Chimney Repair

Chimney Build & Repair review in Oshawa

We found SMC Masonry through Home Star. Stephan offered us a free inspection and quoted for the work during his first visit. He took the pictures and explained everything, needs to be done to fix the Chimeny.

On the agreed day, he showed up with four guys. They did an excellent job and fixed the Chimney. They also replaced the broken brick wall at the back of the house, which was not within the scope of work. Stephen also provides us some tips on how to insulate our basement.

I have one suggestion for them. In the old Chimney construction, few black bricks were used for shade, which they did not use during replacement. You can see in the picture, the bricks which they replaced are all red.

We strongly recommend SMC Masonry for any brick-related work.

Tear down the damaged chimney and rebuild

Before actually working on the chimney, they did shop around to look for the appropriate bricks for our chimney.
The work was done by four people, very professional and fast. Everything was cleaned and back to normal by mid afternoon. We are extremely happy with their service.

Chimney flu liner replacement

I had noticed a piece of the orange flu liner from our chimney had fallen off and landed on our deck. Originally I thought maybe the flu liner could be patched. After calling SMC Masonry, Stephen came by and explained what the problem was and what needed to be done to fix it. Him and his team showed up when he said they would and the job was completed in about 6 hours. Stephen took pictures of the before and after and I then realized the problem was much worse than I had thought. I am happy with the result.

Honest and extremely reliable

I’m extremely pleased with Stephen’s professionalism and work. He’s fair and honest and extremely easy to communicate with. He maintains high integrity and follows through on his word. It’s obvious he takes pride in his work and walked me through the job during and after to explain everything done.
I highly recommend SMC Masonry. There aren’t many “good guys” out there but Stephen is definitely one of them!

Very happy with exterior brickwork!

Stephen did an awesome job with the exterior brickwork at our house. We replaced two sets of large patio doors with windows, so the bricks had to be patched in. He found the bricks to match our house and it looks great. Communication was clear and the job was completed according to the timeline given. We are very happy with Stephen’s work and have already recommended him to family and friends!

Quality work

Stephen and his team did an amazing job on the rebuild of my crumbling chimney. They also took the time to repair some other degrading bricks they found near my windows and re-grouted my stone sills without any extra charge. They even cleaned out my gutters while ensuring the area was left clean when they were finished. Stephen was responsive throughout the whole process and was clearly knowledgeable. I would recommend SMC Masonry to anyone looking for quality work at a fair price.

Excellent service, great experience!

After shopping around to have my chimney rebuilt, and having waited weeks to get someone to get a quote, I finally used homestars and I found Stephen. He came by within the week to give me a quote and his initial price was in the range I knew what the job should cost, and the price was the same at the end .. no surprises. Stephen and his workers showed up within a weeks time and educated me on what they were going to do and competed the task within a day and expertly! Right from the beginning Stephen was courteous and very professional. His expertise and skill were evident in the job done. I would highly recommend him in future.

Window Brickwork
