Do not hire this company. He will not be transparent with costs or fees and he charges at least 20% on top of subcontractors invoices as well as materials. My build was held up for weeks because he didn't order materials in enough time (supply chain issues notwithstanding). We parted ways 1/3 of the way through the project. Save yourself many headaches. Find someone else for a new home build.

We are so pleased to be able to write this review for Falcon Contracting! We had hired Falcon Contracting a few years ago for an extensive renovation on our house, turning the first floor into an open concept space and we haven’t regretted it for a moment. In fact, when it was time to re-do our basement, we didn’t think twice about contacting John again. We wanted to be sure we would have an equally positive experience. Our basement was in dire need of a facelift – it was time to add a second washroom, remove the chipboard that had been used as paneling and to restructure the rooms to make better use of the space. We wanted: 1. lots of storage space 2. a TV area and space for our grandkids to play 3. a 3 piece washroom 4. a laundry room 5. a furnace room with space for many tools Before we started and after a couple of conversations, John provided us with a quote. He also reminded us that a renovation of this type might uncover unexpected issues we would have to deal with – like water penetration or old pipes – so that we were prepared. Forewarned is forearmed, right? We appreciated John raising the possibilities, even though only minor problems emerged. We decided that we should have a back-flow prevention valve and a sump pump installed. We didn’t know that the city provides rebates for homeowners who have these devices installed – but John did! He advised us well. I could go on for pages about how pleased we are with the outcome. Previously, the basement was little more than fancy storage – and no one in the family really wanted to spend time down there. That has all changed, thanks to the beautiful job that John did. It is warm, dry, and beautiful and we got 110% of what we wanted, on time and within budget. The quality and craftsmanship of the work done is superb! John communicated exceptionally well with us, and kept us up to date on the progress, changes that were required, and any delays he encountered. The quality of the sub-trades he hires is second to none. The electrician, plumbers, tile setters and HVAC people worked efficiently, quickly and expertly. We highly recommend John to anyone looking for high quality work, and an honest, professional, trustworthy contractor.

The main goal of our renovation was to make the first floor of our house open concept. The first thing John did was to bring an engineer to the table who, along with John, showed us the many options we had to open up our first floor, and the different costs associated with those options. Through every step of this renovation, John ensured we made informed decisions. He took the time to explain his approach and his reasoning, in a way that was thorough, informative and understandable. John has a wealth of information about different products and fixtures and where to get them at reasonable prices. While Falcon Contracting was on site we decided to replace our front porch, renovate our laundry room, upgrade some windows and replace the flooring upstairs. John was able complete all this work within the timeframe quoted and within budget. We were very impressed with the quality of the workmanship as well as the fact that the site was cleaned up every evening before the trades people went home. The sub-trades that John has working with him made the renovation run more smoothly than we could ever have imagined. On top of all of this, John always did his best to make what we wanted, happen. We are more than happy to refer Falcon Contracting for whatever size project and look forward to working with John again on our next project.
