Bytown Appliance Repair

Beware!! Bytown appliances makes you prepay for repairs and parts before ordering required parts. It was over 5 months and the part did not arrive. We found the part and the repair was done with the promise to get refunded for the part. They were able to cancel the part order at their end. I have contacted Brad at Bytown many times for the refund to only get empty promises.
After reading all the reviews I have no idea how he stays in business. Please Beware!!

Disappointing experience.
I called the service to replace a defective door switch. The service technician (Leon) could not figure out how to access the inside of the simple dryer. After several minutes he found out how to access it, but unfortunately he did not have the right tools (he did not have sockets). So he left promising to call back once he gets the right tool and once he orders the switch (apparently he did not have the switch either...). What he brought though was his credit card terminal so he can charge me $120 (plus HST) for visiting me and telling me what I already told him I.e that the door switch was broken and needed to be replaced... It is not a joke.... He promised to get the part, get the right tool, and come back to get it fixed. He never did, never called back either. I eventually called another repair company who came promptly and repaired for half the price what these guys were asking. Avoid this repair service. Incompetent and unprofessional.
