I've been with Hometurf for 5 years and the last two years have been a disaster. They are always 2-3 weeks late with the application of iron (aka "Fiesta weed control") compared to the companies that my neighbours are using. As a result of this, my neighbours' lawns are fine and we get uncontrolled growth of dandelions, which gets worse and worse every year. Yet, the weed control is the main reason I am paying Hometurf over $500/year for their services as you cannot really do weed control yourself. Hometurf used to be a decent company years ago, but they did a smart move back then - they offered discounts to customers who post 5 star reviews on Google, Homestars, etc. As a result, they got a lot of positive reviews, so they could cut on service standards and still get customers.

Mike, we're very sorry to hear you had a negative experience with Hometurf. Due to the unprecedented government shut down of our business, our team is working diligently to complete the overdue applications as quickly as our new staffing protocol allows.

Each and every one of our reviews are written by our many loyal customers. We service anywhere between 1,000 and 2,000 homes per day which tends to create a volume of reviews of all sorts.

If you could please leave us your contact information in a private message, we will send a technician out to your property right away.

I had Trevista 80 smooth paver in Glacier Creek color installed on my driveway 2 months ago. I was very happy with the look of it for the first 2 days when my cars were parked at neighbors driveway. As soon as I started using the driveway, I noticed noticeable tire tracks there. Considering that I've never seen tire marks on any of my neighbours' or friends' driveways, I called the company and tried to get an explanation. I was told that it's NORMAL, as there is white cement component in Glacier Creek and it may show some marks. I was asked a lot of stupid questions but never offered an apology. What pacified me is that I was told that next year when the driveway can be sealed, the tire marks can be cleaned off and will not reappear after sealing. However, after the heavy rain two days ago, I noticed some wet maple leafs that fall of the tree on my driveway. I noticed them in the morning and when picked them up there were big brown imprints under the fallen leafs. This would actually look nice (see pics) if it weren't a driveway. The worst thing is that you cannot get them off with wet or dry brush, whatever chemical is in these leafs easily penetrated paver surface. I cannot even imagine how my driveway will look in fall. After spending $15000 for the new driveway just 2 months ago, I am really upset with Best Way Stone, as their testing process for the new paver (Glacier Creek line started this year) is clearly inadequate. I am still undecided what to do, but certainly recommend you to stay away from Best Way Stone because of terrible quality and poor customer support.

After a huge disappointment with WeedMan we decided to switch to Hometurf this year. Overall, I am satisfied with their services, the lawn conditions have improved significantly (though it's hard to say whether it's due to their service or due to unusually cold and rainy summer in Toronto). We had to request 2 resprays though, as the initial applications missed many spots. They did respray, no questions asked, which is a credit to the company. Our program included spring overseeding and I was disappointed to see very little seed applied after aeration. I just went to Home Depot, bought more seeds and applied myself - if I am watering daily for 2 weeks I want to see some results... As mentioned above, I am overall satisfied with Hometurf, they are not ideal but good enough to keep for another year at least.

I called John to fix a minor problem with the furnace. He arrived to my house and, after looking at furnace for 3 min, told me that this is a major problem that will require a lot of work. Then he told me that my piping for hot water tank is not up to standard and issued the red tag (meaning that if it's not repaired within 20 days I will have gas disconnected). Then he told me that only he can clear this red tag... so it was poor extortion. Plus I got to pay $150 bill for his 3 min visit. Called another furnace technician next day, he charged me $115, fixed the problem with furnace (it was a minor tune-up) and cleared the tag, which apparently was issued "erroneously".

Simply terrible! They burned some spots on my lawn when applied anti-weed at a wrong time and then suggested fall overseeding. Ok, I agreed and paid for aeration and overseeding. In end Sept the technician came and left a notice that he performed aeration and overseeding and I should water daily for 3 weeks. After 3 weeks of daily watering, I noticed that nothing is growing and called the company. The supervisor (Bernie) showed up and told me that there was a mix-up and they actually didn't do any overseeding. He promised that they will do it in 2 weeks. Nothing was done. I requested a refund, no response. Then Bernie called and promised that they will do overseeding in spring. Well, it's mid April now, so I called them and spoke to Alvin, who introduced himself as a customer service manager. He told me yes, he can see in the notes "complimentary" overseeding but... I need to subscribe for their service plan for a year to be "eligible". So they screwed up last year, charged me almost $300 for a service they didn't deliver and now they want more money...? Ridiculous! All I can say is: stay away from WeedMan!
