Fire Away recently installed a 50 Napoleon Vector Linear fireplace in my family room. I am enthusiastically writing this review as the quality of service with Fire Away has probably been the best I have ever come acrossin any industry. Nick (owner) is an incredibly nice guy and very knowledgeable about the manufacturers products. For those rare obscure questions that he did not know the answers to, he didnt just make stuff up - he researched it and got me accurate information quickly. He personally ensured every aspect of the installation was done properly with great attention to detail. He also has the resources to do very customized applications (as was the case with my installation). His installation team was also excellent. They were clean, courteous, and explained everything in detail.Really nice guys. Communication with Fire Away was excellent. Even with preset appointment times, Nick would always call or text when he was on his way. Cindy was very efficient and helpful in the office. Both her and Nick were always easily accessible throughout the project and provided quick responses. I will certainly use Fire Away for all my future fireplace needs and I highly recommend them.

Had a Velux venting skylight installed in my master bathroom by Skylights Unlimited. Pretty much everything about this install was about as perfect as it could possibly be. Denis and the office were excellent at returning calls and emails in a timely fashion. They made useful recommendations up front and answered all my questions throughout the process. Ed, my lead installer was both entertaining and extremely knowledgeable. The installers came on time, were courteous, clean, and gave me confidence that they knew what they were doing. They have been doing these for decades and it shows. Although my skylight was a simple single install, I’d trust these guys on the most complex job. The finished product looks amazing. Based on reviews, they also stand behind their work after the initial install. Do your research as I did....you will find that Skylights unlimited in the premier skylight installer in the GTA. Aurora windows and doors just installed two windows for me, and did a fantastic job. Here are a few of the things that impressed me most: 1. Customer satisfaction. These guys go out of their way to make sure you are 100% satisfied. 2. Excellent responsiveness from the beginning, to the very end. They always returned my phone calls, emails and texts quickly. 3. They go out of their way to try to match existing windows/framing where possible. In my case, they provided matching j-mould for no additional charge. 4. They are very neat and they completely clean up the work site when they are done. They are very attentive to ensuring property does not get damaged. 5. Price. Even with having one of highest review ratings, their prices were competitive. 6. The windows look amazing. The manufacturer they use makes great looking windows. Out of these things, I hold item 1. above to be their best quality. In my case, I noticed something that wasn’t quite right. They immediately came out and advised what they were going to do to fix it. Shortly thereafter the repair was done. I’m very happy with the end result and would not hesitate to use them for my next window installation. Thank you Felix and crew.

My existing 15-yr old A/C went down on me during the first major heat wave of the season. Researched my options, as well as a few different installers, and decided on Twintech. They gave me confidence right from the beginning. Extremely knowledgeable. Their communication was excellent - always responded to questions quickly. Given we were in a heat wave, they were fully booked. However, within days they were able to fit me in due to a cancellation. Upon learning that the Amana unit I was getting installed was on backorder, TwinTech went to bat for me with the manufacturer and was able to get me the next model up within a day, for the same price - Amazing! As far as installation was concerned, I couldn’t be more impressed. These guys were clearly very experienced and did a fantastic job. Very clean, polite, timely & informative. They even thoroughly sealed all the exposed gaps in my ductwork. I’ve had plenty of heating and cooling work done in the past and have never used the same contractor twice because I’ve never been very impressed. However, from now on, I’ll always be contacting Twintech first!

This is my second time having Performance Natural Lighting to install a Sonatube. My first one was installed in a windowless bathroom 4 years ago and there have been zero issues with it since. This time, a walk-in closet. John does amazing work.....clearly an expert at installing these things. He is precise, clean, punctual, takes time to answer any questions, and is just a really nice, professional and respectable guy. His prices are the best around. I’m a do-it-youselfer and typically dread hiring contractors. It’s a nice change dealing with someone who does things right - and as scheduled. He obviously takes great pride in his work. Solatube is a great product....the change is dramatic, and the only guys you want installing them is Performance Natural Lighting.

I hate to write a negative review because he seems like a really really nice guy. But I was not at all impressed. Not sure why they have such good reviews. No shows on 4 occasions (no call or text saying he was not going to show up). Would not respond to calls or texts. They got the popcorn off, but the plastering and painting stages were not well done at all. Seams are still very visible even after he came back to correct it a second time. Compound flaking off in one location. Ceiling very rough - blotches everywhere. They don’t use cross lighting to check their work. I am now going to skim the ceiling myself to smooth it out and repaint. Painting was also not well done. Wall/ceiling joint painting very uneven (they don’t use masking tape). They got ceiling paint and drywall compound on the wall so I had to sand and repaint the whole wall. They are not careful and left the work area very messy. You expect some dust in a job like this but my wife and I spent a full day cleaning chunks of drywall compound, dust and paint off our stairs, out of the cracks in our hardwood floors, railings, carpets, front door and outdoor walkway. They dumped a pile of drywall compound on our front lawn and left a roller there. After several attempts to get them to come back and finish the job (no shows) I gave up. These guys were considerably cheaper than the other quotes I got and I guess that’s why. It was frustrating as I paid him an extra $150 above his quote in good faith. The good: as I said he was nice guy, and he gave me a little bit of extra ceiling paint so I could do touch-ups. Maybe he was just going through a tough time unrelated to work, but I’d never refer him to anyone.
