Empirical Builds completely demolished and gutted my 8x9 ft master bathroom. Although we had an idea for layout, it was hard to plan as we didn't know how the plumbing lines and joists were running. Once all open we were able to see and quickly redesign the layout, which changed. Meticulously he ensured the bathroom was built back to perfection, from complete plumbing, electrical, heat floor, pocket door, tiling. It was with care and attention to detail. Loved that he didn't make decisions for me and asked when not certain instead of guessing! I felt the price was fair for the work being done. I owed extra for additional stuff added. I did NOT nickel and dime on this project and I always paid fairly which I'm glad I did! Good work is hard to find without the crazy price tag. I was quoted over 50K before him and he now has my next project. Also important to me - love that MOST of the work is done by HIM ONLY. He had a helper at times, but all primary work is done by him, instead hiring others' that aren't able to demonstrate the same level of quality that he expects and would do. Personality: Nice guy, he's definitely not a sales guys and not very talkative... I was good with this, once the work was done right.

Extremely Dissatisfied

What seemed like a straight forward renovation has turned into a disaster. I hired Empirical Builds to put back together my basement after I fully demolished it and had the external walls professionally waterproofed with waterproofing membrane, weeping tile and a sump pump. Their job was to drywall the ceiling and walls, lay vinyl flooring and then tile the entrance/kitchen area. I was going to have a shot of building the Ikea kitchen once they were done.

It all went wrong when they lost the diagram of where all the electrical was in the ceiling for pot lights and smoke detectors. When it was time for the electrician to drill holes in the freshly painted ceiling, there were quite a few misses and Im left with holes in the ceiling. Thank goodness the electrician remembered the placement of an outlet that was buried behind the drywall! Despite this, I was waiting patiently as these were just cosmetic and I was assured that the guys of Empirical Builds wouldnt leave me hanging. Besides, they were supposed to come back to bring my receipt, fix my fence that they damaged with baseboards sticking out the back of their truck, as well as return the extra flooring they took without my permission. The lack of attention to basic details is very clear to anyone.

The mountain of a problem has come when I discovered that they had cut out the water proofing membrane along the entire length of a wall because it got in their way when drywalling. The conversations about this were endless and I am dumbfounded that they decided to cut out what cost me thousands of dollars to have installed just months prior. Its pretty clear that they thought Id never find out about it. So now Im in a worse position where I have to demolish freshly laid tile and painted drywall, have the waterproofers break up the concrete.again, so that it can perform as required to keep the basement dry. Were looking at $8k to go backwards and my phone calls are going unanswered. It would be in their best interest to file a claim with their insurance, but unfortunately they have gone silent. Zero response to e-mails, text messages, voice messages and letting the phone ring through.
Not to mention that this is a rental unit that is doing anything but bring in income.

No, I DO NOT recommend using them for anything!

My wife could not stop her excitement of what her kitchen became. BEAUTIFUL & SPACIOUS.

I have used Empirical Builds before and have nothing but amazing things to say. The work was professionally done and efficiently as well. My entire condo was painted and the flooring in my bedroom was changed from carpet to laminate. I felt that the price was reasonable and I’m glad I went here again to get the job done. At the end of the day, I would only ever come to Empirical Builds for my future renovations.

Ibrahim was hired to install hardwood floors on the main floor. He was professional, punctual and worked in an efficient manner.
I’m extremely happy with my floor it’s flawless and sturdy. The attention to details was immaculate and I really appreciated that.

Emperical Builds Owner/Contractor Ebrahim is a very professional person and very kind & nice in nature. He is very friendly and soft spoken and easy going.
EB did a lot of renovation work in my house in Mississauga and i found him very professional, friendly and clean.
All his team members are very professional, friendly and i never felt i have contractors around me :)

They always came on time and completed all their work right on time.
No mess ever left at site and they cleaned it on daily basis. EB did their assigned jobs in a very professional way & work really hard to please me all the time and listened my needs calmly and patiently. Surprisingly their work quote is very reasonable too. EB is now become my permanent contractor from small to a big job.

Emperical builds was very courteous and professional. They took the time to understand what exactly we were looking to get done and did the project in the most efficient and convenient way possible. We had a family with two babies living in our basement so we needed the job done as quickly as possible with minimal dust. They brought in the appropriate tools that made the job look easy and best of all there was no mess at all. Everything was finished and cleaned same-day. The Potlights are symmetrical and light up the basement like never before. They even patched up some of the holes in our ceiling that had nothing to do with the job. The pricing was very reasonable. I'm really happy with the decision of getting the job done and choosing Emperical Builds to do it.

We did complete bathroom renovation, changing sink, toilets, lights, paint, trims.
We also did a custom fireplace, new floors and stairs...

EB was a pleasure to work with he was quick to get me a quote. The price was very fair and he got the job done on time. His work space was always kept clean. I will definitely be using him again in the future for anymore renovations.
