We had a new exterior door and frame installed in an 85 year old house. Some of the old plaster fell apart during the door install. I contacted the Wall Doctor who provided quote quickly. The work was done soon after I agreed to the quote. The Wall Doctor worker who repaired the plaster around our doorway did an excellent job.

We invited Alkon to our house to see if they could improve some things which a previous contractor had done a little lazily. After Alex and Demitri inspected the issues they provided their ideas and cost. I accepted the offer, told them what my preferences were and they went to work right away. They were professional and fast and did a great job. Their ideas were great as was their work. They resolved 3 issues (installed new outlets and light switches while removing the previous shoddy work) in about 2 hours. We would hire them again for sure.

We needed a plumber to fix/re-do a lot of plumbing (drains and vents) from a previous renovation as the previous contractor did a poor job and the City would not approve it. This re-work required walls being opened, which he did neatly, and Chris cleaned up afterwards. We have used Chris before and will do so again as we feel that he does what he says he will do, and he doesn't take advantage of people.

We emailed a few companies asking for an estimate for new eavestroughs and downspouts. Tip Top provided the most detailed and professional estimate by far. It included sizes, grades, options, suggestions and the cost for each. Their price was a tiny bit higher than some but their longevity in this business and their informed estimate made the decision to hire them a no-brainer. Payment was easy and though I was not home they completed the job exactly as requested and cleaned up too.

The project was to renovate a small bungalow’s basement and the small kitchen upstairs. This contractor's ideas were decent however the execution of project was not to our satisfaction. Timelines were simply not close to being met. The contract states that the renovation would take approx 3 months from commencement yet it took 11 1/2 months. At this time the City Inspector issued an Order to Comply to the Contractor to remove the drywall and allow them to inspect the structural work. Conflict ensued when contractor failed to comply, at this point we ended our relationship with Par-Tek. The photos show what Par-tek believes is a suitable radiator installation (it isn't for more than the obvious cosmetic reasons) and how the pex pipe drill holes were improperly placed (far too close, and not centered on joist). It wasn't even the proper type of pex pipe for a heating system. Poor workmanship.

Sorry to say, this client was particularly challenging to work with.
The goal posts kept moving, for the entire project.
Constantly changing priorities and instructions, complemented by less-then-brilliant work by clients trades.
Client could not turn a screw diver. Literally.
We had great difficulty explaining the simplest of work scopes.
He could not appreciate the consequences of their changing demands on our budget and time.

A very difficult project.
I had wished for a much better result for both parties.
