We purchased thin bricks from Stone Selex for our new fireplace. Their sales/customer service were patient and helpful in making our choice decision. They quoted an installation price as well. We checked other installers and selected a contractor (Ram) who advertised on Kijiji as the price was cheaper. Ram arrived on time, set up and proceeded to brick the fireplace. After a few hours we noticed the bricks were not level and advised him. He explained it was the irregularity of the bricks. He continued and the crookedness got worse. We complained again and he responded with noticeable anger saying his wife and child were both sick and he had to go. He would return the next day and fix everything. He asked to be paid 1/3 of the cost as we had agreed. When he did not show up next day we text him. He did not reply until the evening stating he was sick and would return next morning. We told him we did not want him to come. We had to clean up the mess he left. We contacted Karen at Stone Select and asked if they could finish the job. She called us and told us they would be happy to do the work at approx cost first quoted and supply additional bricks as needed as they had to tear down the already installed bricks and start over. Andriy from Stone Selex came, covered furniture and floors, explained what he would do and quickly got to work. He used a laser level and created a level masterpiece that looked amazing. He grouted the bricks, cleaned up the fireplace, checked everything, cleaned up and was finished by around 5:00PM. He did it all in one day. We are so grateful that Stone Selex saved our fireplace. Karen used extra effort in scheduling and pricing to mitigate the mess left by Ram the sloppy inexperienced original contractor we first selected. Thank you Stone Selex. Much appreciated.

We decided to move to be closer to our wonderful daughter our awesome grandson and our fabulous grand-kids (she insisted and we gave up). This was our 10th move in 55 years. We had downsized but still had sooo much stuff that we carefully packed over a 6 months. Philip and his men arrived on time and took time to carefully examine the stuff we had and explain the time line which was 2 days. He told us we would sleep in our new house that evening. They would set up our bed and unpack our hanging clothes. I was amazed how efficiently the team worked and at the flow of their constant energy all with a smile and extra effort and care. The first day they loaded the moving van to the roof and a pup trailer as well. They unloaded everything set up beds, placed all the rugs and and filled the closets and bid us good-night and told us they would be loading again at 9:00am. Needless to say they loaded the rest up and were finished in the afternoon of day 2. They had to re-arrange some furniture as my wife changed her mind as usual. They left us with hundreds of boxes (120 boxes of books alone) to unpack. A year later we are still unpacking. Even though the move happened a year ago we still remember this as the best move we ever did with absolutely the best moving team ever. Philip and his team are the most professional and enthusiastic group of guys and win the Blue Ribbon as No. 1 of all the movers we have used over the last 55 years. Thank you Philip and team for doing a great job. We wish you all many many more successful and safe moves.

I purchased a fireplace advising them that a licensed installer friend of mine would install it. At the time of purchase I did not know what length of venting kit I would need. The President of Appleby, who I dealt with told me to get a 2 foot through the wall vent kit and advised me that if it was to short he would exchange it and I would pay a bit more. The installer came to view the fireplace and advised I would need a 4 foot vent kit. When I contacted Appleby the president said he would order the pipe. After a couple of days I contacted the president at which time he advised me that he would not take the two foot pipe back as it was too much hassle for him to do so. I am now the proud owner of a 2 foot Regency vent kit which cost Approx $400. I contacted Regency the fireplace manufacturer in Vancouver BC who said they do no get involved as this is an issue between me and the dealer. I tried to sell it but no was interested.

As usual I searched Homestars and found Potlight Experts information and employed them for this project. To start I called Hussein and he gave me costs and in detail explained what he would do. Hussein and his team Nino and Rena arrived right on time. They put covers on floors and furniture, carefully moved furniture etc., as needed and worked quickly doing all the installations. The price included all the Potlights, dimmer switches, wires and receptacles. They were net and tidy, constantly cleaning as they progressed. They all communicated well, had great attitudes and smiles and even made adjustments to chandelier heights when asked. They aimed to please and they did. We would have given them more than 5 Stars if we could. We highly recommend them.
