I received a call back from my HomeStars request within an hour. First diagnosis on my Carrier Infinity system made next morning. All parts replaced under warranty, paid for labour, and a fancy upgrade to a wifi infinity thermostat (which was the biggest part of the expense but a custom last minute request that Hamid was able to accommodate). Everything was quoted to me in advance and I approved. about the technician - wears booties, face mask - sprays door handles - keeps professional and social distance - - Very thorough in his explanation of steps required for trouble shooting and solution - doesn't do anything without your consent. thank you guys - I needed a Carrier approved company to work on my system - you rock.

I am beyond impressed with John, and Daniel from the House and Condo Painters. I discovered this company on Homestars because my business is moving into a new office and we had a short window to correct some horrible drywall work by the landlord. John and his team at the House and Condo Painters ensured that I was 100% satisfied with the quality of their work before signing off on the job and accepting full payment. Their crew always arrived on time and stayed as long as required on multiple days to get the job done. John checked in with me by phone and in person on several occasions to make sure I was happy with the progress. *The scope of the project included: drywall seam repair on two long walls - 40'long by 12' high, followed by a coat of primer, and two coats of paint. 5 / 5 rating for professionalism, and quality of workmanship. Not only were these guys great at their jobs - they are personable too. I really enjoyed getting to know these guys as they are just as ambitious as I am in my business endeavours and they want to see their company success and grow based on the merits of their work. Kudos to you gentleman. Keep up the great work!

I first met Greg and Grant (The Twin Brothers from Twin Tech - yup -it's not just a cool company name) back in 2014 when our furnace broke down and they installed our Carrier Furnace and AC that we purchased through Sears. I liked them instantly when I met them due to their friendly and professional service, and the fact that they didn't mind taking a little extra time to explain things in terms I could understand. Since that time they have reached out to me at least once a year to ensure that everything was running smoothly with my system and to keep me appraised of their evolving services. Due to this high level of proactive customer service I didn't hesitate to call and obtain their help for a Gas Stove removal and installation. When I scheduled the call Greg and Grant let me know that they would arrive the morning of the appliance delivery to disconnect the old gas stove, and then return in the afternoon to connect the new stove. Sure enough, they did just that as promised. Where they exceeded my expectations is with the extra level of support helping to assemble the burners and grills on the stove and in the oven. This may seem like a small thing to some but to my wife who was at home during this entire process it meant a stress free transition to the meal prep for the day. When I called home to ask about the install she commented that, "they left the place cleaner than it was when they arrived and they setup all the grills on top of the stove and in the oven... they didn't have to do all that -Wow!". You know what they say, Happy Wife, Happy Life. So in summary, I am recommending Twintech Heating & Cooling for all of your Furnace, Air Conditioning, and Gas Line needs. I've even called on these guys to help swap out a leaky water valve. They are just so easy to reach and communicate with by phone, and they don't mind a text message to confirm the details. You can rest easy when you have the Twins on your side as an extension of your household maintenance plan.

Thanks David for taking the time to write such a great review. It seems that TWINTECH has become the heating and air conditioning company of choice for you and especially your wife; and many other wife's in the Durham region.

Greg and Grant are 3rd generation family business owners. So they were taught at an early age by their Father and Grandfather that if you treat every customer with honesty and respect. Your customer's will trust you with their business.

Roofing, Window, and Vinyl Siding Renovations Dear John McLellan, About a year ago, our town home was beginning to have some major problems with a leaky roof on the top of the unit and leaky flat roof on the third floor deck. To make matters worse, the windows on the third floor were beginning to rot. Despite our best efforts to obtain help from family members in the roofing trade and from various independent contractors we were not able to obtain a fair quote nor the personal attention and guidance a first time home owner needed. Imagine our surprise when we first met John in December 2009. John came out and gave my family an honest evaluation of my roofs and windows and sent us a fair quote within a few days. Regarding the workmanship and the work crews we had the pleasure of meeting: The first round of work involved refinishing the steep roof on our townhouse as well as refinishing the flat roof on our deck. A gentleman named Leroy and his crew treated this house like it was their own. They were careful, polite, considerate and honest. Midway through the roof work Leroy noticed that our dryer vent was not connected and that lint was spewing into the attic. Leroy sent me photos directly from his mobile phone and called to ask permission to make sure all the other vents in the attic were connected. Talk about going above and beyond the call of duty. Regarding the second phase of the project: windows, siding and insulation of the exterior walls behind the siding: We had the pleasure of meeting Kate and her assistant for phase two of the project immediately following the completion of phase one. This is a company that knows how to manage a project to ensure there is always activity. Kate and her crew were affectionately referred to as a team of home repair ninjas by me and my wife because they came in quietly and worked super efficiently and left the place looking better than ever when they arrived. In the process of replacing the siding on our balcony, Kate demonstrated a keen sense of attention to detail when she ensured our door trim was recapped to match the rest of the siding. Any other company might have left the old material in place to save time and labour but not this one. This is what customer service is all about!!! Speaking of customer service, I was able to reach Sue at the office for immediate assistance with any questions whether it was about financial matters or the work. No waiting, no call backs. John, your staff is a true credit to your company. We are proud to endorse your company to our family and friends. Although we never want anything to go wrong with our home in the future, we know if / when it does – we can confidently call on your company to come to our rescue. Yours sincerely, David and Nicoletta N. Pickering, Ontario

We considered several contractors for our laundry room project on the main floor of our home, and narrowed down the final quotes to two firms: The Home Depot, and Monarch Kitchen and Bath Centre Ltd. We ultimately decided on Monarch Kitchen and Bath Centre Ltd for the following reasons: 1. Their initial design and estimate process for quotation was thorough, and they helped convey the value of the project in an easy to understand manner. 2. They understood our needs for the laundry room, and balanced that with our goals for our home. 3. Monarch presented their plan in a detailed, and concise way - including taking the time to draft two design options. 4. Two of my neighbours had used Monarch and provided an endorsement for their high standards of workmanship, and customer service. Getting Started / Design Process: Shortly following the in home consultation, we met at Monarch’s showroom to review the initial drawings. Our designer Janet was quite hospitable and walked us through her designs which were created based on my wife and I describing what we thought we needed in the laundry room, and what would like in our dream laundry room. In the end, we chose the more elaborate design with increased storage and cabinet space - more of a dream scenario – partly because Janet conveyed the value that a well designed laundry room could generate towards the value of a home. In the following weeks my wife met with Janet to review cabinet material, hardware, etc. In that time we also received a professional project plan from Kelley at head office, which would serve as a timeline, and budget guideline. It was very nice to have a well formatted scope document that we could later refer to if there were any questions or confusion about what was discussed / included in the quotation. For instance, we later decided to add some additional timers and home automation, including upgrading the light switches in the laundry room to automatic room sensors – a must have for under cabinet lighting – and Monarch made all the arrangements – including bringing in their skilled electrician Vicky to get the extra work done and allow other trades to continue humming along. We reserved the painting portion of the project to save a few bucks (my idea – not my wife’s). It was actually a false savings as it ended up eating my time plus I changed the paint colour on the walls once the cabinets were installed. In retrospect, I really should have left this to Monarch. Of course, it is unrealistic to think that nothing could go wrong along the way. We did have a few minor issues. What I was impressed with the most is the responsiveness from this company; options were always discussed for remedy, and the owner (Neil) was absolutely fair about associated costs. We really loved Mike (our installer) he has a heart made of gold - and really helped us understand the process along the way. He suggested the best idea of the design (in my opinion)- rolling wheels for the dryer / washer combo stack. It worked!! Now if I have to get behind the machine to clean or access the water/gas - I can by myself! In summary, I would definitely recommend Monarch Kitchen and Bath for your next project.

I found this company on Kijiji and sent a message with my requirements. Basically, I had a 144 sq foot room that needed hardwood installed in a diagonal pattern and also to butt up nicely to french doors leading to the hallway. Jessie is the rep who called me and he was very polite and courteous. I explained the job and that I already had the material on hand. In our negotiation for price I earned a great deal in respect for Jessie and High Tek Flooring when Jessie defended the value and quality of his work and told me that his price wasn't the cheapest and certainly not the most expensive but his work was good. Jessie told me he had 8 years of experience installing flooring and his partner has 15. Where Jessie really came through for me was rearranging he schedule in order to accommodate my request for an installation by the weekend since I had a family birthday planned for my daughter the following week. On install day, Jessie showed up with his partner and measured out the room only to find the install wasn't a simple 45 degrees. In order to have the floor line up with the hallway Jessie would have to use a 30 degree angle on one wall and 60 on the other. Jessie didn't up charge me and took to task . By 1:30 the job was done and looking fantastic. Everything was cleaned and have been enjoying my new office ever since. I highly recommend this company to anyone interested in professional , honest and polite workmanship.
