From first contact to the last day of the job George kept his word on everything he said and exceeded all expectations I had. Many of you will know that this is very far from the norm in the home services and contracting business. George's quote was very reasonable and he started the very next day after I signed. He arranged the whole thing including next day delivery of the materials. He said it would take 8 to 9 days start to finish and it took exactly 9 days. The best part is the awesome job that he did in my basement. The walls and ceiling are flawless! George is a true professional and I recommend him without reservation.

Adrian came by on the same day I called for a quote. He assessed the job and provided a quote that was a great deal less expensive than the big company that quoted the same job at "preferential" pricing that I paid a premium for last time I dealt with them. He arrived exactly when he said he would. He explained everything that he would do and supplied a very high end self-draining exterior faucet (not something the "big" company even mentioned). He did a beautiful job and made sure that no mess was left behind and most importantly, he was polite, professional and engaging. Highly, highly recommended.

Mr. Rooter is a very professional outfit, no argument there but I really got the sense that the job they did was less than stellar and more importantly, was very expensive. The job took less than two hours and involved about two feet of PVC pipe and two elbows totaling maybe $10.00 in material. $350per hour is a pretty high cost for a plumbing technician. Like a fool, I actually bought a program that allegedly gives me a break on pricing for future jobs. This week I got a quote from them to move a pipe and add a new outdoor faucet. All very straightforward in the joist area of an unfinished basement. No chance for time consuming complications. The quote seemed very high to me so I got a second, smaller company to quote and it was $250 less ($400 instead of $650). This, in spite of the fact that I am getting "preferential" pricing! I will bet that the job will take less than two hours again bringing Mr. rooter in at somewhere near $400/hr. No disrespect but I wouldn't pay my lawyer that.

I can't speak for their kits but I paid a very high premium for their shed plans because I wanted all the detail and accuracy I could get. I assumed that for $169.00 I would get just that considering that most on line shed plans go for about $15.00. Boy was I wrong! The plans are filled with measurement errors that have cost me dearly so far and I must now recalculate everything since their attention to detail and accuracy is so far off. The instructions are scattered around, incomplete and contradictory. Do not even think about getting plans from these people. You will regret it, I assure you. P.S. When I called to get clarification and inform them of some of the bigger mistakes, they didn't seem to care at all. STAY AWAY!

I found Derek's Tree Service here on Homestars. I could see that he had a lot of reviews and all of them perfect tens. I gave him a call and he came out to do an assessment the next day. I like that. He quoted me a price to take down both trees, grind the stumps and superficial roots and remove all the debris. It was not nearly as expensive as I thought it would be so I signed him up. It was a very busy time for him and so he said it may take a week or even two before he could fit it in his schedule but he called me the next Tuesday and arranged to bring his team in on that Thursday. Thursday morning, on time, he arrived with a team of six guys and took care of those two trees in about and hour and a bit. They cleaned up as promised and off they went. This is the kind of experience you have when you are dealing with a professional that knows how to run a business. I recommend Derek's Tree Service very highly. You will not be disappointed.

Patrick (Great Wood Solutions) did a complete renovation of our kitchen and adjoining family room including wall and bulkheads removal, electrical, plumbing, painting, flooring etc. He promised a start date and a completion date which I considered very optimistic. In spite of some significant structural complications that could not have been foreseen, he did it all on schedule and professionally. His price was not the lowest but extremely competitive (not even close to the highest) but most important, he proved to be honest, reliable and a complete gentleman in every respect. Patrick says what he will do and does what he says. It was a complete pleasure dealing with him and I would highly recommend Great Wood Solutions.

Contacted Joe Oliveira because of the positive reviews I saw on this website. This was one of the luckiest choices I made during a fairly large renovation of our home. He and his staff turned out to be very professional, cheerful, honest, flexible and committed. We made a number of late changes (while Clareville was constructing our cabinets)and Joe didn't even blink. He just changed it to meet our needs (or whims). The finished product is gorgeous. We chose a painted maple design and you will not beleive the flawless laquer finish on these cabinets. I can't stop staring at them. Clareville Kitchens is a smaller custom cabinetmaker and has a very personal approach to their customers. I can also tell you that the price is not what you would expect for this high a quality. You will feel guilty when you write the cheque. You will not be disappointed with Clareville.

I considered several companies that quoted for the job but once I talked to Kaz, I knew that he was the right choice. He had great solutions to some complications with the job and made suggestions that no one else did and they worked out great. Kaz and Ziggy were very professional, on time and efficient. Real craftsmen. I would recommend Wood N Floor to anyone needing expert hardwood installations.

Michael is very, very professional and exceptionally accomodating not to mention an excellent craftsman. The crown moulding he installed is beautiful and the materials he uses are top-notch. It's hard to believe how much difference a nice crown molding makes to the appearance of a room. There is a very high asthetic return for relatively few dollars. Highly recommended.

We needed all new eaves and downspout and the facia was badly stained by overflow from the old eaves. Also the drainage scheme needed to be improved. Scott answered all my questions and set up the installation which was executed exactly as planned. The crew did a beautiful job. Overall, a great experience for us.
