We highly recommend Moore Skylights. Jeff is very knowledgeable and helped us to make an informed decision. He knows things that roofers who install skylights do not. He was prompt with his quote, installed our three skylights ahead of schedule, communicated with us throughout, and took photos of his work. He quickly turned what had been a very stressful time into a very dry, sunny happy time. I truly wish there were more contractors like Jeff.

We realized the duct behind our stacked washer/dryer was the wrong style and broken when it started raining lint and moisture all over the closet. Fortunately we had met George Lloyd on an earlier project. He does great work and is a super nice person, so we called his office to see if he could help us again. Tracy, the office manager, was very friendly, broke down the cost for us, and found a way to fit us into the schedule earlier than expected. Our dryer is now venting like new (and it no longer rains in the closet!) Thanks again, George and team!

It had been some time since we had checked our dryer duct and vent because we can't access the connection behind the stacked dryer. Leighton came over to check everything out including the wind speed of the air coming out of the vent on the second floor. (He had 10 steps to run through and did them all.) I was very impressed with Leighton's professionalism, how pleasant he is and how careful he was while on our property. I would highly recommend Dryer Vent Wizard.

Eaves Experts did a great job on our downspouts. We needed new 3X3s after many of our original 2X3s had split. We had spoken to a couple of contractors but didn’t have a good feeling. I liked Neethan as soon as I met him on the phone. He was friendly, quick with his quote and to book the work. He did a nice colour match beforehand - aluminum and caulk - and his work is clean. I was surprised how much nicer the sides of the house looked. He also did some minor repairs/caulking on other parts of the house and told us how to care for the downspouts. A 10 out of 10 for sure!

We found Oleg when we started having problems with our 17-year-old builder garage door. He was friendly, he came quickly and knew his stuff. We said to ourselves that when we needed a door to replace our old wooden builder door, that we would call Oleg again. The time came and now we have a nice, new maintenance-free door we don't worry about. (Oleg helped us pick it out.) I can't say it was an exciting purchase for me and I can't cook a turkey in it, but ordering the door from Oleg and having him install it made the whole thing so much better!

I would recommend Spring Home to anyone looking for a new water heater. I did some research which of course everyone should do, visited big box stores but the bottom line is that Spring Home know their business better than others I spoke to and they were able to handle it all for me. I did not need to act as a go-between for a big box store and subcontractor. Sam, who is a pleasure to deal with, was able to give me a quote over the phone on the tank I wanted, he came over afterwards to confirm the details and he made it his priority to replace our leaking tank as soon as possible which was the very next morning. The installers were pleasant, professional and worked hard to get our old tank out of the basement without damaging floors, doors or walls. You could tell in general they knew what they were doing. They showed me how everything worked and when they left the difference in hot water supply was like night and day. We are very glad to have chosen Spring Home Heating and we will call again if we need any heating or cooling work. (I am sorry this review is late. I tried posting it once before but it was not put up.)

We had bought some DIY bookshelves with the idea to make them look custom. We phoned Niall after reading his great Homestars reviews. Niall came to our home and after making plans with him to move forward we were were introduced to Billy, who came by to reconfirm the specs and customize the bookshelves with Andrew. They did a beautiful job and the bookshelves look amazing - better than the inspiration photo that I had pulled from a magazine! Billy also hung a door and made us a lovely chalkboard. It was easy communicating with Niall and I would highly recommend his team who were easy to have working in our home. (I tried feeding them but they were always too busy working!) Thank you, gentlemen!

Antonio and his crew are amazing. They do clean, precise work and price fairly. It is like art, what they do. I had a question following their visit that I had forgotten to ask and they responded right away. I really appreciated that, too. I would recommend Java Electric to anyone as they are now the official electricians for our home. Thank you very much, gentlemen. It was a pleasure to meet you.

Rene has done another beautiful job in our home! We had a water leak above our dining room ceiling so after the plumber was done it meant repairing the water damage, patching the drywall cuts, reapplying the stucco and painting. Rene did it all. I had also been wanting to repaint the main floor so I thought it was a good time to do that, too! If Rene is coming to your home you do not want to waste his talent! He does very thorough work and his cutting in is beautiful. It is like a new house. Rene will show you the power of paint. He is often busy but worth the wait. We recommend him without hesitation.

Steve Brannan is the person you want to have fix your appliance problems. He calls you back promptly and arrives when he says he will. He gets right to it and is so friendly - it was a pleasure having him in our home. Our particular dishwasher problem (which it turned out had nothing to do with the dishwasher) has happened more than once so Mr. Brannan also showed me why and what to do the next time it occurs. I really appreciated that. Do yourself a favour if you have an appliance problem and call Mr. Brannan first! You'll be so glad you did!

It was a pleasure doing business with Trimbo from start to finish. Domenic and Elio were very helpful suggesting the right design and products for our project. Ron and Mitch did a beautiful install. Having had an experience like this we are now looking forward to saving up and buying more from Trimbo - they have taken the fear out of renovations for us. What a pleasure coming home and seeing everything and knowing we made the right choice. It's the people who make and install your products that make the difference and Trimbo has great people. I highly recommend Perfecto Painting. Rene made it his personal mission to make our bedroom paint job and two ceiling repairs perfect. He has a very strong eye for detail. It is impossible to tell that our stucco ceilings were ever damaged. Our bedroom is now so beautiful you cannot tell it was painted three other times in various colors. The old paint, once showing in places, is completely gone and the straight paint lines between the wall and ceiling are a work of art. You would think Rene painted all our ceilings to get such a clean line and perfect color match, but no. There is still the original builder plaster up there, even in the case of the ceiling repairs! We decided to paint the bedroom trim ourselves to cut costs but Rene surprised us with painting the baseboards and gave them a beautiful crisp line. Rene even showed me all the dents and plaster imperfections in our bedroom walls and then fixed those, before painting too! I wish I had taken a picture of Rene fixing the ceilings. He created a plastic sheet chamber for himself so that none of our furnishings were damaged. He really is a professional. We have used other painters in the past but they are all about getting in and out, bringing in other anonymous painters to help them finish, leaving you to find all the details they missed long after they are gone. Rene is there from start to finish and talking you through it all the way. He also charges for his work and not his time. He will do a job until it is done right. It was very easy to have him around for the three or so days he was here. You can tell he is proud of his work and he should be! Thank you very much, Rene. We will definitely call you again.

We highly recommend David Utarid. He recently tiled our front entranceway and it is beautiful. At our first meeting David clearly explained the process to us and how many days it would take. He was bang on. He suggested a larger-size tile - right again. We bought the tiles ourselves after getting David's advice on the quantity and he supplied everything else - the quarter round, grout and the marble surrounds. He visited several stores to get the right grout and quarter round. If you don't already know David is a one-man operation. He worked on our project from start to finish and didn't take projects inbetween. He has an excellent eye for detail (I'm picky) and it is evident he takes pride in his work. He suggested we break up the cement under the old tile so that we could have a level transition from the tile to the surrounding hardwood (which was more work for him) and he carried our new quarter round over to the hardwood so we could have a seamless baseboard from the new tile to the hardwood. The only thing we are disappointed about is that we are not ready for David to tile our backsplash! Thank you, David!

We had tight spaces for these two projects but Northwood came up with plans for both that were thorough, clean and fast. We appreciated their attention to detail - they even custom-made pieces unavailable in-store like a removable external grille that will keep the birds from trying to nest in our dryer vent again and they didn't even wake our sleeping baby in the process.
