Peter and team replaced our roof and he was very professional, patient, and helpful throughout the process of deciding on the right shingles and answering all my questions. Went with charcoal GAF Timberline HD shingles and upgraded to Timbertex ridge caps which gave things a more textured look. My neighbour has them so I knew it would look great. Our old roof was not well installed and the shingles were of poor quality. I didn't know much about roofs at that time and just replaced the roof with 3-tab shingles like what was already there. We live in a windy spot and I learned the drill to call the old roofing company immediately DURING windstorms to have any hope of reasonably prompt (not free) repairs. One time the company repairman that came told me that they hadn't done a good job! New roof was quickly and efficiently installed in one day. I also got Peter to do a bit extra and arranged to have some discoloured wood trim repainted since it was too high for me to reach safely. Much appreciated. Cleanup was excellent too and no damage to the grounds and not a single nail found on the lawn! They were pretty comprehensive about covering windows, garden lights, and lots of tarps to catch any nails. Also noticed that they didn't lean ladders directly on the eavestroughs so as not to bend them like the previous roofers had done. All their installs are also "high wind" installations with 6 or 7 nails per shingle. I could hear the rhythm all day. This was extra important to me. It's been only a year but so far no issues with wind or shingles flapping. My old roofer I'm pretty sure used the minimum of 4 nails. Peter provided digital pictures and a website to view the roof as it progressed so you could verify the work. Would definitely recommend Peter and City Roofing for quality professional work and peace of mind. They're quote was also better priced than the old roofing company who I only called to get a comparison from.

I had an ant colony outside my house that moved into my wall after I tried to get rid of it. The big carpenter ants didn't seem to be affected by the stuff you buy at the store. Once in the wall, you would hear them at night scratching in the wall. Sounds like rain on the window and it took a few days for me to clue in that it wasn't rain! I marked the spot and called Pesticon after finding them on HomeStars. They arrived promptly the next day. A couple small holes in the drywall were necessary to flush them out but easily repaired and minimal spray/mess inside. Waheed swept up most of the drywall and some residue on the wall eventually evaporated. Probably prudent to wipe it down anyways. Waheed went the extra mile and sprayed until he was sure the problem would be resolved. At first he wasn't sure since he expected a few ants to come out of the holes but the noise had stopped. Pumped some more stuff into the wall and then checked outside. The ants had fled outside and it looked like the grass was moving! He sprayed around the outside of the house and also some other minor ant hills he searched out on my walkway and driveway. Lots of dead ants everywhere. Too bad you probably can't buy the stuff he uses. :-) The worry of how to remove giant carpenter ants from the wall quickly dissipated after his visit. I also recommended him to my neighbour who had wasps in her front wall. Must be something about our houses. I saw Waheed spraying the face of the house a few hours later and haven't noticed any wasps since.

My fridge was not cold and I could see that the fan was failing. I probably could have replaced it myself but it was Friday evening and food was spoiling. I called Control at around 9pm and got a call back around 20 minutes later. Joe came by promptly the next morning (Saturday) at the agreed time and called first to let us know he was on the way. He quickly assessed the situation and replaced the fan from stock in his truck. No muss no fuss just peace of mind. Thanks Joe.
