We needed to replace our aging boiler (30+ years) and a domestic hot water tank that was no longer effectively providing hot water. We set out to get quotes from at least 5 different businesses and chose BCRC Heating & Cooling. They answered the many questions we had, responded timely, and provided quotes for different types of systems and brands that we requested. After our own research and consultation with BCRC we decided that an IBC Boiler in addition to an IBC storage tank for our domestic hot water would more than meet the demands of our family and for the size of our house. BCRC provided a timeline for the install (4 days) and they made sure they adhered to it. They kept the site clean and placed a protective covering on our floors. They were very accommodating to some of the adjustments we requested and made sure that we were very happy with the install and the process. As expected, their work passed inspection and for the last week we have been enjoying rapid, unlimited, uninterrupted domestic hot water and a heating system that is 95% efficient. Thank you to the BCRC Heating and Cooling team (Andy, Tony and Adam) for making this a great experience and thank you for helping with the submission of the rebates. We will be sure to have BCRC Heating and Cooling perform the annual maintenance for our new heating system.

We hired Michael to do an inspection on a house that we wanted to purchase. Michael was thorough and pointed out in person via our walk through as well as on his report the deficiencies and the time frame of when they should be addressed by. Based on his findings we were able to go back to the seller and were able to further negotiate the purchase price to help offset the major items that needs be addressed immediately. We would recommend Zegarra Residential Inspection for home inspections.

I hired Peter to help me renovate my house which included new engineered flooring throughout the house, new kitchen floor tiles and kitchen back splash with radiant floor heating and 3 new bathrooms with 2 of them with radiant floor heat. I'm happy to say that the project turned out great, within schedule (3 1/2 months from demolition to finish) and more importantly within budget. Thru Peter I was able to get trades for plumbing and kitchen cabinet makers who also did an awesome job. I get the impression that these guys work together well when working on big projects. Throughout the project, Peter was a pleasure to deal with. I'm quite detailed oriented and Peter made sure everything was installed as I expected it to be. If there were any issues he made sure it was addressed in a timely manner. I would not hesitate in reaching out to Peter for my future projects.

Wespac was already assigned to work on my basement repair due to flooding by a resoration company. While the restoration was being done, I decided to reconfigure one of the rooms which meant moving some wiring around. Wespac had a look and provided their quote to the restoration company who in turn provided it to me. Since the work was not covered by the insurance the cost would have to be covered by me. After reviewing my requirements Wespac recommended that since it was a small job that they will charge me by the hour and materials instead. In the end they saved me some money. Work was professional and efficiently done which was my main objected. I would use them again in the future.

I needed a wasp nest taken care of. The nest was 30 feet in the air and inside my exterior wall. Contacted a few companies and because of the nest being higher than 10 feet a few of them was charging extra ($50 to $75 more). I contacted Green Valley and they quoted me a flat price regardless of height. Ernie came by to spray the nest and said to give it a 3 or 4 days and if they are still active to give him a call. Since he went up to the roof he also told me that their was 5" of standing water on my flat roof. Discovered that the downspout was clogged. Thanks to Ernie I would have know about my other issue which could have caused me more money in the end for repairs if he didn't go up on the roof. Back to the Wasp nest, after a week, I noticed that the wasps are still flying in out of the nest. I called Ernie and told him about it and within a few days he came back and this time he said it's should be taken care of. Within the next day there were no more wasp activities. I believe that I paid a fair price and Ernie at Green Valley took care of the nest. To be fair to him, he probably couldn't access the nest on his first try because of the standing water on my roof. Once the water was gone he was able to access the nest better this time around. I recommend Green Valley Pest Control for your extermination needs.

I recently purchased a house with a metal roof and the home inspector recommended that I have the roof looked into by a roofing company as he noticed some things from the attic that I should be concerned about. I brought in the roofing company that I normally worked and they indicated that the fasteners (specifically the gaskets) are failing. Once I purchased the house, I interviewed a few roofing company. Crucial roofing is one of only 3 companies that recommended to me that I should only replace the fasteners (no need to replace the entire roof). Greg said that my 26 year old metal roof has a lot of life left on it and that a section of my roof (torched on) is still good for a few more years. No point in replacing the roof at this time. The other roofing companies were way off by recommending that I replace the entire roof now. After receiving quotes from the 3 companies, I went with Crucial Roofing. One of the reason is that, Greg was responsive to my questions prior to the work being done. Unlike the other two companies whom I had to call a few times to get an answer. He also managed to address my concern about my wooden fascia board by having his metal sheet take care of it (covering them with metal). Now there's no need for me to paint them every other year and it looks great. Greg and his team re-fastened my roof in one day (done by mid afternoon and they started around 8 am). He and his team took the time to clean any debris near where the water drains to my downspout. I asked him to clean the metal caps as well as my skylight and Greg did so without hesitation. Greg also noticed and took a picture of a broken tile roof that has clearly shifted off of my neighbours roof. Needless to say my neighbour was very appreciative and hopefully will call Crucial for the repair. Overall I'm quite happy with the work that was completed by Crucial roofing. I think Greg and his team value a long term relationship with each of their customers they deal with by being sincere up front, perform quality work and provide them at a fair price. Crucial roofing is now my "go to" roofing company.

Thanks Greg. That's about how it went down and you're right in that I intend to have long term relationships with all my clients. I'm also glad we were able to address some airflow improvements by cutting a ridge vent along the peak. Hopefully you feel the benefits of that over this summer. Cheers! Greg

I've used Chisholm Roofing last year to re-roof my rental property and was quite satisfied with their workmanship. Their quote was the most reasonable and it even included plywood sheeting over the shift lap boards that existed since the house was built over 60 years ago. Other roofing company quoted me separately for the plywood which added another $1500 to $2500 over the actual cost of re-roofing. I recently had to use their services to inspect the metal roof on the house that I was planning to purchase and even with short notice Bruce (the owner) came through for me. He answered my call on a Monday which was a holiday and inspected the house on Tuesday. I needed to remove my subjects by Wednesday. Hiring Bruce to do the inspection was a blessing in disguise in that Bruce was able to tell me the history on the roof of house. He actually worked on the roof a few years ago and even remembered the builder's name who built the house. Inspecting the roof did not cost me anything but he did pointed out (and as noted by the home inspector) that the fastener's used on the metal roof are failing and should be addressed in the next few months. We have gone ahead and purchased the home and we will be addressing the roof issue and will be using Chisholm Roofing to perform the work based on his findings and quote.

We needed to get our subjects removed by February 12th, 2014, which included "home inspection" for a home that we wanted to purchase. So with less than week to get it done, I went online to research for a home inspector . Sean Moss met the criteria that I was looking for prior to hiring him. He had a very good review in homestars.com website. He is a registered member as oppose to an associate member in one of the 4 recognized group that oversees home inspectors in Canada. He belongs to CHAPI and as a registered member he has completed over 250 fee-paid inspections. He has A+ BBB rating and to boot he is a certified mold specialist. He is actually the one doing the inspection so as the owner and only employee he has a lot at stake. I have hired 2 inspectors on previous home purchases and even observed one hired to do an inspection on the house that I just sold and none was as detailed as Sean. He spent close to 5 hours inspecting the 3000 sq feet house and spent another hour going through his findings with us. He has also taken the time to answer my questions via email and phone calls days after the inspection. As I know a few things about houses he pointed the things that I already have noticed which I expected him not to miss such as a cracked toilet and cracked window and blown window seals. Although he did not go on the roof as his insurance does not cover certain height he was able to point out that there could be some issue with the roof through his inspection via the attic. Next day I had a roofer come by and he was able to confirm Sean's findings and although not immediate the roof needed to be addressed within the next few months. Sean's detailed findings allowed us to make an informed decision on whether or not to purchase the house (in the end we did purchase it) and we will recommend him to friends and families
