Our encounter with AMA Home Improvements was nothing short of a disaster. I had the main floor of my house gutted, new kitchen, 3 new bathrooms, full renovations project, which was a substantial undertaking. However, it became evident that the job was bigger than they could handle.
They suddenly abandoned our project, leaving us with a litany of incomplete work, financial burdens, and immense frustration:
1. Painting was left undone.
2. Only half of the flooring was installed.
3. Drywall mudding and taping were unfinished.
4. Tiling and grouting were poorly executed.
5. Baseboards were crooked, uncaulked, and only half completed.
To make matters worse, we had already paid for services that remained incomplete, and we were charged extra money for work that had already been paid for. The relentless pressure for cash payments by Gustavo and his wife Rose only added to our unsettling experience, raising doubts about their integrity and professionalism.
What's particularly flagrant is the live electrical outlet that Gustavo concealed within the drywall. He also covered up the wiring for the dishwasher and we had to pull up the flooring (1/2 competed) and purchase more martial When we pleaded for resolution, he nonchalantly dismissed us, claiming he was already working on a new project, displaying a complete lack of accountability.
Adding to our frustrations, we discovered deceptive photos on their website that falsely portrayed work supposedly completed on our property, such as the installation of a new patio door. This was completed by an outside door company.
The job's final cost was double the initial quote due to the errors and shoddy workmanship that had to be rectified. Finding a new contractor willing to pick up the pieces took an extended amount of time, significantly delaying our move into our new home.
In conclusion, we strongly recommend avoiding AMA Home Improvements. Their unprofessionalism, incomplete work, lack of integrity, and disregard for customer satisfaction and contractual obligations make them a contractor to steer clear of. Spare yourself the stress, financial setbacks, and endless delays by seeking a reputable and reliable alternative.

I had 2 bathrooms in a condo that needed full renovations including one that had a toilet leak. Work was done on time and Gus and Rose were amazing to work with. Everything was itemized and agreed upon before work began and if there were any changes we made them along the way. They were also really conscientious as my mother was living in the unit during the renos. And they kept me informed throughout the progress of the reno. I will definitely work with them again!

I just needed someone to help to replace the microwave and they did it in the best way possible, fast and clean.

Working with Gus, Rose, and their team has been an absolute pleasure. If I could give more than five stars, I would. From the very first contact, prompt, on time, friendly and professional at every interaction. The extensive work has been carried out to a high level, and its evident that Gus is a perfectionist, not stopping until everything is perfect. At all times, I felt well taken care of and involved in all the decision-making. Gus and the team listened to what I wanted and went out of their way to make sure it was just what I wanted. Not only is this company an excellent contractor, they are also a group of delightful young professionals who really care that the customer is completely happy with the work they have carried out. I appreciated seeing the pleasure they got in my delight of a beautiful job well done. I will be inviting them back mid-year to renovate my kitchen.

Gus and his team at AMA Home Improvement are some of the nicest and most professional people weve ever worked with. My husband and I are both in the construction and design industry and we are so thrilled with the work AMA did for us in our basement. Gus was extremely responsive, detail oriented, and was constantly going above and beyond for us. As a designer, he worked with me to execute specific finish details and was overall just such a pleasure to work with. Would recommend to friends, family and clients for any renovation project.

The AMA team were so incredible to work with. They completed our full mudroom renovation including tear down, laying foundation, framing, roofing, flooring, exterior door installation, drywalling, even the finishing touches like painting & touch-ups! They also widened our door frames for us with perfect drywalling/ finishing. We are SO happy with the quality of the work in our new kitchen and mudroom.

The team is so friendly and easy to communicate with- Gustavo is very understanding of your needs and VERY knowledgable. Overall a great experience.

We recently had reason to engage AMA Home Improvements, for work to prepare my house for sale. We had a wonderful experience working with AMA. Gustavo arrived on time to assess the work. A reasonable quote was provided on a timely basis. The work was done well and professionally. Also it was great to have a womans perspective with Rose on the site and have her leave her personal touches. Overall it was a pleasure working with Gustavo and Rose of AMA. Highly recommend!
