Mike and his team were great to work with and we were impressed with the job they did on the parging. We have a 100 year old house with a concrete block addition at the back that had no parging on it. Mike broke off all the old parging, applied a wire mesh around the entire perimeter and did three coats, a scratch coat, finish coat and a water proof sealant. Other quotes we had received were lower but for only one or two coats of parge. We wanted to make sure it was done as well as possible and it looks great. He even added on breaking out an old concrete pad at the back of our property at a reasonable price and put gravel down where it was before which was great!! He was also very responsive to all my calls and questions which was much appreciated. Thanks Mike, we will definitely recommend you to people looking for a high quality parging job!

I originally got a very detailed and prompt quote from an agent who no longer works for the company. The installation was long and we had told the agent that our basement was getting renovated, but the installer put all the wires under the joists. Then we had to have them come back two weeks later to do it properly and they sent me another bill for $130. After I called and complained they reduced it to $75, but I don't think I should have had to pay anything. Then the contacts started falling off, one of which fell off at 6am and set off our alarm. We felt uncomfortable setting our alarm after that, afraid it would set off accidently. After speaking to someone at Safetech, they sent the installer back out, this time for free, to properly screw in the contacts (they were originally put on with double-sided tape!). They gave us a free month for this issue, because we had been unable to set it. Since then, we haven't had any problem and I like to be able to set it at night and when we leave the house.

Mike and his team at MGB Construction were absolutely great! Mike came over to give us a quote on finishing our small, dark hole of a basement in May and I liked him right away. Where the other contractors I’d had in only pointed to all the problems there would be, Mike was quick to think of solutions and assured me that our basement was normal for Toronto and that it could become a cozy, liveable space. When his quote came in a couple of days later, it was very detailed, told us exactly what would be getting done, the breakdown in price and even laid out the price of different options for various upgrades like better stairs and spray foam versus normal insulation. Between all the quotes we received, we had been given a wide range of prices and although not the lowest, Mike’s quote was very reasonable and we were eager to hire him. During the weeks leading up to the renovation, Mike was very well organized and had all his subcontractors through the house to prepare for the job and prevent any delays once the work was started. Once started, my husband and I were amazed every day to come home and see all of the progress! During the Toronto flood in July, our waterproofing system that had been installed previously had a “malfunction” and the waterproofing contractors had to come back to fix the problem. This caused delays for Mike and caused him to have to redo some drywall, but he went above and beyond to come over to help clean up the mess! I know this screwed up some of his scheduling, but he never complained throughout the process or raised our price. Mike’s subcontractors were also great, super friendly and polite. Special mention to Andre, the Mexican drywaller, he did a wonderful job and was such a pleasure to have at the house! Our house has open stairs, so the drywall dust got everywhere, so I kind of gave up on cleaning during the last couple of weeks. I came home one weekend to find my whole main floor dusted and mopped! I called Mike and he’d had his cleaning lady come over to tidy up because he felt bad about the mess. Who does that?! Our basement is finished now and looks great. We knew it would be small, but he was great at finding lots of little ways to maximize the space and look such as extra trim on the bench footing and a vanity that was built into the bench. You would never know what it looked like before and we’ve already enjoyed hanging out down there, because we didn’t have a proper living room, second bathroom or laundry area before. He did lots of little extras and addressed any concerns I had right away. All in all, I can’t say enough great things about him, his team and his work and we would definitely recommend him to anyone!

After receiving five quotes on waterproofing and lowering my basement, I was recommended the Nusite team by two different individuals. Geoff took the time to explain to me the differences between the quotes and what I would be getting as a final product. Throughout the process, Geoff was always very responsive and listened to all of my concerns. Our house is 100 years old and presented many unforeseen challenges but Nusite was creative with solutions and never raised our price. We would definitely recomment this company in the future.

Vitaliy and his crew came recommended from our general contractor. The crew showed up on time early Sunday morning and were very polite, clean and quiet. They dug through a place in one of our planters in the front yard and torpedo'd the water line to the city boundary. When they were done, they cleaned up so well and even put the plants back so you couldn't even tell they had been there. Magic!

Mixed feelings about my services. Mike came out within an hour after I called about a sudden sewage backup that needed emergency service. He was very knowledgeable and realized that our sewage actually went out the back of our house and took a right turn through my neighbour’s yard. The first plumber I had to quote was going to dig in the completely wrong spot of the yard and destroy my parking pad in the process! So we were very happy to hire Mr. Rooter. The men who came to work were very quick, hard workers. My only complaint is that I was quoted $3,800 and the next day, because I guess the pipe went further than expected, they increased my price to $7,500! That doesn’t seem like an accurate quote and I felt a little taken advantage of since by the time my neighbour’s yard was dug up, I didn’t have much choice about whether to finish it or not. Overall, the work was done correctly and in a timely manner.
