Sear's Shopping Online

Save yourself endless hours of stress and difficulty but not ordering anything from Sear's that you expect to be delivered when they say they will. Dealing with them is a nightmare. Left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. Huge waste of time and deplorable customer service. Their inventory management is a joke. (Shows in-stock when you purchase then absolutely NOTHING was ready for delivery). I got 2 messages the day before planned delivery. First voice mail msg was "items have not arrived and won't be delivered", second msg to remind me of my delivery. Nothing was available and they had no clue when it would be. When I said "forget it, cancel the order" their so-called customer service actually said "you can't cancel it - just wait for it to arrive and then refuse it"! Save yourself -- don't deal with them.

Sears delivery

Sears called twice yesterday confirming delivery between 7 am and 1 pm. My wife stayed home for the day to accept delivey. They never showed up. The tracking system on their website is not working. Called Sears; they had no information and said something must have happened...duh. I tried to give my order number but the agent would not take it. They said wait 3 to 5 days and, if I don't hear anything, I should call them back. In today's day and age this is unbelievably poor service.

Appliance Home Delivery

It's a well-known fact that Sears is heading the way of the dodo and deservedly so - especially since outsourcing their customer service to Burma (no I am not kidding). The absolute worst customer service and coordination of appliance delivery I have experienced in my entire life. The horror stories shared above do not begin to do justice to the continual comedy of errors that is Sears Canada. Sears does not deserve to be in business - they have cut their own throat and the marketplace will devour them. Good riddance.

Refrigerator purchase/delivery

WORST! Set to deliver on a Saturday, purchased online, selected 7am-1pm delivery. Called Friday night, "Just confirming"--yes, was told there are 23 deliveries, you're the 21st between 7pm and 9pm, "You'll get a call 1 hr before delivery." Alright--not our time, but OK. Waited all day, called at 8:30pm--"You're on truck 106" asked to speak w/ manager, he tells us the order has been cancelled due to "fraud". I used my US credit card to pay for it and had it shipped to Toronto--not unusual, I'd think and their online form accepted it. Mind you, the order was allegedly cancelled 2 days before it was charged (fully, gone-through, A-OK charged) to my VISA. No email, call or any confirmation of cancellation. When we just received the refund just today? They refunded purchase price & tax, but not the delivery charge. ::sigh:: More battles--and the customer service reps were very rude, "Are you through speaking yet?" One said to me as I tried to calmly lay out what had happened to date so he could help me. STAY AWAY!

LAWNMOWER/TRACTOR

My problem started late April at which time I was told my tractor could not be repaired. 1 week later service called and said they were picking it up to repair. 1 week later they phoned and said it could not be repaired. Finally got a May 28th (over 1 month later). I talked to several people and were given written assurances there would be no charges involved. Finally cleared my emails last week and whiat should arrive today my Sears bill with a charge of $226.00. Corporate level were no help. They just said I had to pay it. Unfortunately no e-mails to prove and they claim they do not have any either.

Customer service is lousy and I will never use them again to purchase a major appliance if this is the way they treat their customers. I have since heard several other horror stories with regard to similar things. No wonder people shop Target!!!!! and go to The States to shop.

Washer repair

Hi all,

I'm in the process of trying to get my washer repaired by a Sears technician, and quite frankly I am shocked by the service. His initial visit was a few weeks ago, he told me he needed a replacement part that would take 5-6 business days to arrive. He then calls me back two days later: can you give me your washer model and serial number? At $190 an hour, I would expect he would have taken those down! Or at least call promptly, not two days later.

Since then, everytime I call him to get a status update, I have to give him a 5 minute description for him to remember who I am (my name is x, I live at y address, washer needed a replacement part, remember? we spoke on x and y occasion, missing part that you ordered...). Then he tells me to call Sears directly. Then he remembers who I am, and says he can't know when the part will arrive. Meanwhile, my girlfriend and I realize that a washer is a very essential appliance!!!

Where do they get these people? How low will the Sears brand value fall before someone grasps the severity of the situation? It's so ironic that on one end they spend millions on marketing to drive traffic in their stores, and on the other they turn away customers forever, and those customers tell everyone they know and post on messageboards like this one to warn others. Wake up Sears, before it's too late.

Front load washing machine-service

Called Sears for a service call for ny washer, it is still on warranty. They schedule an appointement 11 days later, even if I had clothes in the washer with water, could not open the door. The service man said he needed to order two parts. A new appointment was set for a week later. They called the day before the appointment to confirm and the following day they cancelled and rescedule for the following week. He showed up and changed the parts to find out that those weren't what was wrong. He said that he would be back the next day around 3. He never showed up nor did he call. I called and they said that the service man should not have said he was going to be back the next day as it takes 24hours from the time the parts has been ordered for it to show up. I asked to talk to a supervisor because I said I needed to talk to someone who cared. The person refused to transfer me to a supervisor. But he ended up scheduling an appointment for the next day, The new guy showed up with the same two parts that the previous guy changed. So he left and after a month of this I still don't have a washer that works.
Really poor service department.

Side by Side S/S Fridge & Induction Stove

We purchased a S/S side by side Fridge and induction stove from Sears late August 2010. Within a week or two a red light came on the control panel of the stove and it never went out. There was no reference in the manual so we called Sears Service. They sent a repairman out who also did not know what the red light was so we got a new stove. Within 1 month the water line froze in the side by side fridge, so we couldn't get water out. Again, we called Sears Service. They sent a repairman out only to tell us he would have to order another door. To make a long story short, we're on our FIFTH, YES I SAID FIFTH DOOR. However, the door finish does NOT match the other side of the fridge. The door they sent us is a matte finish stainless steele and the other side shiny. We received a call a month ago to say that the correct finish door would be here by March 31. We got a call today (Mar.29,2011) to say that it was on back order for another 8-10 weeks. I called Sears Canada and of course the first connection was in the Phillipines.(Thanks Sears for taking jobs out of Ontario/Canada.) I talked to corporate customer service to say that we wanted a new fridge and that this has gone on way too long. She said: Is your fridge working? I said yes, that is NOT the point, I bought a product 7 mos. ago and it's paid for in full and I still don't have the product I purchased. She said "I'm sorry but you're still on the repair list". I asked to speak to a supervisor, but of course they don't have the decency to speak to you so that went nowhere. I have asked 3 or 4 times to just match the two damn doors on the fridge or replace it. That answer was no. Now I have to wait until JUNE because my door is on back order from the manufacturer AGAIN!@! We have been long time Sears customers in the past, but today I will be cutting up my Sears Card and NEVER, EVER BUYING ANYTHING FROM THAT STORE. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A JOKE.
