For the past 4 years I had an opportunity to work with JJ and his team on three different occasions. We renovated kitchen, washroom and recently he fixed our floors in our condo. Firstly he is a professional that you can trust, he will make suggestions that are beneficial not for him but for you in the long run. He managed the project and the quality, brought the right SMEs when required and always was open and reachable for many questions we had during the process. Additional people hired him in our building and they were all very happy with the results. I highly recommend him as your contractor.

I opened a job in HomeStars and after several days received a response from Tim. He was very prompt on responding to my messages and we agreed on a date he is going to arrive. I was a bit surprised that Justin showed up instead of Tim. I had several issues that had to be addressed: 1. Replace the toilet mechanism because of a leak (I had the new parts) - was replaced without any issues. 2. Slow drainage from walk in shower. The plumber assumed that he can snake and resolve the issue; however, after close examination he concluded that the whole set up will have to be rebuild because it wasn't accessible. I was given a quote of $5.5K to do shower stall overhaul. 3. Hot water pressure in a shower. Justin assumed that the issue is the cartridge and he replaced it with a new cartridge that I had available. However, the issue was not resolved, it became even worse. He suggested that the only other 2 options were either to replace the valve (but for that you need to break the tiles to reach "...a box.." ) or to replace the whole faucet system. Eventually I was left with barely working shower and a suggestion to replace the whole thing. A month later I invited a general contractor to discuss the replacement of the whole shower system. He said that replacing everything is of course an option, but he said there are things to do before that which will probably solve both outstanding problems and save a lot of money. He explained that valves are easily replaceable and explained what needs to be done. He also talked about getting a commercial drainage cleaner and use it instead of the regular ones you can buy in a store. Surprise surprise, we solved the issues on our own without paying thousands of dollars. There were no box and it was all easily accessible. So in my opinion it was a lack of knowledge and practical experience from a plumber that left me with no choice but to replace everything. I wasn't given any other option but this. If I am paying for services I better get the best advice and not go to the last resort of replacing everything. If you do decide to go with this company make sure you are getting an experienced person.

I had a problem with the hot water stream in my shower. After reading some websites I understood that I probably need to replace the cartridge in my shower faucet. I found a good review about this company on some online forum and I decided to contact them. I got a quick response and I was provided with a quote. I booked the appointment hoping that this will be resolved quickly. Unfortunately, although the plumber did arrive and was able to pull out the cartridge he couldn't identify it or find a replacement. He suggested using CLR to clean it, which unfortunately, didn't help. After several weeks of hunting I eventually was able to find a replacement, it was a Canadian Company - Riobel, who was the manufacturer of the faucet. I am giving them 7 and not 10 because of the knowledge gap. I would expect for Canadian plumber to know Canadian manufacturers.

Hi, thank you for your feedback. No, that is right, we would never recommend CLR. It never solves the problem, so we are glad that you found the cartridge. When there is a name on the plate or/and the homeowner knows the name of the faucet, we always recommend to call the manufacturer and ask if they can help. That is the most efficient way to get the problem solved because they will send a replacement cartridge, sometimes even for free. Some of the time, if the name is on the plate, or there is no name, it can be really tricky to get the cartridge since we cannot always find it in suppliers or the cartridge is really expensive. So in some cases we recommend to the customer to change the faucet as a solution. There are different approaches and it is up to the customer to decide which way to take. After my last encounter with the cleaning company I was a bit skeptical. I decided to give it a try and I've been very happy with the result so far. First of all Mona's are very organized and send you a reminder of your cleaning appointment. Second, usually you have one person who contacts you and knows about your needs and appointments. I decided to go with the Essentials service and I am very pleased. I never liked the idea of people doing my laundry or replacing my sheets so Mona's service was a good fit. I warned them from the beginning that I have a small dog at my apartment so they send me Donna. She is amazing, my dog bonded with her right away and I know that even if I leave her when the cleaner is coming I can trust that both of them will be fine. Finally, the cleaning results, I couldn't be happier. No complains or remarks, she understood what needs to be done right away - a real professional.

This was my third time using the company, the first two times were amazing. So I decided to order their services for my condo post renovations. Unfortunately it wasn't the same, to say the least. 2 days before the scheduled date the estimate for the services suddenly risen by 100%. Try to find a cleaner end of July when everybody move. I gave specific instructions via email to find out that their were ignored. Some things were overlooked although I specifically asked to be extra thorough in washrooms. All in all, I think they are overwhelmed with work and don't have time to look into details of each order. They did offer to perform an extra clean up after I complained and were supposed to call me to finalize the date. The crew arrived unexpectedly to my condo the next day without any warning just to find out that my dog was there so they couldn't clean the apartment. This proved to me again that they don't pay attention and there is a lot of mess going on; too many people are dealing with clients and you get responses from 5 different people.

Dear Igor, We are sorry that you feel that the move in/post reno cleaning was not up to our regular standards. I understand that you were concerned about the top of the shower head not being cleaned and smudges on the windows and handles were dirty. We had advised you that the crew would do their very best because you had contractors and movers in the same day as our cleaning crew, the windows were cleaned as well as the door handles - but because other people in the unit were moving boxes and other items and placing them near walls and the windows our crews will not keep going back and forth cleaning up after others have dirtied the areas that you mention.

We had set up a re-do cleaning for you after you had said that there were smudges on the windows which were made after our crew had cleaned we were confirmed with you by phone and email correspondence- the crew arrived and went to the concierge for him to open the door to your unit - because your dog had started to bark and was very disturbing to your neighbors the concierge was the person who did not let the crew inside to do the cleaning.
