We were looking to add a bathroom to our finished basement in our home and we decided to go with this contractor who was recommended via a family friend. Siva came to our house and we showed him the area of the bathroom area in the basement and he said it could be done. He also went through with some of the accessories in terms of toilet, shower fixtures, wash basin fixtures, etc. He came to our house with 2 of his colleagues and took a process of 5 days to complete which we were surprised. They were very careful when they were dealing with the plumbing and electrical work in the area. They made sure the place was well kept and neat after they finish the work each day. They showed my husband and I what they were doing in terms of the steps and even added a water shut off valve in the cupboard separately from the main water shut off valve. Overall we were very happy with his service and quality of work. Definitely will recommend him to other family members.

Vladimir is a former well known neighbor from our old residence, who is also a contractor. We had asked him to build a retaining wall + a front porch interlock with proper steps to add a nice appeal to our house. He was very reasonable as he only charged us $1090 for labor and he did the job within 2 days time by himself. Yes by himself! The only thing he had asked us was, for us to purchase the stones, etc by ourselves, but he would do the rest of the installation or rather project for us. Overall we are very pleased with his work and we hope he continues to excel in his work. He also does electrical, plumbing and other various renovation work for home owners.

My husband and I were planning on getting a retaining wall done for the front of our house for a flower bed. We decided to hire a contractor whom we have known for years to do the job but we were given the task of buying our own supplies. The contractor who is very nice ( a separate review will be written) recommended us that we go to Beaver Valley to get the materials needed which were the stones, some bags of sands and other various materials. We went in person last week Wednesday on September 25th and chose the materials we needed based on the measurements the contractor took. The materials were then delivered on the Thursday and we noticed that one particular item - screening sand which was a quantity of 20. I called the store that same day the materials were delivered and inquired based on the invoice as to the missing screening sand bags and they informed us that it was part of the landscaping/retaining wall stones that were delivered. I double checked and nothing was present. Today the contractor arrived (October 1st, 2013) and he also asked where the screening sand bags or so were and I informed him that it was not present. I then spoke to a representative called Josh and he kindly apologized for them not being delivered on the same day and requested we come to the store to correct this issue. My husband went to the store with the contractor to correct this issue and he met Josh but Josh did not seem friendly as he did on the phone. When my husband spoke to Josh, Josh informed my husband that they will have to place the order again and the delivery will take 1 to 2 business days and on top of that we have to pay delivery charges again. It was their mistake firstly for not delivering the screening sand along with the original order last week Thursday. My husband got upset naturally and said it is unfair and instead requested a credit to be used towards the purchase of additional cornering stones. Josh and the manager refused to do so and were very rude about it. In the end, the contractor was nice enough to load the screening sand into his van and brought it to our house. I doubt that my husband nor I will ever do business with such an unreliable company that does not have proper customer service and does not meet the customer needs. I guess this is the kind of company that does not follow the common principle of "The customer is always right" Therefore we are NOT recommending this company to other friends and family members.

We were looking to add pot lights to the exterior of our home outside. We saw a bunch of flyers posted on the street lamps in our neighbourhood and various places. The most we saw was from Mr. Potlight. So we thought it is a reputable and popular company. We called and we requested them to take a look outside the house where we want the pot lights to be installed. We were informed of a free estimate as well which made it even better. The person came over and we got an estimate of roughly $600 including labour. It was only 8 lights - 4 in the front and 4 at the side which we thought was a good price. We consulted some family friends and were told to give the go ahead for this since its an absolute deal. We contacted Mr. Potlight and decided to meet to go through over the contract which was very clear and understanding, and had no drawbacks to it. The work was done on the agreed date as per the contract and we were charged for the price that was agreed upon initially and on the contract. Overall the work was done efficiently and promptly in a day's time and we couldn't be any happier.

We were looking to get our deck extended at our 1.5 year old house. The current deck is somewhat small, so we needed the space. We looked online for a bunch of companies but decided to take the plunge with "Just Deck It" Someone came over to take a look and we told them what to be done. Basically extend the deck into a 10 ' x 10 ' configuration with the same height. We then got an answer that it could be done, but it would take time which we didn't mind at all. The day of the work began smoothly up until the end of the work, which took a week during the summer. They made sure that they did a proper job and left the place clean after the work was done. Reinforcements were done properly. To make it even better, a free estimate was done before the job. We are happy since then and definitely recommend this place to others.

In our old home back in 2007 to 2008, we had requested the service of Nutri Lawn to perform a complete, thorough weed removal both in the front and back of the house, especially at the back of the house as there was quiet the weed infestation. They came once in two weeks or once in a month and would spray the back and front to remove the current weeds and prevent future ones from growing. Initially it did the job but after a month's service, they did not do a great job as there were weeds after weeds growing at the back, side and front of the house. We had called to complain, and once again when they came, still the same problem. They even over billed us for the job, and we had to call and complain that they had not done a good job in the first place. Eventually we gave up and had to contact another company for weed removal. Perhaps despite the great rating, we might have gotten unlucky.

Back in 2006 in our hold home, my family and I were looking to replace the old AC unit in that house with a newer AC unit. We had heard about Button's Heating through our local Home Depot and had inquired. We called Button Heating, left a voice mail and immediately we were contacted by one of their representatives. The representative came to our home and inspected everything in the house to make sure what kind of AC unit we are looking for and which one would work best. The representative recommended a Trane model which was best in its class. What attracted us to the purchase was a) the brand/reputation of Trane, b) the price and c) the customer service we had experienced from Button's Heating. The rep had then scheduled a fixed day and time to have their technicians come and install their Air Conditioner unit. They arrived on the specific day on time and did a thorough, clean and efficient job of taking out the old AC unit and replacing it with the Trane unit. After two months time, we also had to call them once to inquire about a technical question, and immediately they sent out a technician on the same day to inspect. The technician double checked thoroughly to ensure nothing has happened. Will definitely recommend this Heating Company to others.

We were in the market for a new sofa set for our living room and were debating which company to purchase from. We had been to Ashley, to Arrow, to Leons, and to various companies but could not make up our minds. We stumbled upon Chesterfield Shop and when we entered, we were greeted by a friendly staff/sales rep. He explained to us what kind of leather materials are available, their grades, etc. He even did not pressure us into buying and told us to take our time. At the end, we decided on that same visit to purchase two 3 seater genuine leather sofas. The sales rep even gave us an extra leather care protection solution at no cost and informed us that if we get an Aeroplan card we can get points. Delivery was not an issue as they were on time and the staff who loaded the new sofas, even took our old sofas and kept it in the garage at NO cost. Very friendly after service as well.

We had done many research with various alarm companies such as Alarm Force, ADT, Brinks, Counter Force, etc, however in the end we had chosen ADT. Why? Well their rep had come to our home informing of the various packages we can choose from along with "no catch" promotions. The price was right too. Installation was done efficiently and the technician who installed the Alarm System + keypads explained each function of the keypad and how to troubleshoot. Even the telephone agents are helpful for any small question and are very friendly over the phone. Will definitely recommend.
