Jim came to re-install a fireplace that was done badly by another company. Good craftsman, skillful, clean-up after the job unlike bad craftsman who leave a mess in your house. I would use him again. Job was completed just recently

Modern Home Energy Inc. fixed and recharged my 24000BTU mini split A/C unit. They also serviced my garage propane furnace and bunkie propane fireplace while on the service call. I am very satisfied with their service and will be calling them again when needed. Before leaving the service tech ensured I was satisfied and confirmed that all of my needs were met.

I had originally purchased an HRV and came to Homestars to find a professional to install it. Out of the 3 companies that called me back with a quote, Modern Home Energy was the only one that took the time to actually come on site (free of charge) to provide an accurate quote. Not only that, he rightfully guided me into returning the HRV in favor of an ERV which as he pointed out would be better suited for our climate. Note that the equipment was purchased through a different party so there was no reason for him to upsell, he only had my best interests in mind. After some research, he was 100% correct!

When the date and time came for the install, he showed up on time and ready to get the job done and it was done right! No hassles, no haggling, just a great job, honest and accurate to the quote. Highly recommended!

Highly recommend Jim to anyone! He installed cold air returns and new register ducts in our century home's 2nd floor. Jim was professional and his initial quote was less than he charged. Everything was fully reviewed before executing on the project. For the first time since moving into this house, our 2nd floor is maintaining a good temperature.

We needed a new A/C unit installed, Jim contacted us quickly and we made an appointment. He came by on time and was very knowledgeable in what we needed. After he installed the first unit, he noticed an issue with it, he came by a few times to check on it. While he was waiting for a replacement unit,he called to keep us updated. Enbridge was changing meters in our neighborhood, so our appointment was set. Unfortunately, during the replacement , the worker found a leak. He did find 2 small ones and corrected them, unfortunately, he was still detecting a leak at the meter. He red tagged us and unhooked the meter, totally un hooked the meter. He told us what needed to be done and pointed us in the direction of Homestars. I jumped on and put in a request, with a quick response from Modern Home Energy. After a little research and calling back Jim, he was at my house in 30mins or less. I was very happy with my choice. Jim was very personable, professional knowledgeable and thorough. Upon finding out we have not used the outside line for the BBQ (we use tanks) nor our gas fireplace, he offered to cap them off for us. In doing so he found a small part of pipe that was loose and possible a small issue. After doing his checks of all areas where we have gas lines being used, he detected there were no leaks.
