So a bit of a good news/bad news story on these guys. I will say the initial sales process was pretty good. Matthew was quite responsive in setting up a time to inspect/quote and was good in getting packing boxes over. On moving day, a small hiccup to start the day (They had the wrong starting address, so the start was delayed by an hour), but the crew was excellent, very personable, and professional. The move itself went quite well, including unpacking both the truck as well as a Pod that we'd had packed from a previous move. I'd say they fell down a bit in the after-sales support. My move included a donation to Furniture Bank that was supposed to come with an income tax receipt. After several months of not receiving the receipt, I'm still following up with them. The person I was dealing with left and my issue wasn't transitioned to anyone. I'm now trying to deal directly with Furniture Bank. On balance, I'd recommend... Sometimes you just need to fight for that last 10% (and two stars!)

We woke up this morning to a decidedly frosty air in our house as the furnace had quit. Visic Brothers was the installer labelled on our furnace so we gave them a call. Our call at 730am was promptly answered and a visit was scheduled for the morning. Mario arrived around 11am and promptly got to work. After a small argument about my CO detectors he set to work. The furnace was fixed quickly and the heat was restored. While the cost seemed reasonable, by only complaint was that it wasn't mentioned either in my original call, nor until the work was done. I did get a fair recommendation about the need for a proper cleaning which could wait until the Spring. I'm happy to support local businesses so would recommend Visic in the future.

Had a small job redoing the shingles on two small roofs at the back of the house. I was having a hard time getting folks to quote on it due to the small size. Through Home Depot, the estimator from HD came out very quickly. Once the quote was confirmed, it took them almost two weeks to call to book (and in fact they were trying to fit me in the next day - fair enough given the small size of the job). When completed, both roofs look great, the site was completely cleaned up and the bin taken away that day.

I ordered 3 bags of top soil and a palette of sod for a backyard re-do. One small glitch as they delivered the sod two weeks earlier than the agreed delivery date, but one quick call and they immediately returned to pick it up. When it was delivered (on the right day), the sod was in great shape and clearly cut in the last 12 hours. They even offered to move my car (I wasn't home) in order to put the sod closer to the backyard.

Needed to replace a concrete retaining wall between my property and the neighbours. It was going to be a difficult job. The access was very limited to the backyard to bring in equipment, the wall was big (<10ft high including footings at its max), and the yards were tight for the excavation. Nick gave a very competitive quote. He was able to start the work in the fall, and completed it, including final clean-up in about 2 weeks. The wall looks great, the yard was nicely restored, and clean-up was timely.

We moved in to a new house and wanted to make sure the chimney was in good working order. Magic Touch was able to set up an appointment for the next day. The technician was very professional. The chimney was cleaned with a minimum of fuss, and the area was cleaned up completely.

We were replacing a deck on our newly purchased house and wanted to get the deck done over the Winter so it would be ready for us in the Spring. Interviewed 3 contractors, including Delta Decks. Quote was very detailed and the price was comparable to the other quotes. Alex was very helpful and provided a couple of good ideas that we ended up incorporating in to the design. Construction got started in early December. The old deck came down in a day and the footings for the new deck were started. Things didn't go quite as quickly as we all hoped as the city had a pretty bad Winter, but Alex and team were great. They stuck with it (between major blizzards) and the deck was complete in early February. The site was cleaned up nicely, with hardly a trace that there'd been a construction team there. The crew was very professional and did an excellent job. Everyone who comes over raves about the deck. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Delta Decks.

This was my 3rd time using these guys. My last move was a doozy, with hoists required to get furniture in to a 3 story townhouse so I wanted someone I could trust to get us moved out. I had three companies quote and Tender Touch was very competitive, especially after the repeat-customer discount. Maria was very helpful. On moving day they showed up on time with 5 guys and 2 trucks. Very personal and professional crew. They all introduced themselves and took great care in packing up and loading the truck. At the new house, the same care was taken in the unload. Alas a few hoists were required at the new location, and even after working hard for the last 5-6 hours, they threw themselves in to the task. The only caveat is that I'm always surprised by the final bill. Still reasonable, but it's always been a good 20-30% higher than the original quote. They seem to under-estimate the time to keep the estimate low. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the. To friends and family.
