In short...Ivano at New Image Group is AMAZING! Don’t waste your time looking anywhere else. Just call him, you will NOT regret it. If you have the time to continue reading, a detailed review...after replacing our oversized sliding door in our kitchen, we were in need of a covering. I went to several bricks and mortar locations, including some big chains and some independents. There was little guidance or recommendation (i.e. here’s a book of a thousand choices and colours, let us know what you want...P.S. someone coming to measure and install costs hundreds more) , even some bad suggestions (i.e. vertical stacking blind as pointed out later by Ivano). I was left unimpressed and continued looking. I’ve always checked homestars in the past for work on my home, so I thought why not. Ivano had excellent reviews and many repeat customers. Being in sales myself, these are always good signs. I called Ivano, he answered right away. Briefly told him what I was looking for and he asked when HE could come to ME! He would bring samples, take measurements, make recommendations...how refreshing (I struggle with decisions and need guidance). With 2 small kids that can be a distraction and get in the way, things like this are never easy at home...uninterrupted time could only be after bedtime at 8:30pm. Ivano “no problem, I’ll be there on a weeknight of your choice after 8:30pm”. Wow. So far so good. Ivano showed up on time on the day we decided. Right away, you notice how friendly he is (matches exactly how he is on the phone). He brought samples, colours, took some measurements and he quickly made some recommendations based on colour, reliability (horizontal over vertical) and then proceeded to show me several pictures and videos of many different jobs and similar styles he had installed. Normally I like to keep shopping around, but with Ivano’s knowledge, personality and his overall approach, I made the decision on the spot (did I mention he installs everything himself? No subcontractors). I would look no further. Decision made! (And I don’t make decisions easily). We decided on a remote motorized blind for the large kitchen sliding door. When finalizing, he suggested we do the kitchen window in the same style for a match (not in a pushy way at all, just a helpful thought)...a few hundred more, but it was a brilliant suggestion. we finalized the order, he said it might be a couple weeks. The next week he called well in advance of the expected date saying everything was ready and asked if he could install the same or next day. Wow. everything was installed, we were happy. As great as Ivano, was...here us where he shined. We noticed the sliding door blind rubbing slightly on one side when lowered. I contacted Ivano late one night, he said he would come by the very next day to take a look! He came by, made an adjustment and everything was fine fir a short while. The issue persisted a few more times. I contacted Ivano a total of 3 times for the issue and every time he replied right away and came by the very next day. Ivano eventually came to the conclusion that the door frame was not totally straight which was causing the issue (issue with the house and definitely not an issue with anything Ivano did). Ivano’s response, “let me take the blind back to the manufacturer and have it trimmed on one side to eliminate this from ever happening again. Again, wow. Talk about going above and beyond for clients?! He brought back the blind, re-installed it, tested it several times and everything looked and worked perfectly. Having 2 small kids, I rarely get time to do much, so leaving reviews is not something I often do (it’s taken me a few months to find time to write this). But honestly, with how great Ivano is, I had to make the time as leaving a review was A) very well deserved by Ivano and B) hopefully helps future people like me that turn to homestars for guidance looking for window coverings. I would only call Ivano for any future needs and I would recommend him to anyone I know as the only option to consider. You can shop around, but honestly save your time and peace of mind and call Ivano and only Ivano...you won’t regret it.

Dan at Medina Doors was excellent to deal with! I called him on a Sunday afternoon and he was quick to answer. He was by the very next day to take a look. He provided an estimate the following day to replace both garage doors (he called before noon as promised after checking on stock). The quoted price was very fair and Dan even suggested to use some of the existing parts to save on the cost. Dan arrived 2 days later and completed the install quicker than his estimated time. I would absolutely recommend Dan for any garage door replacement/repair.

We experienced a toilet leak on the 2nd floor of our home. Water started dripping through a small crack and upon further inspection (pushing/prodding the hole) I uncovered wet drywall over a space of about 2ft x 2ft. I cut out the wet drywall myself and then stared at a hole in my family room ceiling for several weeks, wondering how I could repair it to match the rest of the ceiling (after fixing the toilet of course). After much consideration, due to the sprayed stucco on the ceiling, I felt calling a profoessional would be the best route to patch the ceiliing and hopefully provide a close enough match to not notice the damaged area. I did a quick search online and found Mr. Stucco. They received good reviews from previous customers and their slogan said everything I was looking for (we fix ceilings!). I called Mr Stucco and they came out to give me a quote - one price for just patching and spraying stucco on the affected area and another price for fixing the affected area and then spraying stucco on the entire ceiling to blend in the patched area with the rest of the ceiling. They recommended the entire ceiling approach as it would provide a seamless look, where the patch job would stick out due to the colour and stucco of the surrounding areas. The price they quoted was fair given the required work and time involved to complete everything. After taking a day to decide, I contacted Mr. Stucco and advised them I would go with the entire ceiling approach and they were able to set up an appointment the next day! Mr. Stucco showed up (1 guy) and worked constantly from 8:30am-3:30pm. After everything was completed it looked fantastic! You can't even tell where the damaged ceilling/hole was before. I was especially impressed with how clean everything was after he was done - with spraying stucco on the ceilling, I was a little unsure what things would look like after completion - but everywhere else was spotless! We are very happy and satisifed with the work of Mr. Stucco and would definitely call them again if we ever had a similar problem in the future. Highly recommended.

After purchasing our house 2.5 years ago, we knew we were going to need to replace the 20 year old furnace and air conditioner. Baldwin and his crew arrived promptly on the day of install at the time he advised. They worked for the entire day, completing a very professional install leaving me VERY satisfied. Baldwin's price was very fair compared to all of the quotes I received. His crew was top notch and the install was as good (or better) than I had hoped for. In a job where the install carries just as much importance as the equipment itself, I was extremely happy with selecting Baldwin and Pacific Home Comfort. I would strongly recommend him to anyone and I would not hestiate in calling Baldwin again for any future needs.
