We got many quotes, but decided to go with Tropical since they were recommended by our mould remediation company and quote was reasonable. Walter was accommodating with our schedule, and Gino did a great job with the installation. He even invited me to see the attic prior to closing the hatch, and reassured me the airflow in the attic was restored properly (which was a great concern after having mould removed and ventilation work done by roofers!) Everything went as planned and we are satisfied with the results. Thank you!

After discovering mould in our attic, I called Mr.Roof Repair to do an attic inspection and give us recommendations on preventing future mould growth after the mould remediation. We had used them in the past and were pleased, and once again they did not disappoint. After inspecting the attic, Pietro and Dan gave recommendations for improving the ventilation, and we went ahead and scheduled the job. Once the weather cooperated, they were able to do the work. Pietro and Dan were very professional and after the work was complete they took the time to explain everything and address our concerns. They also took many pictures and included it on the report so we could see everything that was done. That evening, my husband noticed that one of the bathroom fans (which they had replaced previously) did not have good suction. I notified them and they came right back to address the problem. It was actually nothing to do with their work, but they fixed it anyway and also replaced the hose as a precautionary measure. It is good to know they care about their customers and are there for you even after you've paid your bill :) Thank you Pietro, Dan, and the office team - all very professional and prompt and a pleasure to deal with. We got a number of quotes for attic mould removal, one of which was from GeoFocus which I had found on HomeStars. Laura, operations manager, was quick to respond to all my questions, and their approach to remediation seemed the most efficient and reasonable for our needs so we went ahead with them. The job was scheduled in a timely manner, the technicians very professional, and I appreciated that they took great care to ensure our new hardwood floors did not get scratched. They took many pictures to show us exactly what they did inside the attic. A month after the remediation, I had a roofer (unrelated 3rd party) come to do work in the attic to improve the ventilation. They also confirmed the mould remediation was done very well, which gave us reassurance that GeoFocus did a great job! Thank you!

We had Jason come out to give us a quote to top up our insulation in preparation for the cold months ahead. Similar to another review I read, we too were told he could not do the job due to mold. Although the mold was contained in a very small area (approximately 3'x3' area in the back of the attic), Jason said they are not insured to go into the attic to do the job if there are any signs of mold. Even though he determined they could not do the job, he took the time to explain to me some possible causes of the mold and answered questions I had about insulation. I was quite surprised to hear about the mold, because we had 2 other insulation companies give us quotes and nobody noticed (or didn't care that it existed and just wanted to blow insulation in anyway?!?!). We are now dealing with mold removal services and looking into options for improving ventilation in the attic so we will hopefully never have this issue in the future, and are so grateful that Jason brought this to our attention. Unfortunately they cannot come back to insulate even after the mold is removed, but for anyone looking for insulation, I highly recommend having them come to look at your attic and give you an honest opinion and quote. We called Louie to get a quote since he had great reviews on HomeStar and we rely on it. Louie came out to the house and gave us a reasonable quote for the job, and was very patient with us and requoted as we kept changing the scope of the job a few times before we committed (which rooms would be included). He came with his crew at 7:30am on the day that he promised. They protected all the floors and walls and some furniture as promised, and sealed up the rooms and vents so the dust would be contained. He even moved some of the big furniture although that was not part of the deal (thank you!!!) The crew was pleasant and worked very hard and got the job done on time. They cleaned up on the last day and our ceilings look smooth and beautiful. Even my picky husband (who usually finds flaws in everything we get done) was satisfied with the work. Thank you Louie and team for making our house look brighter and more beautiful!! It is a messy process but totally worth it :) We will recommend them to our friends looking to get popcorn removed!
