Momo Painting

Popcorn removal was ok. Paint job was terrible. They didnt remove any electrical covers. There are several areas that only 1 coat was painted on the wall so you can see through. There are several areas with paint drips, random brush bristles stuck to the wall, and parts where they rolled one way but not rolled back so it has an almost sponge painted effect. Absolutely terrible. To top it off we had an issue with them helping themselves into a washroom they had no business being in (it was on a different floor and nowhere near where they were working - we had left the washroom in the space they were working in readily available for them) and leaving it in a disgusting manor (poop on the floor). While that doesnt have anything to do with the actual paint job I think it speaks to their professionalism. They did not speak any English so communication had to go through whoever is running Instagram account and clearly she was not communicating with them properly because They didnt remove covers and paint the area properly after I mentioned it to her. They also didnt bother painting the trim and doors in half the space (which we didnt notice till the next day when we went through the space). My husband had paid them before he left as he had an event to get to and couldnt wait any longer for them to finish. I got in touch with her and sent several pictures and videos she said she would have them come back to fix it which I did not want them in my
Home again. I told her my husband would do it himself -he did the rest of our home and the only reason we paid someone to do it was because were having a baby in a couple weeks and had other projects on the go. She gave me back 200$ (not nearly enough) I was told that
it shouldnt be more then 1 day of work to fix so 200 was enough which was a wild response. I shouldnt have to spend 5 minutes fixing mistakes of professionals let alone an entire day. I felt my concerns were brushed off. She said I was referred by someone else so obviously they do good work. Umm well no - we had different things done and also I had found them on instagram its just my friend happened to book them in before I did. Had nothing to do with great work. They might quote you less than other painting companies but theres a reason for that. They arent professional painters.

Do not use Moms Painting for any of their services.

We hired Momo on a recommendation from a friend (more on that below) to tear down and re-do my elderly parents bathrooms. They did the whole job in three or so days and we've consistently had issues with water leaking from the bathroom to the main floor below, which has NEVER happened in the 20 years we've lived in the house. We've called Mia multiple times to try and address the issue and after about 6 calls, Mia finally answered and sent someone over. They said that there was no issue and that it was likely rain water entering our house. Like I said, this was a house we've lived in for 20 years and do all maintenance on a regular basis, and we've never had any leaking issues at any point.

We continued to have water leaking (despite no rain in the area) and only in one area and now Mia is dodging our calls. She does not pick up unless I call with a blocked number and she says she'll send someone and never does.

We hired another plumber to come and have a look, and lo and behold, Mia's contractors did not do the job to spec. They had left a gaping hole in the inside of the shower through which the water was flooding every time we had a shower. This cannot be a mistake as both showers have the same gap in the same place. This is either lazy work or an attempt to save money by saving on labour and/or material.

This is now going to cost us thousands of dollars to fix as we need to trace through the whole house to ensure that there is no water damage anywhere else.

On our friend who gave us the recommendation, Momo painted their apartment. The painting was decent (though they needed to come a couple times to cover see-through spots) however, they left paint splatters EVERYWHERE, including on the floor. When they addressed this with Mia, her response was to use a spoon to scrape the floor to remove the splatters from the floor.......

The friend gave us the recommendation because the painting was decent but Mia's response should have been an indication of how they treat clients.

DO NOT USE MOMO FOR ANY OF THEIR SERVICES.

UPDATE..... Mia never held to her word to fix issues after promising. Just respond review with excuse.
If you look at the trend the last 3 or 4 reviews you'll see very poor. Shows true colors.
Was hired to mud, tape and paint 1000 sq/ft. Which is a fair price.
Looks like sub contracted to asian people.
Mia our contact is avoiding my concerns with the issues of electrical outlets. Where as she orginally says she'll tend to it.
Mudding and taping sucks.
Workers painter over covers without taking them off. The covers that were taken off never put back.
Clean up was terrible splatter all over the place. The was even a smudge where someone brushed up on the way out rubbing off paint.

Do not recommend. Popcorn ceiling removal job. Had deficiencies but never came back to repair them. Do a final inspection before you make final payment. Also had a quote to paint whole house which he later increased $1000 even though he knew exactly what had to be done.

We used Momo for our entire house remodel.
We had our popcorn ceiling removed. The hardwood flooring replaced, new stairway, pot lighting and interior painting. We also had the basement finished (1 bedroom, 1 bath and a kitchenette built).
