Over the past two years Ive had a whole house air source Carrier heat pump and a Rinnai water heater installed by Maple Air. In addition there were some repair and maintenance calls. My decision to no longer work with Maple Air comes from the totality of all of my dealings with them. Heat Pump Issues When asked, the installers said they would be done. 6pm. They left at 11pm. No updates. Not communicative. Thats just nuts. After they handed me the Invoice, I went to have a look. I had to point out that the duct work was not put back together. This was glaringly obvious. Worst of all, the install was done incorrectly. There was a terrible rattling sound when fluid moved through the heat pump. Maple had to come back twice to fix the issue. Water Heater I was given an arrival window of 9-11am. 11am arrives and Ive not heard from Maple Air despite Maple Air telling me that I will get a call 30 minutes before their installers arrive. No call, the installers arrive at 11:30am. They brought the wrong unit and didnt realize it until they were gluing pipes to it. While one guy goes to exchange the unit the other guy plays loud music on his phone next to my office. Left clearly visible nails on the floor Left behind their own nails While working on the side of my house they crushed a horizontal eaves trough that moves water away from the house. They denied doing this and offered to reimburse me for the cost of the part. Not sure whether that includes the $50 delivery charge as a 10 part does not fit in my vehicle. Their sales guy claimed that Rinnai offered a $100 voucher for my water heater. True, nut not nearly as easy as they made it out to be. They kept sending me to a link that only works for people in the US. Eventually, their sales guy had to drive to my house to hand me the paper voucher. Why direct me to an unworkable web site multiple times. Its as if they had never done this before. Mistakes happen. Yes. But after a while a pattern develops and you see that attention to detail is not a Maple Air strong suit. One of the reasons I chose Maple Air was that they had the Carrier® President's Award. After my experiences with Maple Air Im not sure what that really means. Nevertheless, there are at least five other Carrier® President's Award dealers in the GTA. Time to give them a try.

Their stucco people are very skilled. I had issues with some other work that they did, but we worked through the problems together to arrive at mutually beneficial solutions. I would use them again.

Greensaver was tasked to do two things at my home. 1) Add insulation to my attic 2) Soundproof the furnace roof Greensaver prepared an estimate after Greg visited my home. He personally inspected the furnace room and prepared a quote for the soundproofing work ($250). Weeks later when the workers came to do the job, they REFUSED to do the soundproofing work. I'm not 100% sure why but I think it was because this particular employee was a little large around the waist. Greg later reaffirmed that the employee should not have refused to do the work (no kidding!). However, he refused to honour his original agreement of $250 to send different people back to do the work. He claims that there is a minimum charge of $500 to show up at a home. And because $250 < $500 he won't do the job. Needless to say, this was: - A job that his company SHOULD have done at the same time when they did the attic (for $2,800 I might add!) - A job that was not done because of the actions of a Greensaver employee Greensaver fails to see that this is a problem of their own creation and wants me to pay for the misbehavior of their prickly employees. I do not agree. Clearly, honouring their original commitment to me means nothing to Greensaver. All they care about is the mighty dollar. So, in keeping with this I would like to send a message to Greensaver the only way that they can understand. Think about what kind of people would make this decision and whether you would trust them with your home. If you are persuaded to NOT CONTACT Greensaver please send an email to law9723@gmail.com with an estimate of the amount of work that you need done. I hope to send $25,000 of business to the competition. Let's see what happens. Thanks.

The handyman came and installed the medicine cabinet. However, he made a mistake. By measuring wrong the screws that held in the wood to hold the cabinet were visible. The plan was to have the edge of the cabinet cover the screw heads. The screw heads were plastered over but, of course, it is still very visible. It's annoying because I now have the cost of painting the wall which was unanticipated an unnecessary if the job was done properly. Also, I have a newborn so I am not painting any time soon. Mistakes happen. However, the owner of this franchise knew of this issue and did not proactively reach out to me to make it right. I called almost a week later and at that point he offered 25 "Handyman Bucks" not dollars. 6.25% of the cost of the job. He thought it was generous, I did not. All in all, a disappointment.

A second floor vent in my house had no airflow. I didn't know how to tackle this. My regular furnace guy and energy audit people didn't want to deal with such an open ended problem. Paul was eager and his attitude was great. Think about it, no air from the top floor to the basement. Where do you start. Paul diagnosed the problem perfectly. Drilled in to the ceiling at the perfect place with very minimal damage and fixed the duct. The air flows again. It is rare that I meet someone so competent in their field. Any field. If you care about quality, Paul's your man.

I don't recommend Maple Leaf for furniture refinishing - they do wicker stuff as well, which I have no comment on. Everything from customer service to communication to the work itself makes this a company to avoid at all costs.
