Talk about professionalism, service and standing by their work (and in this case fixing an issue caused by another company). It is now 2021, almost 4 years to the day that I wrote my first recommendation for Turnbull Roofing & Renovations Ltd. and I have had some minor issues come up with some aluminum flashing pulling away from the house and some small shingle pieces that have come off a mostly decorative external sloped roof surrounding my garage and porch flat roof. This sloped roof was done by Turnbull in my original job in 2017 and then the flat roof had to be replaced by another company in 2019 because Turnbull doesn't specialize in Flat membrane roofing (believe me I contacted them first to ask). Anyway, I sent an email with some photos showing the issues I am having to Turnbull and explained that the 2nd roofing company installing the flashing as part of their work may have caused the problems. I ask if they could come take a look when they have time and provide me with a cost to fix. (The other roofing company most responsible wouldn't even return any of my calls or texts after several attempts over months). However, Turnbull responds to my email the very next day offering to come out and take a look a couple days later. Then they end up calling me to say they looked at the photos will instead come that same week and do the repairs and do a general once around to confirm that all is good elsewhere. To top it off, they say I am covered by the warranty and there won't be any cost. Wow...thank you Turnbull Roofing & Renovations Ltd. I am so impressed by the response from Turnbull roofing. It is so refreshing to deal with such a professionally run family business that exceeds customer expectations. I see why Turnbull Roofing has such a great reputation. I am so glad I choose Turnbull Roofing back when I had my new roof installed in late 2016.

I wanted to apply for an Ontario microFIT solar installation contract so I sought out proposals for solar installations and support/assistance with the microFIT application process. I received 8 proposal from both larger well know and smaller less know companies. I short listed to 3 and based on reviews and reputation I narrowed down to EthoEnergy and one other potential partner. Daniel was so amazing to deal with and he was patient with my many questions. They know their stuff and it clearly showed the depth of their experience with various solar installations both large scale and home rooftop. Their pricing was very competitive compared to the others and they took a slightly different approach from the other potential vendors to ensure the system capacity was maximized. Now 8 months later I have to update this review and I am sorry to say their implementation was not smooth. It faced long delays, and although I did get the Microfit contract and the installation was done enough so that I could be generating power to ensure I didn't lose the Microfit; however, it is still not fully functioning, the panel monitoring is not set-up, squirrel guards not installed yet and I am only consistently registering 23 out of 28 panels. I am not sure if the fault is with company as a whole or with the implementation manager assigned to my project. Overall it has left me generally satisfied with the installation, but not satisfied with how they handled and are handling the implementation. Something that started out so well has seemingly been really mismanaged and made me regret choosing Etho over the very close runner up.

Great crew and company to work with. I have never seen a crew work so hard and be so conscientious. Special shout out to Scott the crew lead. Their cleanup was fanatical! Steve was excellent to deal with and really listened to any concerns or requests I had. They also did a great job re-insulating the roof and installing new baffles as well. Special shout out to Trudy for administrative support. Great company I would highly recommend.

I used HomeStars to review different Duct Cleaning companies. I had met some at the Durham Home Show as well. After reviewing all the options and quotes, I narrowed down to two companies both highly rated on HomeStars. I selected The Duct Cleaning Specialists in the end primarily because they offered a full range of services including cleaning of the bathroom ceiling fans. Paul was very helpful on the phone answering all my questions and after I had selected them and accepted the price quoted, he provided a further bundled discount to save me additional money. Again this was after I had already accepted the quote. When it came to the service, his two team members arrived on-time, very pleasant and professional, hard workers and completed the extensive work as expected (all vents, A/C/blower/CVAC/dryer & bathroom fans). No surprises, no additional charges, laid down flooring protection, etc. What more could one want from a duct cleaning company? I would highly recommend Paul and his company.

The spring on one of our 2 garage doors broke. We look at reviews and call for prices and Durham Doors was the best for responsiveness and price. They came the same day and fixed it for the price they said. Very nice transaction I will use them again and highly recommend them.

Direct Energy called proactively to arrange my annual furnace maintenance and inspection as part of the Heating protection plan we pay for. They allowed me to select the date and select a 4 hour time window for the maintenance to be carried out. Service technician came during this scheduled window, put protective covers/slippers over his footware as he came into our house to complete the maintenance. Afterwards he reviewed the work, the findings, provided some answers to some questions that I had. Quick, efficient, polite and quite quite. I was pleased with the service, his advice and answers to my questions. I would recommend the benefits of the annual inspection and heating protection plan for older furnaces like the one we have.

Dave provided the service just as I had expected and included lots of value added advice and suggestions. There were were no hidden costs. Dave plus one of his team came to the house and laid out carpet/flooring protectors before they started the job. Dave explained everything they were going to do, and even remembered my comments about our air conditioning not feeling like it was working during our initial phone conversation. Once on site, he provided lots of advice on how to balance the cold air returns to ensure the central air conditioning plus the furnace worked optimally to pull as much air from the upstairs as possible. They systematically work from floor to floor, duct to duct to thoroughly clean the hot air ducts, then the cold air returns and finally the main ductwork off from the furnace & A/C. I have had many duct cleanings done in previous houses I have owned, but compared to the process and effort of Dave and his team, this was by far the most professional and value added service I have experienced. So often when having work done on your home, you never quite feel like the service received was what you expect, but with MedAir I can honestly say I received exceptional service, and advice and an extremely positive experience. I will definitely refer Dave and his company again.
