We hired Elite to take care of some architectural concrete features on our modern home remodel. It was our first time working with Elite and won't be our last. Their office staff and field crews are all great people. Their field crews were very professional, wearing PPE when necessary and extremely skilled. It was a pleasure to be around others who are truly passionate about what they do. The Elite team exceeded our expectations! They brought our architectural renderings to life. They built an architectural concrete wall, cantilevered steps, veneer porch, basement slab and new porch slab. The key detail that they did on the stairs is unbelievable. I'm a real estate investor and contractor. I am converting a single family home into a duplex with a legal rental apartment in the basement. The basement walls were framed with 2x4's with a one inch gap between the foundation walls. After doing much research I found WALLTITE ECO™ was the best product to use. I was able to achieve an R 20 value and bring a home that was built in the 50's up to today's building standards. Using Roxul insulation I would have had to construct the walls out of 2x6's in order to achieve an R 20 value. One of the benefits of using spray foam is it speeds up the lengthy renovation process. A job that would have normally taken 2-3 days using batt insulation was done in 5 hours. No 6 mil poly or tuck tape was needed for a vapor barrier! We have noticed a huge difference in the home's efficiency now. I had to close a few vents in the basement because it was too hot. Which is a huge difference compared to the old drafty basement. I also took advantage of Enbridges Home Energy Conservation Program. Getting the spray foam done contributed towards my $1,600.00 rebate. It also helped improve the homes energy score from 50 to 70 out of 100. The installer Scott was very experienced and made his job look easy. It is an art to spray the foam evenly. With that being said buyer beware when getting spray foam installed. If it's done by a inexperienced contractor you can have a lot of issues. I had three quotes and Insta-Insulation offered the best price and I enjoyed my dealing with Jeremy (Sales Rep) the best. The only negative comment I have is they were a few hours late. That was due to some unforeseen problems they had at the job site previous to mine. I would highly recommend insta-insulation. I am converting a single family home into a multi-family home with a legal basement apartment. In order for my new layout to work the furnace room had to be relocated. Joe Button came to quote the job. He is very knowledgeable and gave me good advice on mounting/venting my tankless hot water heater in a small closet. He also provided me with his duct work supplier contact info. This was a huge help during my new duct work installation. The AC unit outside had to be moved and reconnected to the plenum and a new furnace installed. New gas lines from the meter to the furnace, tankless hot water heater, stove and BBQ were installed. The crew he showed up on time were reliable and took pride in their work. They even worked without me at the property I gave them access for the coded door. Little things like a new vibration pad under the ac unit was provided, painted my gas meter and they installed a new disconnect switch for the AC for no cost. They exceeded my expectations and came through with my tight deadline. I would highly recommend Button’s Heating and I will be using them again for any jobs in the future. I am converting my bungalow into a multi-unit property. In order to do so legally the City of Toronto requires plans and specifications for the apartment layout. I was also removing a load bearing wall on the main floor to create open concept and required engineered drawings for that. Tony came to my property first to assess the job. He has a wealth of knowledge and gave me great design, layout and build ideas. Tony referred me to his designer Travis to do the design for the basement apartment and load bearing wall removal. Travis was a huge help throughout this process. He completed all the drawings on time and submitted them to the city for approval. He made the pain staking process of obtaining building permits much easier! He was always available and promptly answered my calls and text’s, even while on vacation. I highly recommend Mixedesigns these guys are very punctual, honest and professional to work with.
