We found a house which we loved for the unique yard, sunroom and pool landscaping. Given the sale price we wanted to have a thorough inspection performed. During a showing to family/friends (after offer was submitted) I found water damage from what I believed were foundation cracks. My heart sank at the thought that I would moving 2 young kids and a newborn into a mouldy mess. I read reviews and placed calls in to various inspectors seeking someone extremely thorough and capable of taking IAQ samples if needed. I decided to go with Tom, as he was very responsive, professional, and knowledgeable in all correspondence we had, and boy was I glad I did. Tom spent 4 hours with me going through the home top to bottom, inside and out, and as much as it pains me to say this, I'll be booking Tom again this week (if all goes well). His confirmation with moisture readings and thermal allowed me to prove my case to the seller, but apparently not all of us are as demanding on the sanitary state of our children's dwelling so.....Tom, we'll be seeing you again soon. Part 1: Great experience thus far. Paul is punctual, extremely knowledgeable, and very candid - something I can really appreciate. We have been debating changing the carpeting throughout the house, and wanted to (as part of the process) have the ducts professionally end-to-end cleaned. Paul came ot the rescue, and earned my respect when on-the-spot, and at my door ready to start, he offered to do just the furnace upfront, and come back after the carpet was laid for the rest of the duct cleaning. Like me, he's a believer in building relationships with clients in order to secure long-term business, and word of mouth advertising. We are hoping that the carpets will be installed in the next 4 weeks or so, and will be able to have Paul back in to complete the rest of the work. I'll update with my final review then, but after our first meeting, I've raised the bar for Paul, and I'm convinced that he'll supersede those expectations as well. Part 2: Dated 7/25/2011 Beyond Excellence!!!! I made the mistake of having both Paul's team and Reliance Home Services in the home back-to-back, each one working in/aroudn the furnce. 2-3 weeks later when the time came to call on air conditioning, it became apparent there was a problem. Turns out someone had punctured the evaporator coil maliciously or otherwise in the plenum of the furnace. I was stuck without A/C in terrible temperatures, and the option Reliance provided was to spend $1200 on a new evaporator coil. Clearly this was frustrating beyond belief to me. I contacted the manager and 2 months later I've yet to hear back. While I don't think Paul's team had any guilt in the matter, he knew the situation for unfair all around, and assumed 100% ownership in finding a solution. Paul reached out a longtime friend in the commercial A/C servicing industry who operates his own company, and within 24 hours a team was onsite repairing the coil at no expense to me. Reliance was unwilling to even provide a repair quote, they only wanted replacement business. After 2 hours of work, the team completed the repair to my satisfaction, and provided me with lifetime warranty on their repair work. I've never seen a bill or invoice related to this, and as a result, Paul has not only won my continued business, but my respect. Needless to say I will cancelling my maintenance contract with Reliance as soon as I find a suitable replacement. I felt it only fair to share my story so that anyone willing to invest the time in researching a trustworthy, reliable professional in this industry can find Paul, as he's truly deserving of all of the success that I wish him. Oh, and a final point, the job done was flawless, but what did you really expect..... Thanks a million Paul, we're keeping cool, and I know that the air we're breathing is a little cleaner thanks to you. Marco Pizzolo Marco Pizzolo
