted the exterior of an extremely large stucco home for us and the quality of the work was superb. They treated the home like it was their own with caution and care. And despite the challenges they faced, they made the work seem effortless. Just as importantly, they are friendly, charming, easy-going guys who aim to please and have fun doing their jobs. Their relaxed attitude goes a long way in making their customers feel confident about the final product. And with Drew and his team, you can definitely feel confident that the job will be done and done right. My neighbour has already "stolen" the crew away for her own job, and I'm sure others on the street will use them as well. AAA+ results and wonderful to work with.
