The repairman arrived on time. He was courteous and efficient, not only explaining the problem and repair but showing me as well. This was my first time using this company, and i would certainly use them again. The only downside about this company is they must be very busy (a good sign, I thought) because I had to wait 4 days to get the appointment.

Chris and his crew completely renovated our 20-year old condo. Chris helped us to choose materials that would work best, always keeping the budget in mind. All flooring was replaced, entire unit painted, new bathroom cabinets, vanities, fixtures, new lighting throughout, kitchen cabinets painted, new kitchen countertops and fixtures. The workmanship is excellent and everyone is amazed at the home's transformation.

My condo had an ugly, oddly placed gas fireplace. Fireplace MD suggested a modified layout for the new fireplace, to maximize heat flow throughout the condo. They removed the old tile mantle, hearth and fireplace, and installed a much more efficient and attractive fireplace. Work was completed on time and on budget. A pleasure to work with.

Superior Bath renovated our bathroom, installing custom cabinets and tiles. Excellent workmanship. We are very happy with the results. Our only negative comment is that their workers cut the tiles in our garage, leaving the garage and everything in there covered with dust for us to clean up.

Captain Electric installed two exterior and two interior light fixtures. These were replacements of existing fixtures. I used Captain Electric a few years earlier and knew the professionalism and quality of the electricians and their work, so didn't shop around. Enrico told me the firm price before he and Kevin started the job. They worked efficiently and completely cleaned up after themselves. Working with Captain Electric is such a pleasure -- they are polite and professional. I highly recommend them.

Precise construction designed and installed interlocking stone patio and walkway. I had originally specified a plain rectangular patio with a straight walkway. Dave suggested a more interesting design with a curving patio and walkway. He and his crew competed the entire job in just two days. I appreciated the minimal disruption and have enjoyed how my backyard has been enhanced.

Thanks to Homestars I found Joe of Control Appliance Service. On a recent Friday night, my oven's bake element wasn't heating properly. I thought of buying a new element, but was intimidated by removal and installation instructions that I read on the internet. On Saturday morning I read reviews on Homestars and decided on Control Appliance. I phoned the company and left a message about my oven's problem. Shortly after Joe called and said he would be by in a few hours, and would call when he was on his way. Within a few hours, he called and arrived shortly after. Joe was in my home for only about 30 minutes -- quickly and efficiently diagnosing my oven's problem. (The clock wasn't working properly, which apparently affects the oven heat.) Joe replaced the clock with a new one that he had on his truck and gave me a 1-year written warranty on parts and labour; (Total cost ($226) was $120 parts; $80 labour; $26 HST.) If I had bought the clock at a store (for at least $120), there would have been only a 3-month parts warranty and I would have had to install it myself (LOL). Joe was so polite and tidy and my oven is working perfectly. I highly recommend Joe and his company.

On Thursday about noon, I contacted Rockbrune about a move for the next day. The short notice was because my originally scheduled moving company never bothered to show up on Thursday. Emily was extremely helpful over the phone and arranged the move for the next morning. The two movers worked quickly and efficiently, and were very friendly. Rockbrune really came through for me and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or use them again myself.
